In this research, the Human Following Robot (HFR) prototype has been designed and implemented using YOLO v3-Tiny and Tensor Flow Lite on Raspberry Pi hardware named Rewang. The HFR Rewang is designed to assist aircraft technicians by bringing maintenance tool kits to aircraft shelters. Rewang's movement is based on a camera as a vision sensor following the movement of human entities. Image input is processed by YOLO v3-Tiny through the determination of the bounding box, the calculation of Euclidean Distance, and the determination of the pixel value of the camera as the basis of Rewang's movement which is regulated by an L298N driver motor that controls two Direct Current (DC) motors for the left and right wheels. The test results show that Rewang can move at an average speed of 0.18 m/s at 2 m with a travel time of 11 seconds with a light intensity of more than 250 lux. The minimum and maximum distance of object detection is as far as 120 cm and 400 cm, with an object detection accuracy of 95.8%. Rewang allows the HFR to have a larger carrying capacity to bring more complete aircraft maintenance tools and is prospective for other aerospace and general applications.

In indoor vertical farming systems, managing dynamic and complex environments poses significant challenges. Traditional control strategies often fall short in adapting to rapid changes in critical parameters such as nutrient levels, climate conditions, and plant health indicators. To address these challenges, this paper presents a novel approach for optimizing indoor vertical farming using Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG), a reinforcement learning algorithm well-suited for environments with continuous action spaces. Our study focused on the control and monitoring of key parameters, including nutrient levels (pH and EC), climate conditions (temperature, humidity, light, and CO2 levels), and plant health indicators (biomass accumulation and leaf size structure). By defining a comprehensive state and action space, we simulated an indoor farming environment and trained the DDPG model to maximize crop yield and health.

This research aims to analyze the effect of ozone exposure time and lard mixture on the polarization angle of transmission of olive oil. The study uses a transmission polarization method with a laser (λ = 532 nm) as a light source. The research sample in the form of olive oil mixed with lard at a concentration of 10, 20, 40, and 80%, with an ozone exposure time of 0-30 minutes. The sample is subjected to external electric fields with variations from 0-4.5 x 102 kV/m to increase the change's polarization angle. The results showed that the change in polarization angle would change linearly with the increase in lard concentration with olive oil. Olive oil with a low concentration of lard (10%) experienced an increase in the change in polarization angle with a value of 0.31 due to the effect of 90 minutes of ozone exposure. In general, the results of the study showed that increased concentrations of lard, ozone exposure time, electric field strengths caused an increase in changes in the polarization angle in a mixture of olive oil and lard. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Molten salt has attracted the attention of researchers, especially as a coolant because of its characteristics. This study aimed to analyse the transient and steady-state of the natural circulation system in the molten salt loop with vertical heater and horizontal cooler using computational fluid dynamics. The computational fluid dynamics module in the COMSOL Multiphysics software was used to solve governing equations. Experimental data from several references were used as input data in modelling. The loop was modelled as a rectangular loop with Inconel 625 as the pipe material and molten salt (NaNO3+KNO3) as the working fluid. The variation of heater power was also carried out in modelling. The modelling results showed a good agreement with the experimental results. The results provided that the molten salt natural circulation loop with vertical heater and horizontal cooler showed good flow stability without reversal of flow direction. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Motor speed control system for conveyor applications based on PLC-VSD with 3D visualization

The industry needs the ability of electrical engineers to program PLC-based industrial automation systems. Training this ability requires a simulator to visualize designs/plants in 3D and relate to real industrial contexts. To make teaching participants understand PLC-based control systems more accessible, we created a 3D visualization simulator for the induction motor speed control system as a conveyor drive. This article discusses designing and constructing an induction motor speed control system simulator as a conveyor drive. Conveyor visualization using factory IO software with real input from PLC is connected in a closed loop with VSD, induction motor, and encoder. This simulator teaches how to determine optimal Proportional and Integral (PI) controlling parameters and analysis of system response when there is a change in load on the conveyor. As a result, based on a series of tests, the 3D simulator of the closed-loop system for controlling the speed of the induction motor on the conveyor is functioning correctly. Optimal PI parameters are 20 and 12, respectively. The design responds to load changes to return to the setpoint condition average 11 seconds.

Visible light-based human–machine interactive media is capable of transmitting electrical readouts to machines and providing intuitive feedback to users ***,many inorganic mechanoluminescent(ML)materials-based interactive media,typically ZnS-loaded phosphors(ZLPs),have been successfully ***,organic ML materials-based solutions were rarely exploited despite their huge merits of strong structural modification,abundant luminescence property,low cost,easy preparation,and so ***,we propose a novel interactive tactile display(ITD)based on organic ML materials(Cz-A6-dye)and triboelectric nanogenerator,with ultra-brightness(130%enhancement)and ultra-low threshold pressure(57%reduction)as compared to *** proposed ITD achieves the conversion of weak mechanical stimuli into visible light and electrical signals simultaneously,without extra power ***,the relationship between the luminous performance of organic ML materials and mechanical force is quantified,benefiting from the uniform ML layer *** by convolutional neural networks,the high-accuracy recognition(97.1%)for handwriting and identity of users is realized at the same ***,the ITD has great potential for intelligent wearable electronics and classified military applications.

