This paper investigates the surface roughness and temperatures generated during metal machining processes such as lathe and orthogonal turn-mill operations on the most commonly used domestic material AISI 304 stainless steel. Grey relational analysis (GRA) is a tool for multi-response optimization that can be used in conjunction with the Taguchi approach is used for multi-response optimization. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis utilizing regression models is performed to cross-check the consistency of GRA optimality with modifications in machining parameter levels. Use of sensitivity analysis resulted in much-finer machining parameter combinations for superior responses in environmentally friendly (dry and aerosol-mist conditions) machining in both the processes.

In this era, the usage of electrical energy utilization is rapidly increasing due to the number of devices operating with electricity. Thermal power plants power generation has a huge portion in total power generation The increased demand may not match the production, the reliable power supplied to the consumer by load shedding or increased generation only. The cost plays a very important role, so power generation cost optimization is the solution. Economic load dispatch is a nonlinear challenge;it uses to optimize the generation cost by satisfying the various constraints. Plenty of classic and current hybrid optimization techniques had been evolved to deal with this challenge inside the terminal decay of the non-linear system. In economic load dispatch, valve point loading, convex, non-convex, equal and unequal constraints which include real power, reactive power, voltage, angle, and shunt capacitance. This paper aims to detract the energy era fee for forecasting steady load demand using the ant colony-based JAYA algorithm. The proposed algorithm's reliability and accuracy are examined by applying to benchmark the IEEE- 30 bus system. © 2021 IEEE.

Aluminum and its alloy 6082 usage in various aerospace applications is generating significant interest. Both Pulsed and Non pulsed Gas Tungsten Arc welding are being used for fastening of Aluminum. The impact of variation in pulsed frequency as well as different thicknesses of aluminum Al 6082 material on the quality of welded sample was examined. In this present investigation, Al 6082 samples of 3mm & 6mm thickness were welded using pulsed and non-pulsed current welding. Pulsed frequencies 5Hz and 10Hz were used during investigation. Liquid penetrate, radiography and mechanical tests as per ASTM were carried on the welded samples did not find defects in welded joint during liquid penetrate test. Maximum ultimate strength observed in non-pulsed current weldments at lower thickness and pulsed current weldments of higher thickness weldments.

Evaporation characteristics influence on exhaust emissions of waste plastic oil petro diesel blends

The present research is aimed to investigate the influence of evaporation and puffing characteristics on the exhaust gas emissions of waste plastic oil and desired blends with petro diesel. Different volumetric proportions of plastic oil blends such as P20, P40, P60 and P80 are prepared and their thermo-physical properties were measured. The evaporation rates of prepared blends were evaluated in a convective environment and compared with the non-blended plastic oil, traditional petrol diesel. These were supplied to a test engine for evaluation of combustion and emission characteristics. The results are shown that the puffing is formed specifically at 773K to 873K at fluctuation evaporation phase in the prepared blends whereas P20 and P80 possess similar specific fuel consumption with huge variation in CO formation at exhaust emissions. The increase in temperature is reduced the time for the formation of bubble and puffing at higher volume blends but the phenomena of incomplete combustion increased the emissions rate.

In every process, there will still be losses, there is no case where input will be equivalent to the output during a process. Losses will be associated directly or even indirectly with a process. Similarly, during the production process, there is a loss during the process of converting raw materials into finished products. There is allowable loss known as production loss targets or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), set by the business directors to guide the process owners in ensuring production loss is below the set target. There are a lot more other areas where cost is lost during production but for the case of this study, the focus is only on the raw materials lost during the process of production in both SP Brewery and Paradise Foods Ltd, which is currently in place to help minimize or reduce losses in both facilities and what would have been done differently to address the big issue these plants have at the moment which is the high production losses. Production loss, more specifically raw material loss is one of the key areas where cost reduction exercises are engaged to minimize losses in manufacturing plants or factories all around the world. There is a wide range of techniques or methods to follow and address the current problem of raw materials losses used globally by big manufacturing firms and I have chosen one, which is related to the two plants of study (SP Brewery and Paradise Foods), which is the Lean Problem-Solving Method. The discussion further in the article my viewpoint on why suggestions are made Lean technique to be used in both plants to help minimize the current losses regarding raw materials used in the process of production. Likewise, experiences with those two firms, how things can be done differently in terms of raw materials loss during production, and how the problem of raw material losses can be overcome.

