Deep learning has become a popular tool for fault detection in industrial processes to learn complex nonlinear ***,the features extracted from most traditional deep networks usually ignore the geometric characters and singularities of the process *** representative features cannot be extracted effectively,which may lead to the inaccurate modeling and is not beneficial for the process ***,this paper proposes a feature learning method based on multifractal analysis and stacked autoencoder(MF-SAE) for fault detection in complex multivariate ***-SAE can learn high-level multifractal features from the raw data in an unsupervised *** analysis is frrst introduced to extract the multi-scale self-similar characteristics from industrial process data,in which sigmoid function is added for preprocessing the process *** to the redundant information existing in the multi-scale feature,SAE is then utilized to learn key feature from the extracted multifractal *** learned hidden feature and residual feature are provided to construct the monitoring *** fault detection performance of MF-SAE is tested on the Tennessee Eastman(TE) process.

The electricity demand is increasing due to environmental concerns, and economic benefits, leading to a shift towards renewable energy sources. However, the intermittent nature of renewables makes forecasting difficult. Microgrids ran help integrate small-scale renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, and non-renewable sources to address this challenge. Demand varies based on factors like time, location, season, climate, and resource availability. The primary aim of this research is to offer a thorough analysis of the latest advancements in isolated Alternating current (AC) microgrids, focusing on discussing Energy Management System (EMS) strategies. Specifically, the study emphasizes the integration of hybrid Renewable Energy Resources (RERs) with Energy Storage Systems (ESSs). Additionally, the paper presents potential research directions and future trends in this field. © 2023 IEEE.

The remarkable success of foundation models has sparked growing interest in their application to single-cell biology. Models like Geneformer and scGPT promise to serve as versatile tools in this specialized field. However, representing a cell as a sequence of genes remains an open question since the order of genes is interchangeable. Injecting the gene network graph offers gene relative positions and compact data representation but poses a dilemma: limited receptive fields without in-layer message passing or parameter explosion with message passing in each layer. To pave the way forward, we propose GenoHoption, a new computational framework for single-cell sequencing data that effortlessly combines the strengths of these foundation models with explicit relationships in gene networks. We also introduce a constraint that lightens the model by focusing on learning the predefined graph structure while ensuring further hops are deducted to expand the receptive field. Empirical studies show that our model improves by an average of 1.27% on cell-type annotation and 3.86% on perturbation prediction. Furthermore, our method significantly decreases computational overhead. Overall, GenoHoption can function as an efficient and expressive bridge, connecting existing single-cell foundation models to gene network graphs.1 © 2024 IEEE.

Time delay analysis is very crucial when it comes to the synchronization of chaotic systems. All practical dynamical systems are described by differential equations, hence the presence of time delay in dynamics becomes a pivotal part of the system analysis. So, in this article, an attempt has been made to study the synchronization problem of two identical same-ordered time-delayed chaotic systems, in strict-feedback form as described in (2) and (3) in master and slave configuration. Unlike other conventional nonlinear control techniques, the back-stepping control design strategy is used to serve the purpose of synchronization. The main advantage of using the back-stepping control technique is that it utilizes only a single scalar controller to attain synchronization among different chaotic systems. A generalized control function u∈ R is designed for the same. For verification of the theoretical results, the 3D time-delayed Genesio-Tesi chaotic system is considered both a master and slave system. Simulation results are provided to support the proposition. © 2023 IEEE.

The complex permeability of magnetic cores acts as a vital factor in electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering choke design and optimization. Many efforts have been reported for toroid cores, but fewer target those with other shapes, such as EE, EI, UU, and UI cores. Owing to their commonly used in planar EMI filters, determining the complex permeability of them is of significance. Targeting EE cores, this paper presents a flexible printed circuit board (PCB)-based fixture adapter tailored designed for performing the measurement, while the corresponding core permeability can be calculated through magnetic flux path length analysis. The experiments validate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed methods, spanning a wide frequency range up to 120 MHz. ©2024 IEEE.

This paper is concerned with the problem of safety stabilization for switched systems where the solvability of the problem under study for individual subsystems is not assumed.A new state-dependent switching strategy with guaranteed dwell-time for switched systems is constructed,and a sufficient condition for absence of Zeno behavior is ***,a novel switched control design method is proposed to simultaneously guarantee the safety of the switched closed-loop system and stabilize the system based on the union of a common barrier function and a single Lyapunov function,which effectively handles the conflict between safety and stability ***,two examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design approach.

This paper investigates the path-guided distributed formation control of networked autonomous surface vehicles(ASVs) subject to model uncertainties and environmental disturbances. A safety-certified path-guided coordinated control method is proposed for multiple ASVs to achieve a distributed formation in obstacle environments. Specifically, a neural predictor with a high-order tuner is presented to approximate unknown nonlinearities with accelerated learning performance. Subsequently, control Lyapunov functions(CLFs) and control barrier functions(CBFs) are constructed for mapping stability constraints and safety constraints on states to control inputs. A quadratic optimization problem is constructed with the norm of control inputs as the objective function, CLFs and CBFs as constraints. Neurodynamic optimization is used to deal with the quadratic programming problem and generate the optimal kinetic control signals, thereby attaining the desired safe formation. Unlike the high-order CBF, a CBF backstepping method is proposed to establish safety constraints such that repeated time derivatives of system nonlinearities can be avoided. The multi-ASVs system is ensured to be input-to-state safe irrespective of high-order relative degree. Through the Lyapunov theory, the multi-ASVs system is proven to be input-to-state stable. Finally, simulation results are presented to validate the efficacy of the presented safety-certified distributed formation control for networked ASVs.

Much of the data obtained by health professionals for diagnosis and therapies applied to children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Down Syndrome (DS) depend on visual observations and interviews with family members and clinical assessments. Therefore, the use of sensors has the potential of complementing this process by generating quantitative data. This work demonstrates that the use of sensors embedded in a Socially Assistive Robot (SAR) developed at UFES/Brazil, termed Mobile Autonomous Robot for Interaction with Autistics and Trisomy 21 (MARIA T21), can be used as a centralized tool to quantify more objective measures of children’s spatial, postural and social behavior during the interaction with the robot through Serious Games (SG) projected on the floor by the robot. The information generated can help therapists in the application of more efficient therapies, as well as monitor the evolution of the children submitted to the protocol with the robot. The results demonstrates the feasibility of using these sensors and evidence the requirements to be evolved. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The synergies between electricity and other energy resources could promote energy utilization efficiency in electricity *** this context,this paper proposes a bi-level stochastic optimization model for the joint operation of a coordinated wind power plant(WPP)and natural gas generating(NGG)-power to gas(P2G)suppliers participating in the day-ahead(DA)market and real-time(RT)market as well as providing real-time auxiliary *** coordinated supplier’s payoff is maximized in the upper level with consideration of the uncertainties of WPP output capacity and RT electricity price,while the social welfare of the grid is maximized in the lower *** results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed bidding model of the coordinated WPPs and NGG-P2G suppliers by examining its bidding behaviors and benefits with comparisons of four other bidding models.
