Voting is the important procedure in different countries worldwide and is essential to any consensus-dependent society. Especially in the context of COVID pandemic where people stays home, such systems are very relevant today. Elections can happen for different reasons, involving choosing leaders, finishing political problems, choosing a substantial government, etc. The phenomenal using of Information Technology in the process of election is quickly earning momentum. This growth in voting systems indicated to as evoting comes with more benefits than the voting system based on paper. While there are many efforts in different parts of world regarding implementations and trials for electronic voting, there are not many researches regarding this in Asia Minor, especially Iraq. It can be noted that Iraq has several regions with difficult access and where sometime it is difficult to collect votes in the traditional way because of access reasons and post-war conditions. We want to fill this gap through the research presented in this paper. In this paper we describe an application for m-voting targeting the specific conditions of Iraq in the COVID situation. In the current society, the application of which we are talking about, can also be seen as a significant help for a numerous amount of countries during the pandemic of COVID-19. The application is based on Mobile technology. We choose mobile technology motivated by the fact that although people do not have computers, almost everyone has a mobile phone in Iraq. Moreover, the usefulness of mobiles can represent a proper way for people with disabilities to execute their legal right to vote for the future of their country.

This paper presents a study for optimizing a hot rolling mill. The paper is devoted to the study of ways to reduce the effect of shock loads of synchronous electric drives of the roughing mill group on the relative lengthening of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap of the rolling stands of the finishing mill group. The elasticity of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap of the rolling mill has a significant impact on the movement of intercoupled multi-motor electric drives of the finishing mill group. Another crucial route of exposure that influences the motion of the electric drives within the finishing mill group involves the electromagnetic connection between the drives in the roughing and finishing mill groups. The impact of the electromagnetically connected circuits is evident through the effect of shock loads from synchronous electric drives on the angular velocity of the direct current electric drives within the finishing mill group. The characteristics of the electromagnetic communication circuit are established by the power grid arrangement and equipment specifications. To assess the quality of work of electric drives of the finishing mill group, it is proposed to use the relative lengthening of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap, which is an important indirect indicator of the quality of rolling. The mathematical model of a hot rolling mill that takes into account both the elasticity of the metal strip that connects the DC electric drives of the finishing group, and the electromagnetic coupling circuit that takes into account the impact loads of synchronous electric drives of the roughing group on the example of the mill 1700 of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC was proposed in this paper. The process of detecting and identifying errors early in the life-cycle of any software has many challenges. The tools used for model checking are however becoming more effective and usable because they are helping the identification of errors. This has empowered users to apply model checking to large-scale problems. The process of validating the model implementation is normally harder. We created a Promela model by using a model checker called Spin in order to verify the Medical Social Media System based on Social Oriented Networks by using M-Health technology and sensors in smartphones and bracelets for medical data acquisition, in order for it to be used in the healthcare sector in Iraq. For the Promela Model, we first described the behaviors of the Medical Social Media Systems via UML timelines. After that, we combined the UML timelines in state diagrams that were finally transformed into a Promela model and verified with the Spin model checker. © 2019 IEEE.

The paper is devoted to study of the influence of rolling modes on the performance of powerful interconnected electric drives of a hot rolling mill under the action of an electromagnetic coupling circuit between the electric drives of the roughing and finishing groups. The action of the electromagnetic coupling circuit manifests itself in the form of the influence of impact loads of synchronous electric drives on the angular velocity of direct current electric drives of the finishing group of the mill. The parameters of the electromagnetic coupling circuit are determined by the power supply scheme and equipment parameters. Values of impact loads applied to a synchronous motor depend on the rolling process parameters, in particular, the chemical composition of the rolled steel and the temperature of the ingot. The paper presents the results of calculating the rolling power for various rolling mode parameters. Using mathematical modeling in Simulink, numerical estimates of the influence of rolling modes on the magnitude of the voltage drop in the power supply unit and the drop in the angular velocity of the electric drive of the finishing group were obtained on the example of a wide-strip hot rolling mill 1700 of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC.

Over time, the increased use of the Internet has led to the widespread adoption of web and cloud applications. More and more applications are coming to the aid of persons or companies to make their work easier. A Service Level Agreement (SLA) gathers information about all contracted services and their expected reliability in a single document and plays a very important role when it comes to IT (Information Technology) sales. This paper examines the extent to which the SLA is complied with through a series of specific reports and graphs. The usefulness of this application is to get an overview of web services to know the frequency of situations unforeseen and the moments when they deviated from the operation in good conditions.

