Digital image copyrights and image authentication draw a great attention specially in critical image communications. This paper presents a proposal for a new encoder-decoder, which we call SecEncoDeco, for securing JPEG images. An extra stage of security is embedded in the traditional JPEG codec. This security stage uses the Secure Hill cipher technique. This encryption technique has many advantages over the traditional Hill cipher. The Safe Time of the Secure Hill cipher is deduced and presented in detail. Implementation of the proposed method is built based on MATLAB. Complete evaluation for the proposed codec is performed which indicates the effectiveness of the proposed secure codec for image copyright protection.

The main objective of this work is the design and implementation of a hierarchical control solution for chemical and petrochemical processes, namely the control and optimization of the ethylene pyrolysis reactor, the key-installation in the petrochemical industry. The hierarchical control structures are organized on two levels of automation. The execution or control level, on the one hand, has to fulfill two important tasks: the data acquisition from the physical plant and the regulation of the major parameters of the process. The supervisory level, on the other hand, is referred to the optimization of the production.

As the world is currently facing an energy and climate crisis, the development and utilization of alternative sources of energy has become an important challenge. From all types of renewable energy sources, wind turbines proved to be one of the cleanest and most reliable solutions for energy production. Wind energy conversion systems have in the last decades been subject of a strong interest as they could offer a viable source of electrical energy. This is why, it is important to focus on complex algorithms that meet with multiple objectives such as speed regulation, blade load and mode stabilization with simultaneously maximizing energy capture. A methodology for designing control systems for real time applications is presented. It is proposed to have a first stage of assisted design of nominal systems with simulation based verification of the achieved performances. The control algorithm will then be improved by robustification to reproduce as good as possible the performances obtained in simulation on the real time process. Finally, a supervisor is implemented to optimize the thermo-energetic process and to compute the best choice for the reference signals.

Business forecasting uses statistic tools more or less sophisticated that relay on the observation values from the past, regarding the activity level, and calculates predictions for the future. The majority of the methods can calculate forecast without any problem and with high accuracy when the data has a satisfying quality. This paper describes our results in implementing the forecast in general and highlights the cases with sporadic data, cases with a high forecasting need, that are common in real life.

This paper presents an RST controller design applied to a horizontal wind turbine, functioning in the above rated wind speeds area. The controller presented here, is a robust digital controller which aims to regulate the wind turbine rotor speed through collective blade pitch control. The paper starts with a state of the art of wind turbines and their problematic and continues with the design of the controller. The robustness of the controller will be shown through the robustness indicators values and also will be tested through the variation of the model's parameters. This control method provided a good response by eliminating the steady state error after a step input and has shown good robustness indicator values.

This work presents the co-simulation approach to the analysis of control systems containing detailed models of electromagnetic and electromechanical converters. In this method of analysis the attention is paid to the whole system and not only to its electromagnetic part. The latter is described by equations resulted from the two-dimensional finite element discretisation of the Maxwell equations, and is coupled weakly with the remaining part of the system. The simulation is carried out in Matlab/Simulink environment wherein the coupling is realised through the S-function. Example results regarding simulation of the operation of the control system of an electrical machine and the operation of a power electronic converter are presented and compared with available reference data.
