Estimation of tribological performance of a hybrid Al-Si/Al2O3/ MoS2 composite via Taguchi orthogonal array

This work illustrated the tribological performance of molybdenum disulphide (MoS2 /alumina (Al2O3) particles are rei nforced in Al-Si matrix, and prepared Al-Si/2MoS2, Al-Si/ 12 Al2O3/ 2MoS2 composites via stir casting. Mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength, density, and tribological efficiency of composites were identified. Mechanical properties of composites are observed to increase with weight percentage MoS2 and Al2O3 increase. The Al-Si/ 12Al2O3 composite exhibited better hardness and tensile strength. The tribological experiments are formulated using the Taguchi approach (L27). Tribological responses such as wear rate and friction coefficient are controlled primarily by three factors such as sliding velocity, sliding distance, and contact pressure. For Al-Si/2MoS2and Al-Si/ 12 Al2O3/ 2MoS2 composites, pressure is the most influential parameter on wear rate. Sliding velocity is also a factor affecting the friction coefficient for Al-Si/2MoS2, revealed by Analysis of variance (ANOVA). The surface morphology of worn-out samples is examined using SEM and results are corroborated with findings.

The overall rating leaves the people in chaos and they cannot conclude that on which basis the ratings have been awarded. To overcome this problem feature based online rating is introduced. Where ratings for different features have been awarded separately. It helps people to take decisions easily and can purchase a product of their requirement. It helps in the growth of the business as customer satisfaction is equally important and it increases the quality of service.

This paper presents a novel Sliding Mode Control (SMC) approach for a three phase AC/DC/AC Voltage source UPS used in Industrial applications. The proposed controller is robust for sudden change in loads and more efficient. Most of the industries run with critical loads, so there is always a need to supply better quality of inverter output voltage waveform. A mathematical model of the system is derived using state space modeling. Using the model, a design procedure of controller implementation using the state variables necessary to obtain a stable system is developed. It can be operated for both linear and non-linear load conditions very effectively. It reduces steady state error and is easy to implement. Load voltage regulation is also found to be within the standards. The dynamic nature of the controller is verified. A phase trajectory is plotted to show the nature of the SMC characteristic in reaching the origin. Frequency response characteristics are plotted to realize the state variables to obtain stability. The simulation work is performed in PSCAD/EMTDC version 4.6. and the system stability condition is analyzed from frequency response plots obtained in MATLAB R2012b platform. The proposed controller can be effectively used in all high power industrial applications. © 2018 IEEE.

This paper is about designing a robot which is economical and can help military by transmitting video in closed quarter combats. small unarmed ground vehicle (SUGV) is a robot consisting of a toy car acting as a platform and arduino uno controller,batteries,Bluetooth module and a smartphone are mounted on *** DC motors of the wheels are connected to the arduino controller and via the Bluetooth HC-05 module the commands from the accelerometer of the smartphone are sent to the microcontroller depending on which the motion and direction of the wheel can be controlled. The robot can move in forward,reverse,left and right directions and this movement is controlled by the droid to arduino app installed in the *** smartphone mounted on the platform uses skype video conferencing application to send the live video of its surveillance to the skype application installed in the laptop using internet. By using the video soldiers can take suitable *** SUGV helps in minimizing risk to a soldier's life. © 2017 IEEE.

In this work, a dual port T-type Asymmetrical multilevel inverter (DP-AMI) is used with two sources namely the PV and the battery is considered. It is assumed that the low voltage level is obtained from battery and high voltage level is obtained from a PV based Boost converter output. Two switches with an antiparallel diode are used to modulate the low voltage level and a conventional VSI is used to obtain a high voltage level in the power circuit. A vertical shifted SPWM is used specifically for this power circuit for obtaining the switching mechanism of the DP-AMI circuit. The analytical study DP-AMI is interfaced between the low level input voltage sources solar and/or battery with the AC load or AC grid. The stepped input solar voltage together with the battery voltage will be converted to an ac source with the help of LC- filter. Using the control mechanism, it is found that the circuit offers improved conversion efficiency compared to the classic H-bridge inverter. It also helps in reducing size of the output filter which is cost effective and also results in less harmonic distortion. The simulation and observation is done for 5 kW load with different power factor's and also with different modulation indexes.

