Exploration of the application of optimisation algorithm using stochastic gradient descent method in satellite resource allocation

With the popularization and development of communication technology, the resource allocation problem of satellites has become a hot research topic. This study proposes a model for satellite resource allocation through the development of a beam mobilization system model and problem modeling. Then, on the basis of the linear stochastic gradient descent method, the classification accuracy of the algorithm is improved by adjusting the algorithm-solving method. Then its weight assignment method is improved to get the improved weighted linear stochastic gradient descent method. Using the optimized weighted linear stochastic gradient descent method to solve the satellite resource allocation problem from the perspective of the original problem, a model based on IWLSGD is designed and tested for performance. Through simulation experiments, the beam allocation service value of the satellite resource allocation model in this paper is 193, which is 4.32% and 3.21% higher than that of LSGD and WLSGD, respectively, and iterative convergence is faster, and its operation time and service value performs the best under different numbers of communication time slots. The system revenue, system access success rate, and system satisfaction under the interference environment between LEO and GEO are maintained at 15208, 0.8~1.0, and 85%, and keep around 7500, 1, and 75% under 5G base station interference. The satellite resource allocation model in this paper can effectively improve the utilization efficiency of communication resources and better adapt to dynamically changing interference scenarios. © 2024 Demin Zhao et al., published by Sciendo.

Experimental verification of an online traction parameter identification method

Traction parameters, that characterize the ground-wheel contact dynamics, are the central factor in the energy efficiency of vehicles. To optimize fuel consumption, reduce wear of tires, increase productivity etc., knowledge of current traction parameters is unavoidable. Unfortunately, these parameters are difficult to measure and require expensive force and torque sensors. An alternative way is to use system identification to determine them. In this work, we validate such a method in field experiments with a mobile robot. The method is based on an adaptive Kalman filter. We show how it estimates the traction parameters online, during the motion on the field, and compare them to their values determined via a 6-directional force-torque sensor installed for verification. Data of adhesion slip ratio curves is recorded and compared to curves from literature for additional validation of the method. The results can establish a foundation for a number of optimal traction methods. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

In the current industrial environment, which is shifting towards an event-based control prone paradigm, sampling strategies in use must be revisited. Both temporal and magnitude dependent sampling strategies have been demonstrated to be suitable for control systems, reporting benefits in different categories. However, these sampling strategies also present some drawbacks, discussed in this contribution. Aiming to address some of these drawbacks, a new sampling strategy is proposed gathering characteristics of both predecessors.

Short circuit fault occurrence in high-voltage DC (HVDC) systems causes extremely high currents in a fast raising time that does not experience current zero-crossing. To protect HVDC systems/grids against fault current, fast HVDC breaker is an essential equipment. This study presents the design procedure of a novel HVDC breaker based on solid-state controllable reactor which is able to reduce the fault current's rate of rise and fault current amplitude to less than grid nominal current in the breaking process. The main achievement of the proposed HVDC breaker is that not only breaker does not encounter fault current, but also none of the series HVDC equipment is influenced by the fault. The designed breaker performance is studied by PSCAD/EMTPS, and then the simulation results are validated by the developed laboratory experimental setup.

One of the objectives of event-based control is the reduction of generated events to perform an appropriate process control. Among the event generation techniques used to this end, those quantifying the error signal can be found more frequently for its simplicity of implementation. However, they entail a drawback in the form of trade-off between event generation and performance. Aiming to reduce the number of events, specifically in the transient response, without degrading the performance, an error dependent sampling scheme is studied in this work.

To solve the power imbalance problem caused by the difference between the equivalent impedance of the inverter and the line impedance, and the power quality problem caused by the disturbance of load mutation, unbalanced load and nonlinear load, this paper proposes a closed-loop feedback dynamic compensation strategy based on the equivalent virtual impedance of the residual generator. Firstly, based on the parallel topology of inverters, a quasi-steady-state model is established on the dq axis. Based on the model, the power imbalance caused by the difference of output impedance and line impedance of different inverters and the power quality problems caused by load switching, unbalanced load, nonlinear load and other disturbances in parallel inverters are ***, a residual generator is established based on the inverter model. A virtual impedance equivalent controller Q vir (S) based on the residual generator is designed by the Luenberger observer principle. The disturbance information is fed back in real time through the feedback structure, and then the virtual impedance is adjusted to realize the power sharing of the inverter parallel system. Then, based on Euler parameterization and coprime factorization theory, a dynamic compensation architecture based on residual generator is designed. The transfer function of the dynamic compensation controller Q com (S) is obtained by model matching to realize the steady-state operation of parallel inverters and the improvement of system power quality. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed architecture is verified on the experimental platform.