G. mellonella is a promising species for use in biodegradation of plastics. It is easy to breed and has high resistance to diverse climatic conditions, which is particularly valuable when considering its potential application in decomposition of plastics. Although it does not pose a direct threat to humans, the greater wax moth is a parasitic species in bee hives, contributing to the population decline of these insects. This species has demonstrated the capacity for biodegradation of the most common types of plastics, such as polyethylene and polypropylene (PP), and the intestinal microbiome is responsible for their degradation. However, there are no reports on whether consumed plastics or their decomposition products will adversely affect the structure and functioning of the internal organs. During our preliminary research, we investigated whether any degenerative changes appeared in cells of selected organs – midgut, silk gland, and fat body – under PP consumption by G. mellonella caterpillars (7th instar larvae). We also examined whether there was an increase in levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in selected organs, as well as the ability of larvae to survive and undergo metamorphosis. The research was carried out using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), confocal microscopy, and flow cytometry. Our study on G. mellonella larvae fed with PP bags showed that a diet containing such plastic did not affect internal organs at the ultrastructural level. Cells in the analyzed organs – midgut, silk gland, and fat body – showed no degenerative changes. An increase in the intensity of autophagy and cell vacuolization was noted, but they probably act as a survival pathway. These observations suggest that the final larval stage of the greater wax moth can potentially be applied in PP biodegradation. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

We consider a discrete nonlinear control time-varying system x(k + 1) = f(k, x(k), u(k)), k ∈ ℕ, x ∈ ℝ n , u ∈ ℝ r . A control process of this system is a pair (x(k), u(k)) k ∈ N consisting of a control (u(k)) k∈N and some solution (x(k)) k∈N of the system with this control. We assume that the control process is defined for all k ∈ N. We have obtained sufficient conditions for uniform and non-uniform (with respect to the initial moment) exponential stabilization of the control process with any pregiven decay of rate. Exponential convergence to zero of the deviation of both the state vector and the control vector is guaranteed. The result is based on the property of uniform complete controllability (in the sense of Kalman) for a system of linear approximation.

Decision support system based on pattern detection in iterative dermoscopic screening

Background and Objective: Videodermoscopy is the gold standard in melanoma diagnosis. A new research trend aims to support specialists’ work by automating this examination method, but most research focuses on developing detectors to replace dermatologists. Our study aims to present a novel idea which focuses on supporting the examination process instead of completely automating it. Instead of detecting and classifying all naevi each time, our approach focuses on full screening at the first visit and shortening the examination at subsequent visits. During the following examinations, images of all naevi are taken by supporting staff and are compared with previously taken images using feature-matching or co-registration-based algorithms. An unmatched naevus needs to be checked by the specialist, meaning that a new naevus appeared or an old one had changed. Methods: The similarity between images (ranging from 0% to 100%) was obtained with characteristic points searching (ORB method) and co-registration-based methods. No dataset presenting changes of naevi over time exists, so augmenting the images from PH2 and HAM10000 datasets was required to simulate the time flow. Results: The decision bound was set, so the true positive rate of each method was equal to 99%, giving the specificity of ORB equal to 97% (PH2) and 89% (HAM10000). Similar tests were performed using a co-registration algorithm giving specificity equal to 23% (PH2) and 19% (HAM10000). Conclusions: We believe that employing our approach will allow supporting staff to perform screening without experts’ help, decreasing examination time and costs and increasing the accessibility of dermoscopic examinations.

Compositional Synthesis of Symbolic Models for Infinite Networks ⁎

In this paper, we provide a compositional method for the construction of symbolic models (a.k.a. finite abstractions) for infinite networks of discrete-time control systems. The concrete infinite network and its symbolic model are related by a so-called alternating simulation function which allows one to quantify the mismatch between the output behavior of the infinite interconnection of concrete subsystems and that of their symbolic models. We show that such an alternating simulation function can be obtained compositionally by assuming some small-gain type conditions and composing so-called local alternating simulation functions constructed for subsystems. Assuming certain stability property of concrete subsystems, we also provide a technique to synthesize their symbolic models together with their corresponding local alternating simulation functions. Finally, we apply our results to a traffic network divided into infinitely many cells.

Spot defect analysis to identify the functional parameters of a Voltage controlled Oscillator

This work presents method of identification of the functional parameters of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) using artificial neural network (ANN). The VCO under test is excited with a selected stimuli and the ANN is trained by the VCO response in time-domain. Investigated VCO is a mixed-signal circuit, therefore spread of circuit parameters (tolerance) is modelled by Monte-Carlo analysis. Existence of a circuit failures, modelled as spot defects, is also taken into consideration. Additionally, a genetic algorithm (GA) is used to minimize number of circuit response samples. The goal is shortening of data acquisition and processing time during circuit testing, as having significant influence on final manufacturing cost. The proposed method enables shortening test time of the VCO, together with high efficiency of functional parameters identification. © 2018
