Generating realistic and diverse road scenarios is essential for autonomous vehicle testing and validation. Nevertheless, owing to the complexity and variability of real-world road environments, creating authentic and varied scenarios for intelligent driving testing is challenging. In this paper, we propose DiffRoad, a novel diffusion model designed to produce controllable and high-fidelity 3D road scenarios. DiffRoad leverages the generative capabilities of diffusion models to synthesize road layouts from white noise through an inverse denoising process, preserving real-world spatial features. To enhance the quality of generated scenarios, we design the Road-UNet architecture, optimizing the balance between backbone and skip connections for high-realism scenario generation. Furthermore, we introduce a road scenario evaluation module that screens adequate and reasonable scenarios for intelligent driving testing using two critical metrics: road continuity and road reasonableness. Experimental results on multiple real-world datasets demonstrate DiffRoad’s ability to generate realistic and smooth road structures while maintaining the original distribution. Additionally, the generated scenarios can be fully automated into the OpenDRIVE format, facilitating generalized autonomous vehicle simulation testing. DiffRoad provides a rich and diverse scenario library for large-scale autonomous vehicle testing and offers valuable insights for future infrastructure designs that are better suited for autonomous vehicles. How to represent the temporal information corresponding to each fact in temporal knowledge graphs (TKGs) effectively is always challenging. Most existing representation learning methods usually map the timelines of knowledges into multiple points and ignore the underlying continuous time property and periodic characteristics behind those dense timestamps in finer-time granularity temporal knowledge graphs. A novel Knowledge Evolution with Time Duration (KETD) model is proposed for knowledge representation of temporal knowledge graphs with finer-time granularities. It represents the entity embedding as a time-varying nonlinear function to find the specific continuous time property from dense timestamps. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first attempt to learn embeddings of time durations and combines them into embeddings of entities and relations to predict potential periodic facts. It also uses the temporal point process to capture the impact of historical facts on the current fact. The experiments on self-built finer-time granularity TKG of Satellite-to-Earth Communication (STEC) and two public datasets have demonstrated the superiority of KETD compared to some baseline approaches.

In this paper, we propose a new framework for supervisory control of discrete-event systems in tactical environments. In contrast to the standard supervisory control theory, where the environments are considered fully adversarial, we consider the possibility of the presence of attackers who have their own objectives that may not necessarily be in opposition to the specification of the supervisor. We formulate this scenario as a Stakelberg game in the leader-follower setting, where the designer proposes a supervisor, and the attacker takes a best response to the supervisor. We characterize the solution to the Stakelberg supervisory control problem as having both cooperative and antagonistic solutions. Moreover, we provide an effective algorithm for synthesizing a cooperative supervisor that enables both players to achieve their objectives. Our work makes an initial step forward from the traditional zero-sum setting of supervisory control theory to the non-zero-sum setting. Examples are provided to illustrate our results.

In this paper, we propose a precise LiDAR SLAM in optimization framework using plane-like object as landmark. Compared to general methods, finite plane feature is used to represent landmark and a new residual model is designed, making constraint from edge of landmark can be used to limit the parallel position between LiDAR and landmark, leading to a more accurate result. Moreover, floor plan is used to provide global pose for reduction of drift, and additionally feature orientation prior is used to prevent map distortion when updating the inaccurate part of floor plan. Experiments are conducted using data collected in real environment. The result qualitatively shows that proposed method can build a corrected map from floor plan without distortion, and quantitatively verifies that proposed method can outperform other baseline methods in accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

The proliferation of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) advocates a distributed paradigm for coordinating PEV charging. Unlike existing primal-dual decomposition or consensus methods, this paper proposes a cutting-plane-based distributed algorithm considering a peer-to-peer (P2P) communication network, which enables asynchronous coordination among PEVs. First, an equivalent surrogate model is established by exploiting the duality of the original optimization problem, which masks the private information of individual users by equivalent transformation. Then, a cutting-plane based algorithm is derived to solve the surrogate problem in a distributed manner with intrinsic superiority to cope with various asynchrony. Critical implementation issues, including distributed initialization, distributed cutting-plane generation, and localized stopping criteria, are discussed in detail. Numerical tests on IEEE 37- and 123-node feeders with actual data illustrate that the proposed method is resilient to several asynchronies and admits the plug-and-play operation mode. The proposed methodology is expected to provide an alternative path toward the robust protocol for PEV charging.

