At present, in the fields of mobile communication, aerospace and et al., the signal transmission quality problems caused by the structural damage of the coaxial cable have become increasingly prominent, and the fault diagnosis methods for the coaxial cable have also received extensive attention in the industrial field. However, most of the commonly used method, such as the numerical modeling-based methods only consider the effect of signal reflection and transmission delays, but the effect of signal attenuation is not discussed, which in turn undermine the effect of cable diagnosis method. In this regard, this paper proposes a method for analyzing the attenuation characteristics of coaxial cables based on Fourier decomposition. First, the attenuation characteristics of the coaxial cable on fixed frequency is measured by the vector network analysis. Then, the transmission attenuation for continuous frequency is modeled using the Support Vector Regression. Next, the arbitrary input signal is decomposed by Fourier Transform and the attenuation of the coaxial cable when any signal is input is finally established. This paper also carried out the pulse attenuation measurement experiment based on the hardware platform, and compared the measured results with the simulation results, which verified the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2024 IEEE.

Lithium-ion batteries are prone to capacity degradation during use, leading to a decline in their reliability and potentially causing catastrophic failures. This necessitates the study of advanced methods for estimating the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries. To address this need, this paper conducts research in three areas: the extraction of degradation features, the construction of health factors, and the development of predictive models, proposing a comprehensive framework for estimating the remaining useful life of lithium-ion batteries. Firstly, the general trends of external feature parameters as a function of cycling are observed to identify the features that indicate battery degradation. Next, the relationship between these features and battery capacity is determined using Grey Relation Analysis, allowing for the construction of an indirect health factor. Finally, a data-driven prediction method is employed to construct a predictive network model using Long Short-Term Memory networks, with the health factor used for training to accurately predict the health state of the lithium-ion battery. The effectiveness of the proposed remaining life prediction method is validated using the NASA Battery Set dataset from NASA Ames Research Center. © 2024 IEEE.

The AC-DC Energy Nodes (ADENs) concept offers a transformative approach to modernizing power grids, particularly in the context of supergrids. By centralizing power flows from diverse renewable energy sources, such as offshore wind farms, ADENs enable efficient long-distance power transmission through HVDC technology. This design enhances the balance of supply and demand across regions and countries, significantly improving grid stability and resilience. However, the implementation of ADENs presents substantial technical, regulatory, and cybersecurity challenges. This study delves into these challenges while also addressing the geopolitical complexities of transnational connections, underscoring the critical importance of policy alignment for successful deployment. © 2025 IEEE.

The modern monitoring and control systems that are currently used in most fields are based on intelligent algorithms, distributed management systems, and a new generation of communication buses. For the monitoring and control of the processes inside a greenhouse, the use of sophisticated algorithms or complex devices is not required. However, in order to make the activity more efficient and increase the production of a greenhouse, a proposed solution is to use data management and control devices such as PLCs, and the data acquired from the greenhouse to be retrieved by means of sensors connected to nodes with wireless transmission. The wireless communication variant proved to be the most efficient, in the greenhouse environment being an increased humidity due to the irrigation process of the plants. Also, the need for space for the plants requires giving up the wires drawn through the greenhouse. © 2023 IEEE.

Task scheduling algorithms are key to research and practice in parallel testing techniques, especially in control system applications. The complexity of control system testing requires higher scheduling efficiency. However, perturbation events caused by test equipment problems, data transmission obstacles, or task changes are almost unavoidable and may reduce the scheduling effectiveness or even lead to system crashes. Therefore, in this paper, based on the analysis of the dynamic test scheduling model, a disturbance factor is designed to judge the urgency of disturbance events for evaluating the dynamic scheduling cycle. On this basis, based on the comprehensive rescheduling index, a suitable adjustment strategy is selected to formulate the dynamic test scheduling scheme. The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper can achieve fast response capability for different disturbance events and exhibit good adaptivity. © 2024 IEEE.

