With the rapid development of information technologies such as digital twin, extended reality, and blockchain,the hype around "metaverse" is increasing at astronomical speed. However, much attention has been paid to its entertainment and social functions. Considering the openness and interoperability of metaverses, the market of quality inspection promises explosive growth. In this paper, taking advantage of metaverses, we first propose the concept of Automated Quality Inspection(Auto QI), which performs integrated inspection covering the entire manufacturing process, including Quality of Materials, Quality of Manufacturing(Qo M), Quality of Products, Quality of Processes(Qo P), Quality of systems, and Quality of Services(Qo S). Based on the scenarios engineering theory, we discuss how to perform interactions between metaverses and the physical world for virtual design instruction and physical validation feedback. Then we introduce a bottomup inspection device development workflow with productivity tools offered by metaverses, making development more effective and efficient than ever. As the core of quality inspection,we propose Quality Transformers to complete detection task,while federated learning is integrated to regulate data *** summary, we point out the development directions of quality inspection under metaverse tide.

With recent advancements in mobile computing, augmented reality (AR) applications can now achieve real-time performance. AR provides a novel way to engage with our surroundings. Platforms such as ARKit or ARCore make AR app development easy. ARchitect aims to allow users to experience different architectural styles and cultural heritages by altering the appearance of buildings in their environment. The presented solution utilizes deep learning and computer vision techniques to classify architectural styles, which is a challenging task due to the inter-class relationships between styles. The approach presented in the paper alters the style of a building detected from the phone’s camera and retrieves information such as its current style, age, and distance from the user. To train the deep learning models, a publicly available dataset of photos of buildings with 25 different styles is used. The obtained results for architectural style classification surpass state-of-the-art methods, demonstrating the effectiveness of deep learning techniques. Additionally, the presented approach for architectural style transformation is also promising and will improve as new research is conducted in image generation, monocular depth estimation, and surface reconstruction methods. © 2023, Politechnica University of Bucharest. The paper presents project and its verification of a prototype integrated circuit containing an analog, programmable finite impulse response (FIR) filter, implemented in CMOS 350 nm technology. The structure of the filter is based on the switched capacitor technique. In circuits of this type, one of main challenges is an efficient implementation of filter coefficients, which result from several factors described in this work. When implementing such filters as programmable circuits, the values of their coefficients have to be limited to a selected range, i.e. a given resolution in bits. In the implemented prototype filter, the filter coefficients are represented by 6 bits in sign-magnitude notation, so they can take 63 different values only. In such filters, it is not possible to directly implement any frequency response of the filter. Each time, it is necessary to properly round the theoretical values of the coefficients so that they fit into the available range of discrete values resulting from the implementation. The authors of the work designed an algorithm that allows such matching. This paper develops a predictive optimisationbased iterative learning control (ILC) strategy for the highperformance formation control problem in networked dynamical systems working repetitively. It avoids the need for exact model information in traditional methods and achieves high performance via a predictive framework incorporating a unique performance index that integrates both immediate and future performance. The proposed framework guarantees geometric convergence of the formation error norm to zero and is capable of handling both heterogeneous and non-minimum phase systems. A distributed implementation of the framework is developed using the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers to guarantee the framework's scalability for largescale networks. Rigorous convergence analysis and numerical examples are provided to confirm its effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

Brain-Computer Interface technology (BCI) evolved since 70', from a project made for studying brain affection to an approach of giving the ability to people with massive muscular affection. The basis of BCI is the electroencephalography technique (EEG) which captures brain signals from neuronal activity using electrodes placed on the scalp. These signals are interpreted as commands that can be used to control applications or external devices. EEG non-invasive approach is widely preferred due to non-critical procedures, and it doesn't need or require surgery which can be expensive and dangerous. The current prosthetic leg could be expensive, heavy, and hard to control by disabled people. To determine the functional and non-functional requirements of the user, and learn how users wish to engage with the prosthetic lower limb intelligent system, a quantitative questionnaire is offered in this study. The participant's responses will be considered the basis of the system design. The goal of this quantitative questionnaire is to build a low-cost, lightweight, and intelligent functional bionic prosthetic leg that meets the functional and non-functional requirements of the user. This system will be controlled by mind commands using a dedicated neuro headset. © 2022 IEEE.

Measuring luminous intensity using electronic sensors requires their precise positioning. In the case of mobile measurement platforms, it is important to detect the light source and thus determine the correct direction of movement of the measuring device. This article presents research on a solution for the initial detection of glowing airport lamps based on camera images. The impact of the selection of parameters and image processing methods on the prepared data set was assessed. The histogram filtration method was introduced to improve the effectiveness of airport lamp localization. The proposed solution was investigated in different weather and daytime conditions. The overall accuracy of the proposed solution is more than ${9 0 \%}$.

Ocean wave energy has de potential to satisfy 15% of EU energy demand, cutting 136 MT/MWh off the CO2 emissions by 2050, as stated by the EU Energy Road Map. Analogously, the Spanish Renewable Energies Plan specifically highlighted the Spanish marine energy potential with special emphasis in wave energy. In this context, Oscillating Water Column (OWC) converters are maybe nowadays the most promising wave energy converters, with the potential capability of sea energy harnessing from diverse on-shore and floating structures. This paper presents an analytic modeling of the wave capture chamber for a fixed on-shore OWC wave power plant. The model is particularized and parameterized for the case of the Mutriku MOWC wave power plant, located in the Spanish Basque Country coast, and then validated using both measured real wave entry data and experimental generated output power from the plant

The latest EASA recommendations from 2024 indicate the possibility of using machine learning techniques in aerodrome monitoring. The aim of the work was to analyze solutions and prepare FOD (Foreign Object Debris) object detection software on aerodromes. In order to implement the issue, a dataset of photos and video recordings for testing algorithms was developed. The dataset consists of 1480 photos showing FOD at aerodromes and photos of the runway itself, according to EASA and FAA recommendations. FOD detection was implemented using a classical, k-means method and effective YOLOv5.

automatic Term Recognition is used to extract domain-specific terms that belong to a given domain. In order to be accurate, these corpus and language-dependent methods require large volumes of textual data that need to be processed to extract candidate terms that are afterward scored according to a given metric. To improve text preprocessing and candidate terms extraction and scoring, we propose a distributed Spark-based architecture to automatically extract domain-specific terms. The main contributions are as follows: (1) propose a novel distributed automatic domain-specific multi-word term recognition architecture built on top of the Spark ecosystem; (2) perform an in-depth analysis of our architecture in terms of accuracy and scalability; (3) design an easy-to-integrate Python implementation that enables the use of Big Data processing in fields such as Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing. We prove empirically the feasibility of our architecture by performing experiments on two real-world datasets.
