The problem of the delta operator formulated adaptive equalization is considered by the application of the delta operator least mean squares algorithm into the design of adaptive equalizer. The algorithm of adaptive decision feedback equalizer based on the delta operator (Delta-ADFE) is presented, and the updating-parameter expressions of decision feedback equalizer are also given. This paper focuses on the suboptimal regulation of multivariable discrete-time bilinear systems consisting of interconnected bilinear subsystems with respect to a linear quadratic optimal regulation criterion which involves the use of state weighting terms only. Three transformations are used in order to treat the scheme over an equivalent linear system. This paper presents EDUSCA, an EDUcational SCAda with OPC data access. EDUSCA was specially designed for automaticcontrol education, research and operator training purposes. The developed system takes advantage of the facilities offered by the OPC communication architecture. The system allows the students to face real practical problems, could be used to train operators in plant supervision and also allows the implementation of research functionalities. Their main advantages of EDUSCA are: (i) it can be connected to any plant whenever it includes OPC communications; (ii) it is free of licenses, thus it can be installed in many computers as necessary; (iii) it can be adapted to each application requirements and (iv) it allows the implementation of a diverse set of functionalities, as for example, control algorithms.

The efficiency of the distributed systems is most often dominated by the network communications between the different sites. In distributed database systems, the communication between the different sites is almost essential to satisfy a query. In order to minimize the time required to respond to a query in such systems, a reliable fragmentation technique is required to place the data as close to its user as possible. The placement of these fragments to the proper sites is a complementary step to assure the right position of these fragments. The previous fragmentation techniques provided a way for fragmentation of the database that is followed by an allocation technique to allocate the produced fragments as separate steps. The key idea of this paper is that it introduces a novel technique that combines both the fragmentation and allocation processes into one composite process thus putting into consideration the allocation constraints while fragmenting the data. It also simplifies the effort required to get the best fragments and the best location of these fragments. This proposed technique relies on a cost-based model rather than an affinity model as being used in previous techniques. The case of simple methods and complex attributes database is considered in this paper. The results obtained by the technique proofed the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed technique.

The paper deals with the frequency domain design of a robust power system stabilizer (PSS) for a multivariable power system. The proposed PSS design procedure is based on a novel approach that applies the independent design methodology to the so-called equivalent subsystems along with the well-known Small Gain theory and the robust stability conditions in the M-Δ setup. Theoretical results have been applied to the design of a robust multivariable PSS for a part of the Power System of the Slovak Republic.
