The paper presents preliminary results for on-line measurement method of isopropanol concentration in the ultrasonic nebulization process using BW-Tek compact UV/Vis spectrophotometer. The experimental setup with nebulization vessel was constructed with a probe for on-line measurements. The tests were performed using a standard mixture of isopropanol and water with the volume isopropanol concentration in the range 19% to 83%. The results of on-line spectrophotometric method were verified using stationary spectrophotometer and a gas chromatography method. Linear calibration for the obtained data was performed and measurement uncertainties for the tested method were evaluated as confidence intervals.

The paper presents the application of the linearizing control technique for stabilization of the isopropanol concentration in the ultrasonic nebulization process. The isopropanol concentration has to be kept constant to make the nebulization process more efficient. This is achieved by manipulating the inlet flow rate of a fresh isopropanol-water mixture. Because the content of the vessel is not well-mixed, it was shown that by measuring only the isopropanol concentration at the bottom of the vessel, the control system performance could be improved by the optimal selection of controller parameters. Moreover, the simulation results have show n that the closed-loop system was stable and exhibited similar behavior, even if the nebulization rate was not know precisely.

As computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) gains a broader usage as a viable alternative to traditional educational scenarios, the need for automated tools capable of evaluating active participation and collaboration among peers in online discussions increases. In this study, we validate a quantitative model of predicting involvement in CSCL chats based on student's pauses throughout the timeline of the conversation. Starting from a corpus of 10 chat conversations, our proposed model explains 55% of the variance in terms of student participation and 42% in terms of collaboration, although relying on simple quantitative indices.

A concept of the porous core electromagnet is studied. The form for the electromagnet core was printed using 3D technique. The core was manufactured manually using iron filings and cured in room temperature and air pressure. The aim of this paper is to deliver initial analysis of the proposed powder core together with the modelling procedure by the using finite element method, and to compare the experimental results of the manually manufactured electromagnet. The material property of the numerical model was adjusted to fit the experimental results. Finally, the electromagnet was tested in the levitation real–time experiment.

In the domain of energy automation, where a massive number of software-based IoT services interact with a complex dynamic system, processes for software installation and software update become more important and more complex. These processes have to ensure that the dependencies on all layers are fulfilled, including dependencies arising due to the energy system controlled by IT components being a hidden communication channel between these components. In addition, the processes have to be resilient against faults in and attacks to both the energy grid and the communication network. The ERA-Net funded project LarGo! aims at developing and testing processes for the large scale rollout of software applications in the power grid domain as well as the user domain. This article describes a work in progress and the project's roadmap to solve the technical issues. It investigates the problems that arise from the interlocking of the two networks- the power grid and the communication network. Based on this analysis a first set of requirements for a rollout process in such a Smart Grid is derived and the chosen approach to verify the resilience of the developed processes under research is described.