The hybrid electric vehicle which is driven by a motor (PMSM) powered with electric power generated by multiple power sources is stated. By considering the emission of greenhouse gases from the present day vehicles, the idea of hybrid vehicles have a raised, by this paper we are making excessive efforts to reduce carbon emission while transport. Present day scenario the world is looking for solar energy based electric vehicles. But solar (Photovoltaic (PV) cells) itself cannot provide sufficient power to the vehicles for applications of long drive. So, that standby and alternate power sources are mandatory and those should be green able/renewable sources for making system/vehicle as green able technology. For consideration of economic issues and long drive applications, incorporate battery (which is chargeable by AC source), hydrogen fuel cell to the system. So that the system makes hybrid and more reliable. Here Proposed a new controller based PMSM drive to drive the vehicle. In spite of this, DTC allows decent torque control in both steady and transient state. The Major issue with this Classical DTC is having high torque & flux ripples. In this project two-fuzzy controller along with the Space Vector Modulation (SVM) technique is applied to 5 level low cost multilevel inverter to overcome this issue. For this application we have designed special structure of multilevel inverter and develop new SVM technique. Several variations of DTC-SVM with low cost multilevel inverter have been proposed and discussed in this paper. By using MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation software to simulate our results. © 2017 IEEE.

In present scenario, electricity is important for day to day activities, but unfortunately electricity is not available in many areas due to difficulties of power grid systems. The best choice for those rural areas is to place local stand-alone power system to provide the required power to people for their better livelihood. Mostly Diesel Generators are using for power generations, but it is not economical and eco-friendly due to increasing price of diesel day by day and it release carbon products along with noise while power generation. The alternative is placing a renewable energy based stand-alone power system. The wind based power generation is most popular among the renewable energy power systems and Photovoltaic based power systems also gradually rising in society. The integration of two or more renewable systems will give more reliable in stand-alone power systems. In this paper, proposed hybrid wind and solar based stand-alone power generation system for rural application. Maximum power point tracker (MPPT) converters also included to achieve the maximum available power from renewable sources. For more reliable, a battery is also incorporated to system with proper voltage based controller. Moreover, Most of the distribution loads are unbalanced in three phase power system, hence, balanced voltages should be maintained for good power quality at load bus. In order to maintain the good power quality, controller is designed for inverter to maintain the single phase voltages at its reference values. Extensive controllers are design and tested in MATLAB Simulink in both the balanced and unbalanced load conditions. The performance of controllers is quite satisfactory under various possible conditions. © 2017 IEEE.

The charging of a mobile phone is the most important function to operate mobile. by charging the battery. Unfortunately, it will take long time for the process of full charging of a mobile phone battery and considering present generation mobile phones it is very much time taking process in to charge its battery because they are having a lot of functions need to be operated. so that The battery will be discharging quickly when mobile is working with multi functions. This process leads to be switched off the mobile. This problem is reduced with backup power banks. However, many disadvantages are present in these types of models. We can include more functions in mobile if we can able to provide power backup for long time by providing more space in the mobiles This is possible by two ways but both the ways are in opposite nature. Those are, long time power can be supply to mobile by increasing the size of battery, however this will not be a proper approach because to include more functions in mobiles the majority space in mobile will be occupied by battery. This problem can be rectified by providing alternative power to the battery continuously, hence small size battery will be sufficient to operate mobile with more features. This alternative power can be supplied by Photovoltaic (PV) cells and the possibility is to insert the PV cells on the battery. In this paper, the PV cells are used to charge the mobile battery and simulation results are presented with experimental results in various possible conditions. The proposed setup can be designed as an integrated chip, so the size of the charger will be reduced and the battery can be charged continuously from the solar power. It has been established that the performance of the proposed method is quite satisfactory during both in transient as well as in steady state is quite satisfactory under both MATLAB and experimental analysis. © 2016 IEEE.
