Robust H∞ control for uncertain T–S fuzzy systems with state and input time delays: A time-varying matrix-dependent zero-equality method

This paper studies robust H∞ control problems for uncertain T–S fuzzy systems with state and input time delay. A modified Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional is constructed by considering membership-function-dependent matrices and delay-product-type matrices. To ensure that the derived results do not involve higher-order delay terms, a method of introducing augmented variables is used. In particular, a time-varying matrix-dependent method is used to link the zero-equalities generated during the mathematical derivation, which increases the freedom of selection of the constant connection matrix and may produce new time-delay cross-term information. Then, a less conservatism stability condition is established, and a robust H∞ controller is designed to ensure that the T–S fuzzy system achieves a predefined H∞ performance level. Finally, two examples are used to verify the feasibility and superiority of the obtained results. © 2024 The Franklin Institute

Safety Control of Switched Systems via Multiple Barrier Functions

This paper is concerned with the problem of safety control for switched systems, where different safe sets are allowed for different subsystems and safety is not necessarily possessed for subsystems. A necessary and sufficient condition is presented for safety of switched systems by exploiting a multiple barrier functions (MBFs) method. To reveal the relationship about safety between subsystems and switched systems, an extended Nagumo's Theorem in the switched systems framework is derived. Also, several switched control design conditions are respectively provided to ensure safety of switched systems. Based on the union of MBFs and multiple Lyapunov functions (MLFs), a novel safety-critical control framework is established to simultaneously ensure safety and stability of switched systems. Also, an auxiliary cost function is introduced to transform the safety-critical optimal control (SCOC) problem of switched systems into the one of non-switched systems. Finally, three examples are illustrated to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

This paper investigates the bipartite consensus problem of multi-agent systems(MASs) on the clustered and signed networks with reset control. We divide the agents into several subclusters which are in two camps with interactions within and outside the subclusters represented by different topologies. Through constructing a non-negative connected digraph with directed spanning trees in each subcluster, the agents within the subcluster can achieve local consensus by interacting in continuous ***, a signed graph of structural balance is used to indicate the relationships between subclusters are cooperative or antagonistic. Our main contribution is to propose a bipartite consensus protocol for interaction between subcluster leaders at discrete moments. The bipartite consensus formula and the Linear Matrix Inequality(LMI) condition are analyzed by using the gauge transformation. The results show that the bipartite consensus value is affected by the initial state of the agents, the interaction topology of intra-subcluster and the signed graph of inter-subcluster. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to verify the correctness of the bipartite consensus protocol.

Distributed Asymptotic Secure Estimation for Cyber-Physical Systems under Stealthy Attacks: An Interval Observer-Based Method

This paper focuses on the problem of distributed asymptotic secure estimation for cyber-physical systems (CPSs) under stealthy attacks and unknown but bounded process disturbance. First, interval observers based on two-point observers are constructed to produce upper and lower bounds for the attacks. Then, augmented systems with a resort to auxiliary variables are introduced, and algebraic relationships among augmented states, disturbance and attacks are obtained by interval estimations of the augmented system outputs. Further, from the algebraic relationships, distributed secure estimation, including distributed state estimation and stealthy attack reconstruction, is designed and achieves omniscience asymptotically. Compared with the existing results, a novel interval observer-based distributed estimation approach is proposed, which can realize simultaneous state estimation and attack reconstruction. Finally, a simulation example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed distributed estimation strategy. © 2014 IEEE.

With the excessive consumption of fossil energy and the growing environmental pollution caused by its combustion, the gas turbine system (GTS) plays a key role in distributed renewable energy fields due to its versatility, efficiency and controllability. This paper focuses on the adaptive constraint regulation problem for the GTS with time-varying load disturbance, thereby facilitating exact speed tracking to regulate the fuel flow for the turbine under variable load conditions. Therein, a residual transformation dynamics based on the performance function are established for triggering the preset-time residual convergence and output performance constraints. Then, an adaptive constraint controller is developed to ensure the desired regulation level of the GTS. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed strategy can mitigate the load disturbance effect and guarantee the GTS performance constraints.

A Method for Modifying LSPR Biosensors With CeF3 and Gold Nanobipyramids to Optimize the Sensitivity and Detection Limit of Interleukin

Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technology is an advanced analytical method in the field of biological analytes detection. In order to break the limit of sensitivity and limit of detection (LOD) of optical fiber SPR sensor and enhance small change detection, a novel high-sensitivity optical fiber localized SPR (LSPR) sensor modified by cerium fluoride (CeF3) and gold nanobipyramids (Au NBPs) is proposed in this work. The refractive index sensitivity of the sensor is as high as 9414.90 nm/RIU, which is 4.99 times that of the traditional SPR sensor. The CeF3/Au NBPs sensor was applied to the detection of interleukin- 1β (IL- 1β ) and IL-10. For IL- 1β , the sensor’s sensitivity and LOD are 11.16 nm/(μg/mL) and 0.90 ng/mL. Compared with the traditional sensor, the sensitivity is increased by 3.73 times, and the LOD is reduced to 28.48%. For IL-10, the sensitivity and LOD of the sensor are 10.90 nm/(μg/mL) and 0.92 ng/mL, respectively. Compared with traditional sensors, the sensitivity is increased by 4.29 times, and the LOD is reduced to 23.35%. The sensor modified by CeF3 and Au NBPs shows excellent performance and broad development prospects in the field of low concentration biological analytes detection. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

In this paper, we study a cooperative linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control system with a single user and a server. In this system, the user runs a process and employs the server to meet the needs of computation. However, the user regards its state trajectories as privacy. Therefore, we propose a privacy scheme, in which the user sends data to the server intermittently. By this scheme, the server's received information of the user is reduced, and consequently the user's privacy is preserved. In this paper, we consider a periodic transmission scheme. We analyze the performance of privacy preservation and LQG control of different transmission periods. Under the given threshold of the control performance loss, a trade-off optimization problem is proposed. Finally, we give the solution to the optimization problem.
