Path planning is a crucial part of autonomous navigation when regarding autonomous aerial vehicles, often demanding different priorities such as the length, safety or energy consumption. Dynamic programming and geometric methods have been applied to solve this problem, but in recent years, more work has been developed using artificial intelligence approaches, such as reinforcement learning. In this paper we propose an offline path planning method for static environments using Q-learning. An optimal policy is found weighting three important factors: path length, safety and energy consumption. Due to a well balanced exploring/exploiting ratio, the proposed method can lead the agent to the desired destination starting from anywhere in the map. Simulations are done in different scenarios to address the performance of the proposed method and it showcased that the algorithm is able to find feasible paths in each scenario while regarding different set of priorities.

Background: To evaluate the effect of the weighting of input imaging combo and ADC threshold on the performance of the U-Net and to find an optimized input imaging combo and ADC threshold in segmenting acute ischemic stroke (AIS) lesion. Methods: This study retrospectively enrolled a total of 212 patients having AIS. Four combos, including ADC-ADC-ADC (AAA), DWI-ADC-ADC (DAA), DWI-DWI-ADC (DDA), and DWI-DWI-DWI (DDD), were used as input images, respectively. Three ADC thresholds including 0.6, 0.8 and 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s were applied. Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) was used to evaluate the segmentation performance of U-Nets. Nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test with Tukey–Kramer post-hoc tests were used for comparison. A p <.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The DSC significantly varied among different combos of images and different ADC thresholds. Hybrid U-Nets outperformed uniform U-Nets at ADC thresholds of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s and 0.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p <.001). The U-Net with imaging combo of DDD had segmentation performance similar to hybrid U-Nets at an ADC threshold of 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p =.062 to 1). The U-Net using the imaging combo of DAA at the ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s achieved the highest DSC in the segmentation of AIS lesion. Conclusions: The segmentation performance of U-Net for AIS varies among the input imaging combos and ADC thresholds. The U-Net is optimized by choosing the imaging combo of DAA at an ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s in segmentating AIS lesion with highest DSC. Leukemia is a kind of blood cancer that damages the cells in the blood and bone marrow of the human *** produces cancerous blood cells that disturb the human’s immune system and significantly affect bone marrow’s production ability to effectively create different types of blood cells like red blood cells(RBCs)and white blood cells(WBC),and *** can be diagnosed manually by taking a complete blood count test of the patient’s blood,from which medical professionals can investigate the signs of leukemia ***,two other methods,microscopic inspection of blood smears and bone marrow aspiration,are also utilized while examining the patient for ***,all these methods are labor-intensive,slow,inaccurate,and require a lot of human experience and *** authors have proposed automated detection systems for leukemia diagnosis to overcome these *** have deployed digital image processing and machine learning algorithms to classify the cells into normal and blast ***,these systems are more efficient,reliable,and fast than previous manual diagnosing ***,more work is required to classify leukemia-affected cells due to the complex characteristics of blood images and leukemia cells having much intra-class variability and inter-class *** this paper,we have proposed a robust automated system to diagnose leukemia and its *** have classified ALL into its sub-types based on FAB classification,i.e.,L1,L2,and L3 types with better *** have achieved 96.06%accuracy for subtypes classification,which is better when compared with the state-of-the-art methodologies.

In this work, a thorough assessment of the robustness of complementary channel HfO2 ferroelectric FET (FeFET) against total ionizing dose (TID) radiation is conducted, with the goal of determining its suitability for use as high-performance and energy-efficient embedded nonvolatile memory (eNVM) for space applications. We demonstrate that: i) ferroelectric HfO2 thin film is robust against X-ray and proton irradiation;ii) FeFET exhibits a polarization state dependent radiation sensitivity where the high-VTH (HVT) state sees noticeable negative VTH shift and low-VTH (LVT) is immune to irradiation, irrespective of the channel type;iii) the state dependence is ascribed to the depolarization field in the HVT, which points toward the channel and facilitates the transport and trapping of radiation-generated holes close to the channel. Vibrations transmitted throughout the hand and arm during touch contact play a central role in haptic science and engineering but are challenging to model or experimentally characterize. Here, we present SkinSource, a data-driven toolbox for predicting skin vibrations across the upper limb in response to user-specified input forces. The toolbox leverages impulse response measurements that encode the physics of vibration transmission across the hands and arms of four participants and provides software tools for analyzing the predicted skin responses. We show that the SkinSource predictions closely match experimental measurements and confirm the underlying assumption of linear vibration transmission in the skin. We also demonstrate through several usage examples how SkinSource can act as a versatile computational platform for haptic research applications, such as characterizing vibrotactile transmission in the skin, engineering haptic interfaces, and investigating touch perception.

