An original technology for locating instantaneous phases of reflected seismic pulses is proposed. In order to construct high resolution seismic images the technology uses statistical radio-engineering methods for solving problems of optimal reflected pulses reception. Based on detecting and locating reflected seismic pulses phases the technology allows constructing wave lineups even in conditions of low quality field material. The technology allows reliably determining location of several phase reference marks for the same reflected seismic pulse that improves possibilities for tracing reflected waves lineups. Increasing the number of reflected seismic pulses, revealed on seismic traces, increases the number of wave lineups on gather that increase resolution of temporal section. The achieved high resolution of the temporal section contributes to solving further problem on determination of earth medium depth structure, i.e. on construction of higher resolution seismic images of depth sections. Such images ensure reliable determination of closely located reflecting horizons. The proposed locating technology has number of advantages compared with known seismic images constructing technologies because it does not use procedures distorting complex spectrum of received signals. © 2022 IEEE.

In the dynamic landscape of energy efficiency, a domain garnering ever increasing attention and urgency, the cornerstone of informed decision-making resides in the acquisition of reliable data. This paper summarizes the main approaches, methods and hardware used to gather, process and disaggregate such data on an appliance-by-appliance basis. The paper explores a critical analysis of the various models and techniques that support the gathering of energy data at the appliance level. A range of approaches, including hardware-based solutions such as smart meters, submeters, and sensor arrays, placing a special focus on intrusive load monitoring (ILM) and non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) algorithms that employ advanced signal processing and machine learning techniques, are examined for their effectiveness, scalability, and suitability for both industrial and commercial contexts. Furthermore, the challenges of data acquisition capabilities, reconciling scalability, cost-effectiveness, and user-friendliness - prerequisites for widespread acceptance and uptake are also investigated. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes an intelligent dynamic modeling method for strip rolling process. Actuators of a cold rolling mill perform actions, including work roll bending, intermediate roll bending, and roll gap tilting, to regulate the product quality. Conventional first-principles modeling necessitates intricate mathematical equations derived from process analysis and action evaluation. However, the complexity of the model increases the difficulty of upgrading the model. To address this limitation, a novel approach involving a deep neural network with a Gaussian distribution layer is proposed to effectively capture the process dynamics. A negative log likelihood is established as the loss function for the model using real-world industrial data. Experiment outcomes demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method in achieving an accurate dynamic model. © 2024 IEEE.

in the article we develop modeling and creating a prototype of improved solar power plant for economical power supply systems for consumers which require simple autonomous inexpensive practical energy solutions. On the basis of Arduino Uno microcontroller board, a software-hardware complex for controlling the angle of the solar panel has been developed, which allows to follow the position of sun and automatically turn the solar panel in its direction. With aid of developed Android application on a smartphone screen, it is possible to monitor the amount of voltage produced by the solar panel at current time moment, and to analyze the dynamics of its change over time and, accordingly, to plan effective use the generated energy. © 2024 IEEE.

The research on human emotion under electroencephalogram (EEG) is an emerging field in which cross-subject emotion recognition (ER) is a promising but challenging task. Many approaches attempt to find emotionally relevant domain-invariant features using domain adaptation (DA) to improve the accuracy of cross-subject ER. However, two problems still exist with these methods. First, only single-modal data (EEG) is utilized, ignoring the complementarity between multimodal physiological signals. Second, these methods aim to completely match the signal features between different domains, which is difficult due to the extreme individual differences of EEG. To solve these problems, we introduce the complementarity of multi-modal physiological signals and propose a new method for cross-subject ER that does not align the distribution of signal features but rather the distribution of spatio-temporal relationships between features. We design a Variational Bayesian Heterogeneous Graph Neural Network (VBH-GNN) with Relationship Distribution Adaptation (RDA). The RDA first aligns the domains by expressing the model space as a posterior distribution of a heterogeneous graph for a given source domain. Then, the RDA transforms the heterogeneous graph into an emotion-specific graph to further align the domains for the downstream ER task. Extensive experiments on two public datasets, DEAP and Dreamer, show that our VBH-GNN outperforms state-of-the-art methods in cross-subject scenarios. © 2024 12th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024. The main control objective for the quad-rotor system is the attitude and position tracking control which is accomplished in this article using the backstepping fractional-order sliding mode control approach combined with the adaptive tuning based barrier function theory. The quad-rotor's dynamical model is obtained at the appearance of the disturbance that is entered to the quad-rotor system by an exterior force. Hence, the attitude and position tracking errors between the quad-rotor's actual states and their desired trajectory are defined. Afterward, the fractional-order sliding surfaces are defined to guarantee finite-time reachability of the defined tracking error. The designed fractional-order surface eases the control process due to the removal of the high-derivative of virtual controllers. Then, the extended adaptive barrier function laws named fractional-order-based adaptive barrier function laws are employed to eliminate the knowledge of the upper bounds of external disturbances. The Lyapunov theory concept mixed with the backstepping control strategy is used to demonstrate that the fractional-order sliding surface reaches the neighborhood of origin in the finite time. Finally, simulation results in various scenarios on the MATLAB/ Simulink environment are provided to show that the designed control procedure in this article is an efficient control technique to assure that attitude and position's trajectories of the quad-rotor system track desired trajectories properly in the existence of the external disturbances. Moreover, the designed method is compared to the existing method to validate the efficiency of the proposed method. Lastly, experimental results using the Speedgoat real-time target machine is implemented to assure validity of the recommended method. © 1965-2011 IEEE.

The numerical analysis of complex event-continuous processes represented by the class of Cauchy problems with constraints on an event function is considered. The processes are specified in the developed unique textual-graphical language LISMA using Harel statecharts. The program models are edited, numerically analyzed, and their results are processed in the computer-aided analysis environment ISMA. The numerical analysis is performed using a collection of traditional and developed original explicit numerical integration methods of variable order and step with extended stability domains and an original algorithm detecting unilateral events in hybrid systems. The efficiency of the original methods has been tested on typical examples of hybrid systems. The chosen visual specification of program models satisfies the representation semantics of discrete-continuous processes with complex operational mode switching logic. Moreover, such a specification is understandable to an end user, who is rather interested in analyzing complex dynamic processes using simple and comprehensible tools for composing and editing models and being able to change the model structure and parameters fast. © 2022 IEEE.

Pressure ulcer is a common condition for patients who are bedridden or have limited mobility. In this study, two models of pressure ulcer on mouse ears were established, and the blood flow after pressure ulcers was monitored using a laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) system. Maps of blood flow revealed that after a single 1.5-hour pressure ulcer on the mouse ear, the blood flow perfusion at the compressed area gradually recovered over time, and essentially returned to normal by the 5th day. Conversely, with continuous daily pressure ulcers for 1.5 hours, the compressed area showed almost no perfusion by the 4th day, and the ulceration was fully formed by the 5th day. Compared to white light imaging, LSCI offers more precise monitoring of blood flow at pressure ulcer sites. The research solves the problem of dynamic functional monitoring of the blood flow velocity changes at spatial resolution. It provides a new technology for dynamic assessment of pressure ulcers, and offers a new method for the care and treatment of clinical patients. © 2025 SPIE.

Instruction-Following Language Models (IFLMs) are the state-of-the-art for solving many downstream tasks. Given their widespread use, there is an urgent need to measure whether the sentences they generate contain toxic information or social biases. In this paper, we propose Prompt Association Test for the Italian language (ItaP-AT): a new resource for testing the presence of social bias in different domains in IFLMs. This work also aims to understand whether it is possible to make the responses of these models more fair by using context learning, using "one-shot anti-stereotypical prompts". © 2024 CEUR-WS.