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a semiconductor material with many applications, such as surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), photocatalysts, water treatment, and photoelectrochemicals. Controlling the properties of anatase TiO2 is typically challenging during TiO2 synthesis. Generally, achieving this control necessitates intricate conditions and processes. The solvothermal method is expected to be easier to control the formation of TiO2 with well-defined morphology and good crystallinity, hence, the band gap can be tuned well. However, there has been a lack of research on the effect of solvents in the solvothermal method of TiO2 synthesis on the optical band gap. Herewith, we report an easy-controlled solvothermal method by varying the type and composition of the solvent to modify the band gap of anatase TiO2. Interestingly, ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) analysis reveals an anatase TiO2 optical band gap between 1.66 to 3.60 eV, indicating that TiO2 obtained can be operated in the UV to visible light region. The solvents utilized for the titanium (IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) precursor in TiO2 synthesis are isopropanol (IPA), methanol (META), and ethanol (ETA). X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy show anatase TiO2 single crystalline phases synthesized by IPA and ETA solvents and the combination of polycrystalline and amorphous morphology TiO2 synthesized by META solvent. Anatase single crystalline phases are achieved for the solvent mixture with a composition ratio of IPA:ETA solvents of 1:2, 1:1, and 2:1. Our result shows that the optical band gap of single crystalline phase TiO2 can be engineered in a wide range via solvothermal method for green and sustainable material. © 2024, The Authors. Natural disaster nowadays often occur in Indonesia due to climate change, especially those related to atmospheric dynamics anomalies. The statutory event of atmospheric turbulence statistically is quite significant in its improvement. This is an important issue to conduct research both in the analysis of atmospheric dynamics and early detection solutions for these events. The Windshear phenomenon is an atmospheric turbulence disaster that occurs below an altitude of 3000 feet, often known as low level windshear (LLWS), which is very dangerous for planes taking take-off or landing. Its effect on the aircraft will result in increased airflow on the wings, so this increased airflow will result in a sudden increase in aircraft speed. If the pilot is not aware of the indication of the windshear, he will instinctively throttle back to reduce/compensate for the aircraft's speed. However, once the plane passes through the wind shear zone, the wind suddenly turns into a downdraft. The design of windshear early detection devices have been developed to complement research on the dynamics of the atmosphere. The results obtained are anomalous changes in temperature and atmospheric pressure at this time, and the windshear sensor can detect it well. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The tobacco industry is a source of incomes for our country. Currently, cigarette consumers in Indonesia are already very high. Quality is considered as an essential point for every industry to satisfy its customers. However, some problems often occur in the Industry. Including the decline in cigarettes quality. One of the reasons for the decline in the quality of cigarettes is the lack of selection of the sorting system on cigarette packaging. The lack of quality of the packaging system makes the quality of cigarettes decreased. In a tobacco company in East Java, the fetching of defective products is still done manually. Based on the problem, the author takes that study case as the background of this research. In this system, the packs of cigarettes will be detected and selected using image processing. On the image processing will be implemented as a method of convolution neural network (CNN) this algorithm has a function to detect texture from cigarette packaging. If there is non-conforming or defective cigarette packaging, the rejector will be active and discard the cigarette packaging and it will not enter into the next packing process. The result of training data from this study had a success rate of 96.06%. When using real-time data, the system is able to classify 148 data from 154 existing data correctly. The real-time system success rate is 94,59%. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.

One indicator of road's feasibility can be seen from the conditions on the road surface. Road damage that often occurs is the number of potholes or holes [1]. In this study, we made an inspection device that can detect hollow roads automatically. Where the results of the detection will be sent to the server along with the coordinates of the location of the hole that will be processed and used as data on information on roadworthiness in an area. So when conducting road inspections we do not calculate the number of manually perforated roads so that the inspection process will run faster and more efficiently. This tool works with the camera as the main sensor, the camera works with the eye to provide visual data in the form of real-time video [2]. The visual data is processed using the Convolutional Neural Network algorithm which has 480 x 320 pixels with convoluted 2 times and produces smaller pixels, so we obtain weights to be classified with datasets [3]. These results will result in a decision whether there is a hole or not on the road that has been inspected by this tool. In addition to knowing where the location of the damage is this tool is equipped with GPS. If a hole is detected, the tool will take a picture, then send the image and coordinates to the server, so that the server can find information on the hole in an area [4]. This study obtained a success percentage of 92.8% in detecting holes using the CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) method. © 2019 IEEE.