This paper is concerned with the mechatronic design of a tricopter drone which can move as a ground vehicle and/or as a vessel. The tricopter has three pairs of coaxial rotors and is capable of providing 100N of thrust with a 15 minute flight time using an 8S LiPo 12.5Ah battery. Three waterproof motors are attached to an isosceles triangular omniwheel configuration for operating as a ground vehicle after landing. The customized wheels allow the vehicle to move with a linear velocity up to 2 m/sec at a tilt slope up to 20°. Two submersible parallel water thrusters provide 24N collective force leading to a maximum vessel velocity of 1 m/s and a turn radius of 1.5 m. The design alternatives are highlighted and prioritized according to their weight while the overall amphibious drone is shown in several flight/omniwheel vehicle/vessel modes.

Rice is the most important food crop in Indonesia, one of the plants that is quite significant and as a daily staple food for the people of Indonesia. The Indonesia government through the ministry of Agriculture tries to maintain the rice production by maintaining of the rice field. One the challenging situation that can involve the rice production is pest. Pests became one of the reasons which can reduce rice production. The decrease in rice production due to pest attack is an important problem in rice plant care. In this work, a pest detection system in rice plants developed using an intelligent system technique. The system involved image processing and intelligent technique. The system recognizes the kind of pests of the rice plant based on the feature of the image of the pets. Rice plant pest detection systems based on the pest image proceed by image procession technique and Convolution Neural Network (CNN). The system is working properly, since it resulting the training and testing accuracy of 99% and 90%, respectively.

The decision tree ensembles use a single data feature at each node for splitting the data. However, splitting in this manner may fail to capture the geometric properties of the data. Thus, oblique decision trees generate the oblique hyperplane for splitting the data at each non-leaf node. Oblique decision trees capture the geometric properties of the data and hence, show better generalization. The performance of the oblique decision trees depends on the way oblique hyperplanes are generate and the data used for the generation of those hyperplanes. Recently, multiple classifiers have been used in a heterogeneous random forest (RaF) classifier, however, it fails to generate the trees of proper depth. Moreover, double RaF studies highlighted that larger trees can be generated via bootstrapping the data at each non-leaf node and splitting the original data instead of the bootstrapped data recently. The study of heterogeneous RaF lacks the generation of larger trees while as the double RaF based model fails to take over the geometric characteristics of the data. To address these shortcomings, we propose heterogeneous oblique double RaF. The proposed model employs several linear classifiers at each non-leaf node on the bootstrapped data and splits the original data based on the optimal linear classifier. The optimal hyperplane corresponds to the models based on the optimized impurity criterion. The experimental analysis indicates that the performance of the introduced heterogeneous double random forest is comparatively better than the baseline models. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed heterogeneous double random forest, we used it for the diagnosis of Schizophrenia disease. The next generation of surgical robotics is poised to disrupt healthcare systems worldwide, requiring new frameworks for evaluation. However, evaluation during a surgical robot’s development is challenging due to their complex evolving nature, potential for wider system disruption and integration with complementary technologies like artificial intelligence. Comparative clinical studies require attention to intervention context, learning curves and standardized outcomes. Long-term monitoring needs to transition toward collaborative, transparent and inclusive consortiums for real-world data collection. Here, the Idea, Development, Exploration, Assessment and Long-term monitoring (IDEAL) robotics Colloquium proposes recommendations for evaluation during development, comparative study and clinical monitoring of surgical robots—providing practical recommendations for developers, clinicians, patients and healthcare systems. Multiple perspectives are considered, including economics, surgical training, human factors, ethics, patient perspectives and sustainability. Further work is needed on standardized metrics, health economic assessment models and global applicability of recommendations.
