Simultaneous two-way classical communication and measurement-deviceindependent quantum key distribution on oceanic quantum channels

Simultaneous two-way classical and quantum(STCQ)communication combines both continuous classical coherent optical communication and continuous-variable quantum key distribution(CVQKD),which eliminates all detection-related imperfections by being measurement-device-independent(MDI).In this paper,we propose a protocol relying on STCQ communication on the oceanic quantum channel,in which the superposition-modulation-based coherent states depend on the information bits of both the secret key and the classical communication *** analyse the encoding combination in classical communication and consider the probability distribution transmittance under seawater turbulence with various interference *** numerical simulations of various practical scenarios demonstrate that the proposed protocol can simultaneously enable two-way classical communication and CV-MDI QKD with just a slight performance degradation transmission distance compared to the original CV-MDI QKD ***,the asymmetric situation outperforms the symmetric case in terms of transmission distance and optical modulation *** further take into consideration the impact of finite-size effects to illustrate the applicability of the proposed scheme in practical *** results show the feasibility of the underwater STCQ scheme,which contributes toward developing a global quantum communication network in free space.

Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) is an Operating System (OS) that does a task in a constrained time. The RTOS is integrated with the microprocessor or microcontroller for specialized applications where the time-bound completion of the task is very much substantial. ESP32 is a microcontroller that comes with a package of advantageous and suitable features for RTOS. The ability of equipment like motors, sensors, and actuators to multitask is critical in the Robotics and automation (R&A) industry. In industries, a dedicated/centralized system allocated for a particular activity is not economically feasible;yet, when performing several tasks, some delay or lag is introduced in the task. Consequently, the proposed solution for industrial multitasking is cost-effective and efficient. The RTOS is suitable for machines constrained to do painstaking work, like a robotic arm or CNC drilling. In the R&A industry, a hardware interruption is often critical for an emergency, which may also be accomplished using RTOS. In such applications, implementing a software timer is also essential to delay a task for a period of time. Stepper and servo motors are widely employed in the R&A industries for various applications. This article presents the multitasking of four stepper motors and the introduction of a software timer, which will be developed when the stepper motor multitasking is implemented. For multitasking, the FreeRTOS library will be utilized. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, the integration of advanced technologies in industrial control processes has gained significant attention, particularly in the domain of wastewater systems. One emerging technology with promising potential is Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), which offers secure and transparent data management through blockchain-based solutions. This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the performance impact that arises when incorporating DLT-based sensor authentication in industrial control processes of wastewater systems. Augmented hunger games search algorithm using logarithmic spiral opposition-based learning for function optimization and controller design

This paper explains the construction of a novel augmented hunger games search algorithm using a logarithmic spiral opposition-based learning technique. The proposed algorithm (LsOBL-HGS) is used as an efficient tool for both function optimization and controller design. To assess the performance of the algorithm for function optimization, benchmark functions from the CEC2017 test suite were employed and comparisons were made with available and good performing algorithms. In terms of controller design, the proposed LsOBL-HGS algorithm was utilized to design a FOPID controlled magnetic ball suspension system. Comparative assessments were also performed for FOPID controller design, as well using other state-of-the-art methods reported for the magnetic ball suspension system. The results showed that the proposed LsOBL-HGS algorithm has good capability for FOPID controller design employed in a magnetic ball suspension system as it provided an improvement of more than 13% in terms of the transient response-related parameters and more than 34% in terms of bandwidth compared to the best-reported approach used for comparisons. © 2022 Karabuk University

At high velocity flight, the infrared imaging system encounters significant aero-optical disturbances due to the uneven gas flow around the aircraft's forward section and the elevated temperatures of the optical dome. In the simulation study of aero-optical effects, hydrodynamic calculations of the gas flow field and optical dome are required. This paper examines the utilization of the solid-fluid coupling approach in simulating aero-optical phenomena from the perspective of fluid dynamics computations. This paper undertakes the geometric modelling of the airflow environment and optical dome of a blunt-nose front-window flight vehicle. Utilizing ICEM, the mesh generation for both the gaseous flow domain and the solid optical dome is executed. Subsequently, Fluent software facilitates the performance of hydrodynamic simulations, concurrently extracting vital parameters from both the flow field and the optical dome. The method in this paper can be used in the calculation and analysis of aero-optical effects of high-speed flight vehicles. © 2024 IEEE.

