Acoustic emission measurement results of acoustically induced cavitation bubbles in insulating oil are presented in this paper. Spectral analysis of acquired by a broadband transducer acoustic emission signals is proposed as a diagnostic tool for estimation of aging properties of mineral insulating oils. The article describes the main parts of the designed and built measurement apparatus used for acoustic cavitation investigation in insulating oils. In this note representative results of the experimental data taken from the apparatus are shown.

The aim of this paper is an attempt of the simulation of the electromechanical systems with the use of the programming tools included in the modern graphical packages or graphical extensions to the programming languages. The advantage of such approach lies in possibility of the simultaneous high quality visualization of the currently obtained results. The possibilities of new graphical packages enable making calculations on the Web platform - it is new and very interesting idea. The proposed solutions can be used both to the educational and presentation tasks.

The paper presents a new numerical integration routine BGKODE_DSP. This routine is based on BGKODE routine, which forms a practical application of the Kroghpsilas algorithm. BGKODE_DSP routine realizes the predictor-corrector method and has been simplified to ensure its applicability in real time systems. The results of the comparison between the selected common numerical integration methods and the new routine is presented. The scope of this research also involves the range of accuracy of the solution resulting from the shorter computation time. Experiments have been carried out on experimental drive system with induction motor with the use of DTC method.

The paper presents the results of researches on modifying dielectric properties of hydrocarbons by the addition of fullerenes. Three hydrocarbons where analyzed - toluene, cyclohexane and n-hexane - against their electrical capacity, resistivity, dielectric loss tangent and tendency to electrification. The influence of C 60 fullerene doping on all examined characteristics were determined.

The paper presents the concept of modifying dielectric properties of hydrocarbons by the addition of C 60 fullerenes. Streaming electrification current of pure and C 60 -doped toluene was examined using rotating electrometer constructed by authors of this work. The influence of C 60 addition on electrification current was determined.

The paper presents the application of the Cole-Cole model for determining the runs of the return voltage of the paper-oil insulation sample through a computer simulation. Different insulation conditions were simulated through an adequate selection of parameters alpha and tau of the Cole-Cole model. For calculation purposes, a series-parallel substitute scheme, obtained through approximation of a discrete characteristic operator impedance Z a of the model applied, was used. The diagnostics of the simulated insulation condition was based on the analysis of a few selected parameters of the return voltage, obtained from time characteristics.

The paper presents research results on ECT (electrostatic charge tendency) of cyclohexane and hexane mixtures, that is dielectric liquids of a simple chemical structure and high purity (pro analysi). The research tests are carried out in a spinning disk system, where the factors affecting the value of the electrification current registered are a varying composition of the mixture and the rotational speed of the disk. In the next stage physicochemical parameters are measured in order to determine the relationship between the properties of the mixtures under study and the electrification current generated. The research results show that the ECT of the mixture depends, to a large extent, on the proper selection of particular components.

Iterative feedback tuning constitutes an attractive control loop tuning method for processes in the absence of sufficient process insight. It is a purely data driven approach to optimization of the loop performance. The standard formulation ensures an unbiased estimate of the loop performance cost function gradient, which is used in a search algorithm. A slow rate of convergence of the tuning method is often experienced when tuning for disturbance rejection. This is due to a poor signal to noise ratio in the process data. A method is proposed for increasing the information content in data by introducing an optimal perturbation signal in the tuning algorithm. For minimum variance control design the optimal design of an external perturbation signal is derived in terms of the asymptotic accuracy of the iterative feedback tuning method.

Mutual interaction of pulses in three-conductor coupled lines

This paper presents an analysis how the pulses in the long three-conductor coupled lines with common screen interact mutually. The interaction of pulses appears in those places of the line, where there is a change in characteristic impedance causing a change in reflection coefficient for pulses moving along the line. An exemplary analysis is conducted for a homogenous lossless line both at its starting and terminal point. The results of the analysis are analytical expressions describing quantitative interactions of pulses. The expressions are verified numerically and experimentally involving measurements of the real-life line. The mutual interaction of pulses can be useful in location of faults in electric power lines by means of the pulses method.
