To enhance the efficiency of motion planning, we introduce a new angle profile searching method known as Progressive Dynamic Local Search (PDLS). Building upon a collision-free multi-segment path established by the RSPM-PS algorithm, PDLS methodically computes angle profiles from the initial to the target pose, focusing searches near each point's predecessor. It refines the path's smoothness by adding intermediate points and sets the local search radius through the Jacobian matrix, optimizing convergence. Our method also innovates in assessing angle profile quality, introducing a combined error function that judiciously weighs the importance of position and attitude accuracy. Furthermore, we mitigate sudden changes in joint acceleration by interpolating angle profiles using a quintic polynomial. Tests in MATLAB and on a JAKA Zu311 manipulator demonstrate PDLS's advantages: reduced run times, precise calculations, and improved convergence rates. © 2024 IEEE.

This work is devoted to a detailed description of the quality flags of the Sampled Values protocol of the IEC 61850 standard for digital current and voltage transformers. The relevance of this article is due to the fact that the quality flags are not strictly and in detail described in the standard itself, therefore, manufacturers of equipment for digital current and voltage transformers fill in the quality flags if there are problems with data or device at their own discretion. The first part provides information on the structure of interaction between elements of a digital measuring system, describes the advantages of using quality flags in digital data transmission protocols relative to traditional transformers. In the second part, special attention is paid to the interpretation of quality flags in the IEC 61850 standard and the lack of a clear formulation of their applicability in real devices. The third part offers new interpretation of these quality flags with an example of use based on the developed measuring system. At the end of the article, evidence of the correct operation of the described quality flags is provided using a test bench and equipment for analyzing the Sampled Values protocol. © 2024 IEEE.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition is the main and currently remains the most promising method of automated control of complex dynamic systems. In this article the development of a software package installed on embedded Linux-based systems for managing and monitoring energy facilities is discussed. The main part of the article consists of 3 sections. The first section describes the structural diagrams of the entire software package. The UML diagrams of individual software modules designed for processing and transferring data to other devices are presented. The second section describes the structure and appearance of the web interface, describes possible scenarios for user interaction with the interface. At the end, the results of testing performed using a specially created test bench are presented. The entire software base of the developed complex was implemented by the authors of this article. The developed software package has unique characteristics in terms of functionality in conditions of limited resources, and therefore is fully suitable for managing energy facilities based on embedded systems. © 2024 IEEE.

The quick advancement of today's digital world and our daily reliance on the internet have a big impact on our lives. Especially in these days when automation is very easy, fraud and fraudulent activities against users have become quite common. One of the most common examples of these activities is fraud attempts through spam e-mails. Spam e-mails aim to hijack people's information, spread malware and defraud people by playing with their perceptions. Various spam detection methods and algorithms have been developed to prevent these problems. In this study, two models are proposed to detect spam e-mails using natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning methods: LSTM (Long Short Term Memory) and BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers). As a result of the studies on the Enron e-mail dataset, the BERT model showed 98.93% accuracy and 98.87% f-score performance. The LSTM model showed 97.47% accuracy and f-score performance. With these results, it is seen that the BERT model detects spam with higher accuracy despite the complexity in language structures. © 2024 IEEE.

Self-supervised learning has shown significant improvement within several disciplines including the health sectors and areas where acquisition of annotated data is difficult. This study focuses on the application of self-supervised learning in tackling cocoa disease detection and classification challenges by taking cocoa swollen shoot virus disease (CSSVD) and anthracnose. Self-supervised learning has proven to offer resilience against both OOD and adversarial attacks and as an alternative to the cost involved in the annotation process of the vast amount of data. This work leverages a contrastive self-supervised learning pretext model trained on cocoa leaves and pods, a remarkable performance was shown when we fine-tuned and pre-trained on a downstream task. Several works are being done on the subject of self-supervised learning and fully-supervised learning. In order to get the best out of these two techniques, we propose a hybrid approach which will combine both SLL and fully supervised learning. Thus in any deep learning project regardless of the amount of annotated dataset around, a pretext model should be developed from the dataset which can then be fined-tuned using the entire dataset at hand. Three models were developed and the best come in as a result of fine-tuning the learnt features using the entire dataset. After performing the downstream task (classification of cocoa diseases) a validation accuracy of 87%, 72% and 69% for the fine-tune, fully-supervised and pre-trained respectively were obtained. This approach holds promise for enhancing the productivity in crop management, particularly in regions like Ghana and Ivory Coast where their GDP relies on cocoa production © 2024 IEEE.

