Networked systems often relies on distributed algorithms to achieve a global computation goal with iterative local information exchanges between neighbor nodes. To preserve data privacy, a node may add a random noise to its original data for information exchange at each iteration. Nevertheless, a neighbor node can estimate other’s original data based on the information it received. The estimation accuracy and data privacy can be measured in terms of (ϵ, δ)-data-privacy, defined as the probability of ϵ-accurate estimation (the difference of an estimation and the original data is within ϵ) is no larger than δ (the disclosure probability). How to optimize the estimation and analyze data privacy is a critical and open issue. In this paper, a theoretical framework is developed to investigate how to optimize the estimation of neighbor’s original data using the local information received, named optimal distributed estimation. Then, we study the disclosure probability under the optimal estimation for data privacy analysis. We further apply the developed framework to analyze the data privacy of the privacy-preserving average consensus algorithm and identify the optimal noises for the algorithm. The paper provides the description of 13 structured and simulation modeling systems: AnyLogic, Arena, Bizagi Modeler, Business Studio, Enterprise Dynamics, ExtendSim, Flexsim, GPSS W, Plant Simulation, Process Simulator, Rand Model Designer, Simio Simul8. The routes of dynamic objects movement in modeling systems in structured models built in these SSMS are visually represented. SSMS are compared according to structural models of M/M/5 queuing systems obtained in these SSMS and the difference of simulation modeling from analytical modeling results. The reliability was assessed by the values of mathematical expectation and standard deviations of quantity and time indexes. The paper aims to select SSMS for modeling probabilistic objects in conformity with the area the object refers to, consideration of simulation modeling results credibility, and users personal preferences as well. © Springer International Publishing AG 2017.

To reduce the overflow of the wastewater and high expense caused by redundant arrangement of the stations of pumps in the urban drainage system,a hybrid logistic optimization model is proposed to choose the locations of pump stations and the corresponding optimal control algorithm is also developed in this *** inflow in the conduit from rainfall is estimated based on rainfall-runoff model and meanwhile the performance of the pump is described by the nonlinear pump *** determining the optimal pump locations by the optimization algorithm,this paper further studies the energy saving optimal control of the *** taking both the position and the working situation of the pumps into consideration,the energy consumption of the system and the frequency of overflow can be brought down effectively.

Mono-crystalline silicon is widely applied in the photovoltaic and the integrated circuit *** power supply,as the key element of the mono-crystalline silicon growth furnace,plays an important role in the performance of the whole *** this paper,we propose a new kind of two-stage silicon growth furnace heating power supply topology *** first stage three phase rectifier employs the compound active clamp zero voltage soft switching(CACZVS) three-phase power factor correction(PFC) converter to achieve unity power factor and DC bus voltage regulation,and the second stage DC/DC converter employs phase shifted full bridge zero voltage and zero current soft switching converter(FB-ZVZCS) to regulate the output *** with the heating power supply of non-controlled rectifier type or three-phase power factor correction circuit using hard switching,the proposed two-stage converter structure can achieve high power factor,high efficiency and more flexibility of *** simulation results show the correctness of the analysis.

The cooperative robust output regulation problem for a class of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems with an exactly known exosystem has been studied recently. This paper further studies the same problem for a class of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems subject to an unknown exosystem. We first show that the problem can be converted into the adaptive stabilization problem for a modified augmented system composed of the given multi-agent system and the distributed internal model. Due to the uncertain parameter in the exosystem, the augmented system is a nonlinear multi-input system with both dynamic and static uncertainties. By combining the adaptive control technique and the robust control technique, we solve our problem by a distributed adaptive robust state feedback controller.

This paper proposed an arctangent function based integral augmented nonlinear differentiator (IAND) for obtaining of the noise-less derivative signal from a noisy measurement signal. The basic idea of proposed IAND with high noise-attenuation effect is to establish the differentiator by expanding the signal dynamics with extra state variable representing the integrated noisy measurement, then with the integral of measurement as input, the IAND is formulated to achieve better noise suppression ability without appreciable delay. Moreover, the convergence characteristic and anti-noise property in the frequency domain are analyzed via singular perturbation theory and describing function method, respectively. The simulation comparison results with other differentiators show the superiority of IAND in noise suppression.

The diagnosis of possible faults in railway signaling systems is an important issue to provide safe travel and transportation in railways. Signaling system designers have to consider the possible faults which may occur in railway field components both on the requirements preparation phase and on the development phase of the signaling system software or namely, the interlocking system. Although the diagnosis of different unobservable faults is relatively hard, especially for large scale railway fields, this complexity can be overcome by using the Discrete Event system (DES) based modular diagnosis approach which is explained in this paper. The main advantage of using such modular approach for fault diagnosis in fixed-block signaling systems is the inspection of the diagnosability of the whole system with respect to its subsystems (railway field components). In this study, the diagnosability of the railway field equipment and the whole system is also explained with a case study. © 2016

Since the recursive nature of Kalman filtering always results in a growing size of the optimization problem, state estimation is usually realized by use of finite-memory, receding horizon, sliding window, or "frozen" techniques, which causes difficulties on stability analysis. This paper proposes a novel method on selection of an initial covariance matrix and a horizon for the Kalman filter to make sure that a sequence of the closed-loop Kalman filters are stable as time-invariant filters at subsequent time instant. Convergent properties of Riccati Difference Equation (RDE) are first exploited. Based on these properties, sufficient conditions for stability of a sequence of Kalman filters are obtained. Compared with the existent literature, the convergent properties and the stability conditions are less conservative since they provide analytic results and are applicable to more common cases where the RDEs are not monotonic. © 2017 X. Distributed trajectory optimization for multiple solar-powered UAVs target tracking in urban environment by Adaptive Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm

Aiming at the trajectory optimization of the solar-powered UAVs (SUAVs) cooperative target tracking in urban environment, the distributed model predictive control (DMPC) method based on Adaptive Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm (AGOA) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the cooperative target tracking problem in urban environment is modeled by formulating the SUAVs kinematic and target models, the urban environment constraints, solar power harvesting and consumption models for SUAV, and sight occlusions by constructions. Especially, the sight occlusions in urban environment for SUAV are taken into consideration for the first time in this paper. A judgment method of sight occlusions for SUAV is proposed to make the calculation of the energy index more precise. Second, based on the precise modeling, the DMPC method is adopted as the framework for trajectory optimization in real time. Third, AGOA, a novel intelligent algorithm to mimic the behaviors of grasshoppers, is proposed to be the DMPC solver. The proposed AGOA has a better searching ability than the traditional GOA and some other intelligent algorithms by introducing some improvement measures e.g. the natural selection strategy, the democratic decision-making mechanism, and the dynamic feedback mechanism based on the 1/5 Principle. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by the simulations.

A hierarchical urban network control with integration of demand balance and traffic signal coordination

This paper concerns the integration of demand balance control and traffic flow coordination control in a hierarchical framework for complex urban traffic networks. At the first level, a complex traffic network is first partitioned into several subnetworks. The traffic dynamics in each subnetwork is modeled by utilizing the concept of Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram (MFD), which relates the network-wide space-mean flow and the number of vehicles at the aggregated level. This model aims at designing a demand balance model predictive controller (MPC), which can improve the internal flow inside the subnetwork by regulating the input flows from outside. At the second level, based on a more detailed traffic flow model, the signal timings of all intersections for each subnetwork are determined by a flow coordination MPC controller, which aims at distributing the number of vehicles in each subnetwork as homogeneously as possible. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is investigated via simulation under different scenarios on a hypothetical urban traffic network, and the performance is compared with other control strategies. © 2016