A machine learning (ML) framework is proposed to achieve the automatic and rapid optimization of antenna topologies. A convolutional neural network (CNN) is utilized as a surrogate model (SM) and is combined with reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms. Specifically, the RL agent interacts with simulation software to learn. Data accumulated from electromagnetic (EM) simulations are used to train the SM. The CNN-based SM predicts antenna performance based on the topology of the antenna. Subsequently, the SM replaces EM simulations within the RL training environment. The RL agent interacts with the CNN-based SM to search for the optimal topology. This approach significantly reduces dependence on time-consuming EM simulations. To validate the effectiveness of the optimization method, a center-fed microstrip patch antenna is optimized. Simulation results demonstrate that, compared to other optimization methods, impedance bandwidth is improved, while the number of simulation samples and optimization time are significantly reduced. © ACES.

Pansharpening involves synthesizing high resolution hyperspectral images (HRHS) by combining low spatial resolution hyperspectral (LRHS) images and panchromatic (PAN) images. Existing methods perform inadequately in extreme panchromatic sharpening, often resulting in excessively blurred HRHS images. The main reasons are the combination of inputs and training loss functions overly simplistic, and the spatial details of upsampling LRHS are severely distorted, which leads to the weakening of the neural network's ability to utilize the spatial information of PAN images. To address this issue, we propose a spectral-spatial dual injection network (SSDINet) combined with panchromatic loss for extreme pansharpening. SSDINet alleviates the blur problem of HRHS images during extreme pansharpening by adding an additional pseudo hyperspectral (PHS) image input and combining it with upsampling LRHS images to form an additional spectral injection branch that is different from spatial injection. Additionally, during network training, use an extra panchromatic loss to alleviates the problem of incomplete utilization of PAN images. Panchromatic mapping is realized by neural network. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of our approach compared to representative methods. © 2024 SPIE.

The ever-increasing complexity of industrial control systems generates a demand for reliable development methods. IEC 61499, a recent industrial standard, helps to develop complex distributed systems based on their positive characteristics, namely reusability, reconfigurability, interoperability, and portability. Formal verification techniques, such as model checking, have been proposed to ensure the correctness of these systems during the design time. However, they do not consider the presence of the environment that can impact the application behaviour at runtime. This work combines design time and runtime analyses to apply probabilistic model checking on an IEC-61499-based manufacturing application. We present several probabilistic properties to be checked. The results are visualised graphically to be analysed, which allows one to optimise the system's quantitative features, such as productivity. © 2024 IEEE.

In today's society, finding a suitable career is crucial. High school students frequently need to fully understand the notion of labor due to a lack of experience and practical knowledge in various disciplines. This renders students particularly vulnerable to external influences while deciding on a career path. As a result, students must carefully consider high-paying careers to ensure that they align with their interests and skills. Otherwise, students may end up in jobs they dislike or are not suited to. In response to this issue, we intend to develop a machine-learning framework capable of predicting career pathways. Students will receive career recommendation from our model based on their performance and potential. Students can confidently follow their chosen fields if they do well academically;if not, they can choose to change to other fields that better suit them. There are challenges in determining the metrics and improving prediction accuracy to quantify students' career paths and performance in teaching-learning. Best on the test results, the proposed model has a higher prediction accuracy. Also, this method is both reliable and portable, and it may be used to predict career paths in real time. © 2024 IEEE.

In Internet of Vehicles (IoV), edge computing alleviates congestion in the backbone network and significantly reduces the delay by deploying servers close to users. However, the existing fixed-site and fixed-capacity edge server deployment cannot effectively cope with the spatiotemporal dynamics of IoV end users, i.e., vehicles on road. Therefore, this paper proposes leveraging the inherent mobility of public buses to carry edge servers, and cooperate with fixed-site edge servers to provision elastic joint task offloading service for 1oV end users. We first build a multi-objective optimization model with fixed-site and bus-mounted servers to minimize the user delay, energy consumption, and payment cost. Then, a computation offloading strategy based on the Dung Beetle optimization algorithm is proposed. Taking into account the varying tolerance for delay among different tasks, a preprocessing method is adopted to set the offloading ratio for each task, thereby reducing the search space and accelerating the convergence speed. Furthermore, the maximum acceptable delay constraint is transformed into an unconstrained problem through the penalty function method. Experimental results verify that the proposed computation offloading algorithm outperforms various classical intelligent optimization algorithms in terms of the overall cost. © 2024 IEEE.
