New developments in computer networks and communications provide new possibilities for control purposes. control systems for highly complex plants are themselves very complex and heterogeneous. A new software infrastructure is needed that exploits these new emerging software technologies. An essential activity to be pursued is that of education and of including new technology in control education. There is also a look in a practical usage of these technologies as well as in management problems. In the main, it describes the author's provided management mechanism based on SNMP modifications. This paper is concerned with an application study of model-based fault detection method to a ship propulsion system. When modeling the object system, Quasi-ARMAX model with multi-model form is used. In this model, the system non-linearity is incorporated into model parameters by using non-linear non-parametric models (NNMs). Kullback discrimination Information (KDI) is introduced as fault detection index to evaluate the distortion in identified model, which is caused by a fault. The effectiveness of the method is verified through simulation studies on the ship propulsion system.

The paper presents a new filtering scheme for the removal of impulsive noise in color images. It is based on estimating the probability density function for color pixels in a filter window by means of the kernel density estimation method. A quantitative comparison of the proposed filter with the vector median filter shows its excellent ability to reduce noise while simultaneously preserving fine image details.

In this paper a novel approach to the problem of impulsive noise removal in color images based on the nonparametric density estimation is presented. The basic idea behind the new image filtering technique is the maximization of the similarities between pixels in a predefined filtering window. The new method is faster than the standard vector median filter and preserves better edges and fine image details. Simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms other standard algorithms of the reduction of impulsive noise in color images.

The algorithms based on digital signal processing for impedance components' evaluation in circuits with sampling transducer have been analysed. It is supposed that the voltage and current are sampled synchronously to the fundamental frequency of the generated sinusoidal signal. Two fitting sine wave algorithms, which are based on the least mean square (LMS) technique, have been described. The first one reconstructs indirect measurement method. The second algorithm estimates the unknown impedance components by direct method. The uncertainty's propagation by described algorithms can be analysed by means of covariance matrix. The elements of covariance matrix are dependent on the phase angles of the measurement signals. It is shown that those algorithms provide minimization of uncertainty for selected number of samples and phase angles. The influence's simulations of quantization error of the AD converter and jitters of sampling time for described algorithms on uncertainty processing results have been carried out.

ATM multicasting using the multicast address resolution server (MARS) and multicasting server (MCS) has been presented as an efficient scheme for supporting IP multicast over ATM. On the other hand, Internet TV, distance learning, and file distribution are emerging large-scale multicast applications in which only a single source has to deliver data to all hosts participating in the multicast group. We introduce a new scheme for electing MCSs among all hosts in the network to minimize both the end-to-end path delay and the overall load across the network for single source applications. We introduce a new measure of the overall load which is determined by calculating the number of packets' copies multiplied by the number of hops done to complete the transmission of one packet from the sender to all members in the multicast group.
