Operating wind turbines produce infrasound noise thus they act on the environment. This also applies to small wind turbines, which are located in the immediate vicinity of human settlements. Small wind turbines can be located close to buildings and mounted directly on their walls and roofs. In this case, it is important to determine the level of environmental impact of such type of installation. Measurement results of infrasound noise generated by a small vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT), rated power 1 kW, are presented in the paper. Analysis results of sound pressure level and dependence of signal spectra from different wind speeds are shown. In the analysis of sound pressure level the G weighing curve was used according to the ISO 7196:2002 standard and achieved results were referred to the limits contained in the current legislation, what allowed for evaluation of the infrasound noise impact of the turbine under study.

The paper presents analysis results of sound pressure level of infrasound noise generated by brand new wind turbine from REPOWER type MM92, rated power 2 MW. As results the amplitude spectra of noise for three chosen wind speed values are presented. Additionally, distributions of the sound pressure level with dependence on wind speed for selected resonant and median frequency values are presented. For chosen frequencies linear regression analysis was performed and subjected for a detailed evaluation. Values obtained from measurement were referred to and compared with the limits specified in legislations existing in this area.

Analysis results of sound pressure level of infrasound noise generated by high-power wind turbine Vensys type 62, which is operated for five years with an electrical capacity of 1.2 MW, are presented in the paper. Frequency and time-frequency spectrograms calculated for recorded low-frequency signals with respect to all registered changes of electrical power generated and the number of rotor revolutions per minute are presented. All measured sound pressure levels have been evaluated with and without the use of G weighting curve, which have helped to determine the size of infrasound impact of turbines and to analyze the influence of regarded parameters on this impact range of changes. Values obtained from measurement were referred to and compared with the limits specified in legislations existing in this area.

In this paper the idea of Policy-based Input Selector, which is a framework of a highly flexible modular software interface was presented. The Policy-based Input Selector allows run-time context-sensitive and self-acting reconfiguration of information inputs in cognitive systems. The subject matter of the paper refers to the assessment of the technical condition of a power transformer core based on vibroacoustic measurements taken during a regular operation. The results of the analysis of mechanical vibration parameters presented in the paper were obtained during experimental laboratory investigations on an actual lowvoltage transformer unit. The vibration measurements were taken with a specialized measuring apparatus by the company Brüel & Kjær - system Pulse Dyn-XI. During the experiment both load and supplying voltage of the unit diagnosed were changed. In order to show the changes of the vibroacoustic parameters determined, an attempt to simulate the core failure and to connect it with the obtained results of the acceleration rms value and vibration amplitude spectrum was made. The measurements and analysis of the vibrations measured were carried out in dependence on the transformer load and supplying voltage changes for the core without damage and with a simulated damage - a loosened core.

The performance of twin-armature rotary-linear induction motor is presented in this paper. The stator consists of a rotary armature and linear armature placed aside one another. Both armatures have a common rotor which consists of solid iron cylinder covered with a thin copper layer. The rotor can move rotary, linearly or with helical motion. The linear motion generates dynamic end effect on both linear and rotary armature. Modeling such an effect in rotary armature is a significant challenge as it requires a solution considering motion with two degrees of mechanical freedom. The approach used to address linear motion on rotary armature is based on the combination of transient time-domain finite element model and frequency-domain slip frequency technique. The results obtained from finite element modeling are then verified by test carried out on experimental model of the motor what validates the proposed method.
