In this paper, the problem for the control of a class of single-input-single-output (SISO) non-affine nonlinear system with non-varnishing disturbance is investigated. A continuous nonlinear feedback structure is utilized to tackle with the uncertain dynamics in the system. By taking the time derivative of the origin system, a transformed affine-like form is derived. The first order derivative of control input appears linearly in the augmented dynamics with unknown control direction. Nussbaum-type function is incorporated to estimate the unknown control direction. A revised Lyapunov based analysis is carried out to prove that under some moderate assumptions, the Semi-global Uniformly Ultimately Bounded (SGUUB) tracking result is achieved and all the closed loop signals are bounded. Numerical simulation results are presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed control law.

In this paper, an alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) based real-time model predictive control (MPC) algorithm is presented. With the use of indicator function and by introducing extra consensus constraints, the constrained MPC problem can be formulated as a separable MPC problem, which can be computed very efficiently by projected gradient descent ADMM update steps and Riccati recursions. The sequence of the objective value of this constrained real-time ADMM-type MPC algorithm satisfies a linear convergence rate. The procedure is also extended to distributed systems with constraints, in which the variables of each subsystems communicate with their neighbors and update in the Gauss-Seidel way. An illustrative example shows the effectiveness of this approach.

PFC (Predictive Functional control) is a simple but very effective SISO (Single-Input Single- Output) predictive controller which does not require any matrix inversion or numerical minimization of a cost function, therefore it is easy to realize in a PLCs (Programmable Logical controllers) or a DCS (Decentralized control Systems). The manipulated variable and/or its increment, as well other variables can be constrained easier than when using PI(D) (Proportional, Integrating, and Derivating) controller. Furthermore PFC handles the dead time process better than with PI(D) controller. Three industrial applications of PFC for two distillation columns and a reactor in a petro-chemical plant were implemented and the experiences are presented here.

Reconstructing the shape of a bubble will lay a firm foundation for further description of the dynamic characteristics of bubbly flow, especially for a single rising bubble or separate bubbles whose interaction could be neglected. In this case, the rising bubble is usually simulated as an ellipsoid consisting of two semi-eUipsoids up and down. Thus the projected image of a bubble consists of two semi-ellipses. In this paper, a method for reconstructing the ellipsoid bubble model is described following digital image processing, using the Hough transform in 2D ellipse parameter extraction which could cover most of the bubble edge points in the image. Then a method based on characteristic symmetric matrix is described to detect 3D bubble ellipsoid model parameters from 2D ellipse parameters of projection planes. This method can be applied to bubbles rising with low-velocity in static flow field much in conformity with the projection theory and the shape variation of the rising bubble. This method does not need to solve nonlinear equation sets and provides an easy way to calculate the characteristic matrix of a space ellipsoid model for deformed bubble. For bubble application, two assumed conditions and a calibration factor are proposed to simplify calculation and detection. Errors of ellipsoid center and three axes are minor. Errors of the three rotation angles have no negative effect on further study on bubbly flow.

A nonlinear self-excited vibration model of main drive system in cold rolling is established. The mechanism of torsional vibration in main drive system stability is discussed within multiple scale method as well as Hopf bifurcation theorem. Then, the periodic solutions and condition of Hopf bifurcation are derived and the influence by subcritical/supercritical bifurcation is analyzed. Electrical tomography is widely used in industrial process and clinical science because of its characteristics of fast response and continuous monitoring. Image reconstruction algorithms are proposed and developed to improve the quality of reconstructed image. In the continuous monitoring, the size of object is always changing, so it is important to compare imaging ability of different algorithms for different size of object. In this paper, circle models and square models of different size object are established. Through the analysis of image error and correlation coefficient, ten image reconstruction algorithms are evaluated detailed.