Considering the constant growth and evolution of technology, being able to secure data is a challenge. This is why researchers find this a top research topic. Cyber-Physical systems are complex, large-scale systems that can be found in domains like healthcare, transportation, industrial controls systems or smart grids. Having many components that interact with each other, we can observe here the challenge in maintaining a secure environment for the data as data tampering or data extraction can occur, for example, in the actual transportation of data from one device to another. The main focus of this paper is to give an answer if blockchain technology provides a solution in building a secure network. We give a short review of the related work regarding blockchain integration in large-scale systems like Cyber-Physical systems. It was also briefly analyzed the layered structure of a blockchain and discussed some solutions for each layer. We then discussed about consensus algorithms for validation and authentication process. In general, consensus algorithms are implemented to assure the validation process of the nodes in a network. In this paper we tried to analyze and propose a model that offers an extra layer of security by adding the authentication step. In this way, the nodes that are validated are also considered trusted nodes in the network. © 2023 IEEE.

A Pango FPGA-based solution for merging and processing multiple independent video streams and reconstructing a real-time display system is presented. The system handles each video stream individually, then produces a combined video output in HDMI format. To ensure high efficiency and low latency, a parallel processing scheme and a hardware-oriented architecture are employed. The Pango PG50K FPGA board acts as the central hardware for managing inputs, reconstructing video, and producing outputs. Rapid-access DDR3-SDRAM ensures efficient data caching and signal integrity. This system is ideal for applications requiring rapid response, such as traffic monitoring and industrial automation, and supports quick algorithm iteration and optimization, enhancing performance and adaptability. © 2024 IEEE.

Postural monitoring in wheelchair users is a topic of growing interest. The detection of changes in the sitting patterns of these patients may serve to detect changes in their functional status and be able to adapt rehabilitation early. For this reason, this paper presents a methodology for the detection of specific postural anomalies that, unlike previous works, adopts unsupervised learning. The proposed methodology involves data dimensionality reduction using Principal Component Analysis, and the application of K-means clustering to group different normal posture states. The anomalies are detected using a threshold approach, where data points that fall outside a certain threshold are considered as anomalies. The results show that the methodology is effective in identifying anomalies with a high degree of accuracy (around 90%). © 2023 IEEE.

An innovative vehicle real-time positioning method was developed to maximize the use of existing visible light camera systems on vehicles, especially in areas without Global Positioning system (GPS) signals or blind spots. This approach eliminates the need for additional positioning devices and leverages the potential of existing vehicle driver assistance systems. As vehicles are equipped with cameras for monitoring the surrounding environment, we optimized the use of these existing resources for an efficient and accurate innovation in vehicle positioning. Firstly, we used cameras in four directions (the front, rear, left, and right) of the vehicle to capture images. By integrating images in four directions and using a transformation algorithm, a complete top-down view was formed with geographic information to enhance positioning accuracy. The integrated top-down view image is useful for obtaining information on surrounding environments and identifying the vehicle's real-time location in parking lots. The developed method serves as a foundation for future applications in automated driving planning and positioning. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper evaluates both the theoretical and empirical log-normal models for Wi-Fi fingerprint mapping in indoor positioning systems. Wi-Fi fingerprinting, leveraging the ubiquitous IEEE 802.11 protocol, offers a practical solution for indoor localization where Global Positioning system (GPS) is ineffective. It involves generating empirical data by systematically measuring Wi-Fi Received Signal Strength (RSS) within a complex indoor environment and formulating a log-normal path loss model to predict signal behavior. A comparative analysis was conducted between the theoretical model, calibrated with empirical RSS data, and the actual RSS measurements. The results showed that while the theoretical model captured overall signal propagation trends, the empirical data revealed variations due to multipath effects and environmental obstacles. It demonstrated the practical use of Wi-Fi fingerprint mapping, theoretical modeling, and comparative analysis. The findings underscore the importance of empirical validation in refining theoretical models and optimizing deployment strategies for accurate and reliable indoor positioning. Future research should focus on mitigating multipath effects and enhancing the theoretical model accuracy through optimized access point (AP) placement and advanced signal processing techniques. © 2024 IEEE.