Due to rapid 3D acquisition advancements, LiDAR point clouds are prevalent in emerging applications like heritage preservation, mobile robotics, and remote sensing. Yet, the sheer data volume poses challenges for transmission and storage, especially in autonomous driving. This paper introduces an efficient coding framework for compressing large dense LiDAR point cloud maps. By recording timestamps and quaternion matrices during map construction, we reduce map compression to sequence compression. The scans are segregated into intra-frames and inter-frames. For intra-frames, a quadric surface fitting intra-prediction technique eliminates spatial redundancy. For inter-frames, by constructing the 3D scene using encoded intra-frames, the inter-frame can be simulated according to its posture and LiDAR intrinsic parameters. Coding focuses on the difference between actual and predicted point cloud data. Decoding reverses this process, reconstructing the point cloud map from the decoded sequence and quaternion matrices. KITTI dataset experiments show the point cloud map can be averagely compressed to 3.43% of its original size while maintaining centimeter-level precision. This outperforms both octree and Google Draco methods.

In this paper, an insulator missing defect detection method is proposed based on unmanned aerial vehicles to solve the problem of glass insulator burst fault detection in high-voltage transmission lines. Firstly, the proposed method utilizes the improved Mask R-CNN (region-based convolutional neural network) algorithm to segment insulator strings in aerial images. Then, the constructed encoder-decoder network is used to extract and reconstruct features of the insulators, resulting in residual images. Finally, the residual images preserve the location information of the fault and obtains the result of missing insulators. The experiment shows that the proposed algorithm has high segmentation accuracy for insulators and high recognition accuracy for insulator missing faults.

Phase retrieval seeks to reconstruct a series of image sequences from measurements that only capture their magnitudes. Current approaches either flatten and stack the image sequences, disregarding their multidimensional structural information, or fail to account for errors within the sensing vectors/tensors. To address these two issues simultaneously, we propose a unified framework for the phase retrieval problem, namely tensor total least squares (TTLS). Specifically, we set up a tensor representation for image sequences and the corresponding measurement model, and for the first time employ the advanced tensor ring network to effectively explore the inherent multidimensional structure for more accurate estimation. Moreover, in addition to the additive noise, the multiplicative errors within the sensing tensor can be also well-corrected, leading to a more robust estimation. Experimental results on both simulated data and real videos demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method.

In this paper, the dynamic stiffness characteristics of digital electro-hydraulic actuator are analyzed, and the influence of the introduction of digital valve on the electro-hydraulic actuator is studied. Based on the actual working conditions and requirements of digital electro-hydraulic actuator, the dynamic stiffness models of digital electro-hydraulic actuator and servo valve controlled electro-hydraulic actuator are established respectively. Two testing methods were used to complete closed-loop dynamic stiffness simulation, and the digital valve control system and the servo valve control system are compared and analyzed. By changing different system parameters, the sensitivity analysis of dynamic stiffness parameters of digital electro-hydraulic actuator is realized. Finally, the optimization of system control parameters is realized, and the optimization direction of the system parameters of the digital electro-hydraulic actuator is provided. © 2023 IEEE.

Sign language plays an important role in information transmission and emotional communication between the hearing-impaired and the outside world. It is expressed through a rapid and complex combination of gestures, body postures and facial expressions. In this paper, Google's MediaPipe framework is used to extract and process key point information of hands. Depth features are used to supplement the RBG diagram. A framework of skeleton sensing multi-modal recognition suitable for complex scenes is proposed. This can be used to deal with the problem of sign language recognition of multi-modal information in different scenes. However, most of the existing sign language recognition methods are traditional convolutional networks and LSTM. Although they have excellent achievements in image recognition and video recognition, their application in sign language recognition does not conform to the characteristics of sign language. In this paper, a Swin Transformer model is used to process both depth information and RGB information. Finally, statistical data fusion method was used to fuse the depth prediction results with RGB prediction results. Experimental analysis shows that this method performs well in sign language recognition in complex scenes compared with existing methods.
