The three single-phase combined (TSC) topology has been ruling the power converter industries for many years. In this research, TSC topology with Lithium Battery DC source is proposed for 400Hz Ground Power Unit (GPU) due to its advantages particularly in increasing the system flexibility and reliability. Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) is one of the most viable PWM techniques for inverter, however, it is shown that SPWM has no good contribution on three phase control system, hence, Space Vector Modulation (SVM) technique is now more widely used. This paper proposes a novel effectual three-dimensional Space Vector Modulation (3D-SVM) technique for three single-phase combined inverter, which can provide up to 27 switching states, expanding the possible range to find the best decision boundary to compare with traditional SPWM. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through MATLAB simulations. © 2023 IEEE.

Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) are widely used due to their numerous benefits. It is critical to get rotor position and speed information in order to operate the motor accurately. Sensorless control techniques have emerged as a popular study area both at home and overseas. The sliding mode observer (SMO) may indirectly detect rotor position and has the benefits of easy implementation and efficient algorithms. In this study, a mathematical model for sensorless control of a PMSM is developed using SMO, vector control, and other techniques. With a surface-mounted PMSM as the study object, a mathematical model for sensorless control of PMSM is developed. PMSM's sliding mode observer model is built in the matlab/simulink environment. Experiments demonstrate that the system can track the rotor position and speed of the motor precisely and fulfill the requirements of sensorless vector control of PMSM. © 2023 IEEE.

Sparse mobile crowdsensing (SMCS) achieves urban-scale environmental sensing by assigning tasks to workers in specific subareas and inferring global data from the collected information. However, the effectiveness of SMCS is often limited because many studies overlook workers’ mobility and data collection time during subarea selection, as well as the time constraints of the sensing cycle in task assignment. This may affect the task completion timeliness and data quality. To address these issues, we develop a subarea evaluation method based on deep reinforcement learning, considering both the temporal effectiveness of sensing tasks and the importance of subarea selection for data inference. Using the subarea evaluation values derived from this method, we establish an online urban sensing task assignment model which is subject to constraints of sensing cycle time and cost budget. This model aims to find the task assignment result that minimizes data inference error by maximizing the comprehensive utility value. Considering the characteristics of the task assignment model, we propose an evolutionary algorithm named OTA-EA, which is based on an improved genetic algorithm. Its enhanced evolutionary operators can avoid generating infeasible solutions while maintaining robust search and optimization performance. Lastly, we conduct experimental evaluations of these methods on the real-world datasets. The results demonstrate that our subarea evaluation method can significantly reduce the data inference error, and our evolutionary task assignment algorithm can achieve better task assignment results than the baseline algorithms. © 2014 IEEE.

Skin cancer is one of the most deadly forms of cancer in the world, causing hundreds of deaths every year. Researchers have been developing various computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems to help medical professionals classify the types of skin cancer using different image modalities. In this paper, we propose a model, which combines the outcomes of three separately trained attention-based convolutional neural networks (CNNs) using the Dempster-Shafer theory. The three base learners used in this paper are ResNet50, InceptionResNetV2 and Dense-Net201, each of which is aided by a soft attention module. For evaluating the proposed model, we have considered a publicly accessible skin cancer dataset, called HAM10000. This is a challenging dataset to work with as it is a class imbalanced dataset. Our proposed approach yields an accuracy of 0.932, which is better than many recently published methods found in the literature. Electric power steering systems (EPS) are increasingly prevalent in modern vehicles, and over-the-air (OTA) updates offer a convenient method for improving their performance and functionality in the system lifecycle. OTA capability is important to improve control structure with state-of-the-art artificial intelligent (AI) powered novel control algorithms. AI also helps to improve personalized driving characteristics to the best performance. However, OTA capability introduces new security vulnerabilities that could be exploited by attackers. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of potential attack paths within an OTA-enabled EPS system. Critical components and data flows susceptible to manipulation are identified to manipulation and are explored the potential consequences of successful attacks. Based on this analysis, a security concept is proposed to mitigate these identified risks. Proposed security concepts aim to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the EPS system throughout the OTA update process. This research contributes to the development of secure and reliable OTA updates for electric power steering systems, promoting safety and functionality in modern vehicles with applying ISO 21434 [1] requirements and recommendations. © 2024 IEEE.

Wideband direction of arrival (DOA) estimation using sensor array is a noteworthy problem frequently occurring in many applications involving radar, sonar, and communication. We present a wideband DOA method based on a sparse Bayesian learning of multiple sub-bands jointly with the redundant dictionary matrix at the reference frequency. Explicitly enforcing the focusing operation and the singular value decomposition (SVD) to sensor measurements is motivated by a desire to decrease the computational complexity and storage capacity. A joint sparse Bayesian learning framework is proposed to deal with multiple sub-bands under one segment to obtain the DOA information. Moreover, the proposed method can be directly extended to multiple segments. Comparing to other wideband DOA estimation methods, the proposed method has the advantages of increased resolution, higher accuracy, and correlation of the sources, as well as not requiring the initial angles for the focusing matrix. Simulations are provided to show the effectiveness and improved performance of the proposed method. © 2024 SPIE.

In order to reduce thrust ripple, this paper proposes a new primary permanent magnet linear machine with uneven pole (UP-PPMLM). Firstly, the proposed structure and advantages compared to conventional structure are introduced. Then, the expressions of air-gap flux density by permanent magnets (PMs) and armature reaction are derived. Finally, by using finite element method (FEM), the new topology reasonability is proved. Meanwhile, the performances of proposed machines are compared to conventional topology, and the result confirms the electromagnetic performances of the proposed machine have been greatly improved. © 2024 IEEE.

The aluminum foil mill is an important industrial production equipment. To reduce operation and maintenance costs and prevent breakdowns in the rolling mill, it is necessary to analyze and predict the data of different sensors of the mill, including voltage, current, temperature and others. In this paper, the problem analysis and modeling of the actual rolling mill production process are carried out, and the typical data of sensors are analyzed based on the Transformer model. Experimental results are compared with other typical time series prediction models. The final results show that the Transformer model has great potential in the predictive maintenance of aluminum foil mill. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

An industrial process typically consists of multiple production modes, and transitions between two modes often cause difficulties for process monitoring. For the transitions between steady-state modes, it is common to ignore or combine them with other modes for modeling. The former is likely to cause false alarms, and the latter reduces the detection rate of the monitoring process. Efficient and accurate demarcation of the transition mode from the steady mode presents an intriguing research topic. To address this issue, this paper presents an innovative iterative mode merging approach for multimode process monitoring with transition mode. The data is segmented according to the proportion of principal components to the total space, and then iterative mode merging (the merging of data of the same mode) is performed according to the reconstruction error of the probabilistic principal component analysis (PPCA) model. A case study using a multiphase flow dataset demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

Application of Robust control Toolbox for Time Delay Systems implemented in the Matlab system to the oscillating plant with uncertain time delay using the D-K iteration and algebraic approach. The algebraic approach combines the structured singular value, algebraic theory and algorithm of global optimization solving remaining issues in structured singular value framework. The algorithm of global optimization can be alternated with direct search methods such as Nelder-Mead simplex method giving solutions for problems with one local extreme. As a global optimization method, Differential Migration is used proved to be reliable in solving this type of problems. The D-K iteration represents a standard method in the structured singular value theory. The results obtained from the D-K iteration are compared with the algebraic approach. © 2023 IEEE.