Aging-Aware Energy-Efficient Task Deployment of Heterogeneous Multicore Systems

Heterogeneous multicore systems, which consist of high-performance and power-efficient cores, are emerging to satisfy the various demands on performance and power consumption. On the other hand, as CMOS technology continues to shrink in size, the aging effect, which can cause performance degradation or timing failures, has become a non-negligible threat to lifetime reliability. To overcome the challenges under the aging effect, various approaches have been proposed in previous studies. Most previous studies, however, did not consider the different characteristics of big and little cores. In addition, most of them do not consider critical tasks with the strict timing requirements present in real-time applications, resulting in early system failure. Therefore, considering different characteristics of cores and the presence of critical tasks, we propose an aging-aware task deployment framework for real-time systems. In this framework, for high-performance big cores, we propose a novel asymmetric aging-aware strategy. This strategy finds an energy-efficient task-to-core assignment to reserve some healthy cores at the early system life stage. The reserved cores are kept idle with the lowest voltage and can execute critical tasks at the late system life stage, extending the system lifetime. Meanwhile, the nonreserved cores use lower voltages to execute tasks, reducing the aging effect. For energy-efficient little cores, we adopt the symmetric aging-aware strategy to balance out the aging effect of each little core. With a balanced aging effect, the utilization of little cores is improved. In addition, we propose voltage/frequency boosting and task migration techniques to increase the number of cores that can meet the task timing constraints. Compared to the state of the art, the proposed framework can achieve 1.10× lifetime improvement and 5% energy reduction. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

In permissioned blockchain networks,the Proof of Authority(PoA)consensus,which uses the election of authorized nodes to validate transactions and blocks,has beenwidely advocated thanks to its high transaction throughput and fault ***,PoA suffers from the drawback of centralization dominated by a limited number of authorized nodes and the lack of anonymity due to the round-robin block proposal *** a result,traditional PoA is vulnerable to a single point of failure that compromises the security of the blockchain *** address these issues,we propose a novel decentralized reputation management mechanism for permissioned blockchain networks to enhance security,promote liveness,and mitigate centralization while retaining the same throughput as traditional *** paper aims to design an off-chain reputation evaluation and an on-chain reputation-aided ***,we evaluate the nodes’reputation in the context of the blockchain networks and make the reputation globally verifiable through smart ***,building upon traditional PoA,we propose a reputation-aided PoA(rPoA)consensus to enhance securitywithout sacrificing *** particular,rPoA can incentivize nodes to autonomously form committees based on reputation authority,which prevents block generation from being tracked through the randomness of reputation ***,we develop a reputation-aided fork-choice rule for rPoA to promote the network’s ***,experimental results show that the proposed rPoA achieves higher security performance while retaining transaction throughput compared to traditional PoA.

This paper presents a novel approach to address the lateral control issue in trajectory tracking for autonomous cars. Traditional model-free adaptive control algorithms have some limitations, prompting the development of an enhanced data-driven model-free adaptive control scheme. More precisely, inside a specified trajectory, the vehicle's issue of lateral control is converted into a problem of tracking the preview-deviation-angle. A dynamic linearized data model is developed for the lateral control of autonomous cars, taking into account the input and output data. To enhance the steering angle control rate, a time-varying proportional control term is incorporated. An enhanced trajectory tracking control technique for the MFAC system is proposed, followed by a demonstration of its convergence. The simulation findings demonstrate that the IMFAC scheme exhibits a superior output response compared to both MFAC and PID in both low-speed and high-speed scenarios. Furthermore, the IMFAC system is capable of achieving autonomous vehicle path tracking. © 2024 SPIE.

Aiming at the problem of difficulty in accurately estimating the OFDM channel in wireless communication of high-speed trains, an improved SVD-LMMSE channel estimation method for OFDM systems is proposed. This article first introduces the OFDM system model, and then introduces several typical channel estimation methods: LS algorithm, MMSE algorithm, LMMSE algorithm, and SVD-LMMSE algorithm. Based on the above, a SVD-LMMSE channel estimation method based on improved DCT is proposed. This method utilizes the DCT algorithm and wavelet transform to decompose the channel autocorrelation matrix, achieving effective separation of channel noise components;Then, using singular value decomposition techniques to reduce the complexity of high-frequency noise sequences;Next, reconstruct the effective signal to obtain the denoised signal matrix;Finally, simulation tests were conducted using MATLAB, and the results showed that the error rate and mean square error performance of the channel estimation method were improved to a certain extent. © 2024 SPIE.

Design of a garbage classification system based on deep transfer learning

In light of the present challenges related to the insufficient autonomous identification and classification of garbage, along with the management and movement of garbage bins, a novel intelligent garbage classification system utilizing deep learning is suggested. This system is designed to autonomously identify types of garbage and to finalize the mobile garbage classification system for packaging. An analysis of the three-dimensional structure of the garbage bin and a dynamic examination of the motion system of the three-wheeled chassis are performed. The Raspberry Pi 3B and STM32 microcontrollers are employed for management, while the Inception v3 network structure algorithm is carefully adjusted and enhanced to facilitate garbage image recognition and classification. The outcomes of experimental research demonstrate that the fine-tuned and optimized Inception v3 network structure algorithm effectively facilitates the identification of garbage image recognition, and the model demonstrates superior performance in recognizing and categorizing images. This investigation offers a reliable approach for enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of garbage classification, thereby contributing to environmental protection and sustainable development. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.
