This paper combines the regional pole placement technique with the geometric control theory to design the feedback control for the nonlinear wind turbine generator system (WTGS), which can improve the dynamic response efficiently. Through constructing the appropriate diffeomorphism and feedback linearization, the key variables of the original nonlinear WTGS can be remained in the transformed linear-form system, which sustains that the dynamic response could be adjusted in the transformed linear framework. Due to the multi-input multi-output (MIMO) and high-order characteristics, the regional pole placement technique is then applied on the feedback linearized WTGS, which can guarantee the limitation of several performances related to the dynamic response. In such a way, the dynamic response of WTGS can be adjusted through the feedback linearization and regional pole placement techniques. Simulation results show the effectiveness of our results.

Very fast transient over-voltage (VFTO), induced by disconnector operations in gas- insulated switchgears, has become the limiting dielectric stress at ultra-high voltage levels. Much work has been done to investigate single-strike waveforms of VFTO. However, little study has been carried out investigating the repeated strike process, which would influence VFTO significantly. In this paper, we carried out 450 effective experiments in an ultra-high voltage test circuit, and conducted calculations through the Monte Carlo simulation method, to investigate the repeated strike process. Firstly, the mechanism of the repeated strike process is proposed, based on the ex- perimentai results. Afterwards, statistical breakdown characteristics of disconnectors are obtained and analyzed. Finally, simulations of the repeated strike process are conducted, which indicate that the dielectric strength recovery speed and polarity effect factor have a joint effect on VFTO. This study enhances the understanding of the nature of VFTO, and may help to optimize the disconnector designed to minimize VFTO.

Based on the battery charging and discharging regulator (BCDR) in spacecraft power conditioning unit application, a bidirectional DC-DC converter BCDR with high direction-changing frequency is proposed in this paper, including the Weinberg-buck bidirectional DC-DC topology and the corresponding bidirectional control. Additionally, the test on the BCDR prototype shows that BCDR parallel modules could achieve the quick switching between charging and discharging with the direction-changing frequency meeting the requirement of 1 kHz, the regulated power bus of small voltage ripple, and high charging and discharging efficiency, in agreement with the expected design.

This paper presents a belief rule inference method for controlling the system with uncertain parameters. It uses the belief rule base (BRB) to model nonlinear relationship between system deviation and its integral, differential (inputs) and the controlled variable (output), in which the antecedent and consequent attributes of rule are the referential values of the inputs and output respectively. For the rules activated by the inputs, the evidential reasoning (ER) algorithm is used to combine the belief structures of these rules so as to reason out the value of the controlled variable. Moreover, a nonlinear optimization strategy is given to enhance the accuracy of initial parameters of BRB. A representative experiment on the separately excited DC motor with uncertain parameters illustrates that the proposed method can give more accurate control actions than the classical fuzzy-PID control method.

A sliding mode control design for a miniature unmanned helicopter is presented. The control objective is to let the helicopter track some predefined velocity and yaw trajectories. A new sliding mode control design method is developed based on a linearized dynamic model. In order to facilitate the control design, the helicopter's dynamic model is divided into two subsystems,such as the longitudinal-lateral and the heading-heave subsystem. The proposed controller employs sliding mode control technique to compensate for the immeasurable flapping angles' dynamic effects and external disturbances. The global asymptotic stability(GAS) of the closed-loop system is proved by the Lyapunov based stability analysis. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed controller can achieve superior tracking performance compared with the proportionalintegral-derivative(PID) and linear-quadratic regulator(LQR) cascaded controller in the presence of wind gust disturbances.