The incremental expansion of juvenile delinquency or criminal offence done by children below 18 years age is extensively perceived in India. There are innumerable elements like family & parents, schooling & education levels, monetary problems, internet, easy online videos availability, peer groups, mental issues, drugs, media, etc tender for immoral ideas in the teens. In this research paper, we extend the work of association rule mining of Juvenile delinquency [3] with two major risk elements, family background & education levels of children convoluted in crimes. We discover strong rules connecting family background, education levels and juvenile delinquency with Indian Juvenile crime dataset by association rule mining, a rule- based machine learning mechanism.

The automobile sector mainly depends upon fossil fuels , and the combustion of these fuels contributes approximately 24% of global carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions. Biodiesel has properties similar to diesel and is considered a vital alternative to diesel. The advantages of biodiesel are its higher cetane number , better lubrication property and the presence of approximately 10% oxygen molecule which results in a reduced amount of carbon monoxide , hydrocarbons and smoke emissions compared to diesel operations. However, biodiesel exhibits a lower calorific value and higher viscosity, and resulting in lower brake thermal efficiency and higher brake specific energy consumption compared to diesel. This paper gives an outline of the significance of biodiesel as an alternative to diesel fuel. The article provides an overview of selection of various feedstock for biodiesel production , and their characterization with focus on their vital properties. The impact of biodiesel on engine performance and emissions , including challenges and future prospects, is also covered in this work.

Food packaging and other plastic waste measure by about 31% of global waste in terms of plastic. The major use for plastic packaging is to preserve food and make it last more and prevent it from external damages. Unfortunately, most of the plastic food packaging is used and thrown away and cannot be reused or recycled. From chocolate wrappers to chips wrappers to cloth bags, plastic packaging is used everywhere and cannot be avoided. The accumulation of waste plastic is serious threat to the environment; including pollution of the air and water and harm to wildlife and human being. One of the main reasons for the increase in plastic waste is the widespread use of disposable plastic products, such as single-use bags, bottles, and utensils. Plastic waste have a negative impact on the environment, including pollution of the air and water and harm to wildlife. Pyrolysis is one of the efficient methods to convert plastic waste into useful form of energy and solves these issues. The discussion in the current research include about the pyrolysis technology, important factors which affect the process parameters and utilization of plastic pyrolysis oil as a substitute of diesel . The paper also discusses about the challenges and future scope of pyrolysis of waste plastic.

In this present fast growing environment the automatic coin reorganization and identification machines has a vital role in all financial allied fields. At present most of coin recognition techniques are depends on physical properties of the coin like length, width, weight etc. Whereas image processing techniques are based on extraction of colour of the coin, edge features of the coin and shape of the coin. For recognition and detection of Brazil currency we have designed Machine Learning, Deep Learning (DL) models in this paper. We have designed various a Machine Learning (ML) models with Convolutional Neural Network for identification and reorganization of Brazil currency. Brazil currency consisting of 5 Centavos, 10 Centavos, 25 Centavos etc. Each of which has different shapes and designs. Different deep learning models are designed and applied ensemble to find the better accuracy. The trained ensemble model is tested on various the datasets which consists of shifting of images, rotation and translated images.

Cardiac Arrhythmia is caused by irregular heart rhythms, it is either increased or decreased leading to irregular rhythms. The heart arrhythmia is assessed using electrocardiogram (ECG). ECG can clearly detect various types of arrhythmia and correspond to diagnosis of heart disease. There is extensive research involved in removing manual intervention in assessing the type of arrhythmia from the ECG. Arrhythmia can be classified by extracting attributes in the form of RR interval from ECG. This work proposes an approach to classify cardiac arrhythmia. A range of classifiers are proposed such as Chi-square Automatic Interaction Detector (CHAID), Random Forest (RF), and fuzzy classifier. Initially, the attributes are retrieved from the time series present in ECG data employing Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and then the distance among RR waves are processed. The dataset used for experimental purpose were obtained from Massachusetts institute of technology-Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital (MIT-BIH) arrhythmia to evaluate the performance of the method. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.