Nowadays urban traffic is one of the most serious challenges for local authorities around the world. This challenge implies issues regarding health, energy, safety, environment and quality of life. As a part of this challenge, delivery and similar companies are relevant stakeholders in optimizing their routes, deliveries, and operational services. It is in this respect that urban traffic and its regulations play a key *** conditions in which urban traffic takes place thus have to be known and one way to deal with this is based on available and accessible data. In the IoT age, there could be huge amounts of available data generated by countless sensors and systems involved in our lives, cities, infrastructures, etc.... Taking advantage of such data, when the accessibility and quality is good enough, can help us to achieve the desired goals concerning the urban traffic and its consequences. Multi-Centroid Finite Particle Method and its Application in Dynamic Modelling of Industrial Robots

The dynamic modelling of industrial robots is of great value for analyzing the mechanism of robot vibration and improving the performance of robots. To meet the high-performance requirements of industrial robots, the impact of vibration of the robotic arm on the robot’s positioning accuracy cannot be ignored. However, traditional modelling methods rarely consider the manipulator vibration in ways that reflect the mechanism of the vibration coupling between the manipulator and joints of industrial robots. This paper examines the multi-centroid finite particle method and its application in the dynamic modelling of industrial robots, the method which uses a simple and unified framework for dynamic analysis of the model. Compared to the finite particle method, the reverse motion of its multiple centroids not only has a simpler derivation process, but also effectively reduces the influence of the element rigid body displacement on the solution of the pure deformation of the node, improving the convergence of the rigid body rotation-flexible deformation coupling model calculations. A cantilever beam model was used to verify the accuracy and convergence of the method. Furthermore, the multi-centroid finite particle method was combined with positive kinematics to model the dynamics of industrial robots, the results of which were compared with experimental data. It was shown that the modelling and the experimental results had a high degree of agreement, the mechanism of the vibration coupling of the robot arm and joint being further analyzed. © 2023, The Authors. Plantar pressure has been generally used to refer to the physical force exerted between the sole of the foot and ground contact during daily activities. Measuring plantar pressure provides data on foot in gait and posture, which is useful in footwear design, and other health-related applications for lower limb treatment and injury prevention. Therefore, to acquire accurate measurement of planta pressure is of paramount importance. To do so in a convenient and efficient fashion, this study developed a portable image-based plantar pressure measurement system. A portable pressure image box (PIB), which could be operated with any kind of portable photo-taking devices that are able to produce images with highly quantitative accuracy, was equipped to capture the needed plantar image. Based on the measurement data from 11 subjects, the performance indices of statistical metrics on mean square error (MSE) and normalized absolute error (NAE) of the 198 footprints show that the proposed PIB system could exhibit close agreement with the sensor-based Tactile pressure measurement system (TP) as a measurement reference. When compared with the high-cost image-based scanning machine (SM) system, the proposed PIB also showed better performance on plantar pressure measurement. The findings suggested the proposed PIB system could be another economical and viable option for plantar pressure measurement in assistive devices for footwear design or customized insole manufacturing. © 2021, Chinese Mechanical engineering Society. Growing crops in controlled-Environment Agriculture (CEA) farms, such as greenhouses and vertical farms, can help in meeting the demands of urban centers and achieving climate goals. Recently, many advanced control techniques like Model Predictive control (MPC) and its variants have been developed for energy-efficient operation and minimization of resource utilization. However, real-time implementation of these advanced strategies come along with certain computational hardware requirements, thus, increasing the operating costs. In this work, we propose to learn the MPC policy of a greenhouse control by means of a Deep Neural Network (DNN) in order to be implemented on a low-cost microcontroller. Additionally, we use a feedback law to reduce undesired quantization effects. The efficiency of our approach is exemplified by means of a simulation study for greenhouse control.
