Reliable interaction force sensing between an exoskeleton and the human body is crucial for personalized support and efficient control. Poor donning and disturbances during movement lead to lower force measurement quality and thus to unfavorable use. In this work, we present an active smart human-robot interface by utilizing compliant actuator-sensor units (CASUs) that can be worn over clothing. These units combine capacitive force sensing and actuation using Shape-Memory Alloy (SMA) to actively compensate disturbances and improve force measurement by tightening the interface and reestablishing optimal contact. We present a pilot user study with five subjects, investigating the performance of an exoskele-ton interface featuring three integrated CASUs to compensate for non-ideal donning configurations and displacements during daily activities of walking, sitting down, and climbing the stairs. The results for a passive interface show a decrease in holding forces and force signal quality during activities. Our active interface, on the other hand, effectively compensates for disturbances, restoring high signal quality by the mean of peak-to-peak value up to 300% which leads to more distinct signals.

This paper concentrates on the issue of H ∞ reliable bumpless transfer control for a category of switched systems (SSs) with state and rate constraints. The H ∞ reliable bumpless transfer control problem refers to designing a collection of reliable controllers and a switching rule to ensure the SSs to satisfy the bumpless transfer performance and H ∞ reliable property. First, a concept of the bumpless transfer performance for a system in this category with possible actuator faults is introduced. Then, by a multiple Lyapunov functions approach, a switching rule and a set of reliable controllers are co-designed to assess the disturbance tolerance capability with bumpless transfer performance and to solve the H ∞ reliable bumpless transfer control problem of the system. Second, a criterion guaranteeing the bumpless transfer performance and H ∞ reliable property of the system is established. The criterion allows each subsystem not to possess both the bumpless transfer performance and H ∞ reliable property. Further, an algorithm is proposed to estimate the attraction domain of the system without disturbances. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented control scheme is verified by an example of controlling a turbofan model.

Optimizing the curvature shape of shoe last is an important research content and a promising direction in current shoe-last design. The emergence of plantar pressure imaging method provided a new technical mean for shoe-last design. The point-cloud dataset was acquired from the plantar pressure experiments which may be used for generating comfort shoe-last curvature, and the key zones on last curvature may be classified and has potential benefit to the designers to produce comfort shoe. In this paper ensemble learning technologies are applied for classifying those points through the proposed weights-updated algorithms. The proposed weights-updated algorithm with boosting operation performed high effectiveness by comparing to k-NN, random forest (RF) and Bayers (NB) in classification accuracy. The proposed boosting based ensemble learning method will be potential applied in interactive design of industry and be beneficial to produce comfort shoes.

With the continuous emission of energy in the past years, the environmental problems are becoming more and more serious. For example, in manufacturing, the energy efficient scheduling problem has become particularly prominent, and attracted much attention of the researchers. As a common scheduling problem in the real world, the research on distributed blocking hybrid flow shop (DBHFSP) is very few. In this paper, we will carry out a study of the problem. Because of its NP-hard character, therefore, we use the intelligent optimization algorithm to solve the problem. we firstly introduce the MILP model of the DBHFSP, then, the Q-learning method combined with the IG algorithm framework (IGQ) is proposed to solve this problem. In the experimental part, through the experiment results and comparison with other algorithms in the recent literatures, the proposed algorithm shows the excellent performance in the simulation experiment with the objective of minimizing the energy consumption.
