A Fuzzy logic controller based Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) for Hybrid Renewable sources for Grid-interconnection has been proposed. SAPF is shunted at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) with the existing power system to have compensation among power quality issues. The proposed converter topology also feeding the Maximum Power from the PV-Arrays and Wind Energy System into the Grid. The advancement of the 4-leg VSI with the proposed controller is found to be more prominent & sufficiently mitigate power quality issues under all Non-Sinusoidal situations. SAPF current reference signals are obtained by Synchronous Reference Frame (SRF) scheme. Matlab Simulink results showed that the proposed scheme can effectively compensate the harmonic currents and improve Power Quality.

The charging of a mobile with direct DC supply at low cost is becoming an innovative technology. A new approach to recharge the mobile battery by direct DC supply without the conversion of AC to DC is reported. The approach applies a three terminal voltage regulator 78M05 IC to give a constant voltage 5V and current ≈500mA from a 9V rechargeable battery connected parallel to the voltage regulator. It is observed that the voltage difference of the rechargeable battery drops when the mobile phone battery is charged and a voltage regulator is added in addition to regulate constant voltage finally. The analysis was also done by the AC power supply via the mobile charger. The charger is helpful for the charging of the mobile phone battery when there is no AC power supply. The entire setup can be reduced as an integrated chip along with the mobile phone charger, so the size of the charger remains same. Based on extensive simulation results using Matlab/Simulink and experimental results, it has been established that the performance of the controller both in transient as well as in steady state is quite satisfactory.

The main aim of this paper is to design hardware efficient secure communication system. To design a secure communication system of low hardware complexity, one method is to avoid redundancy in cryptography primitives. The method used for encryption can be either a stream cipher or block cipher. But the hardware complexity of a stream cipher is much less than that of a block ciphers. Hence in a secure communication system of low hardware complexity, stream cipher is a suitable method in order to reduce redundant hardware for the implementation of some other cryptographic service in time sharing way in the system. The key exchange and encryption are two sequential operations and a popular standard used for key exchange is Elliptic Curve (EC) based method. Most critical step in the design of stream cipher is the design of a Cryptographically Strong Pseudorandom Bit Sequence Generator (CSPBSG). This PBSG is implemented based on Elliptic Curve (EC). The main complex hardware block in Elliptic Curve Pseudorandom Bit Sequence Generator (ECPBSG) is EC point multiplication block. The computational complexity of the EC point multiplication is reduced by using normal basis representation for elements of GF (2 m ). The GF multiplier structure used in implementation of EC point multiplication is chosen such that the overall hardware complexity is low. It is possible to design secure stream ciphers based on EC point multiplication. Hence this paper completely concentrates on hardware efficiency, in the implementation of secure communication system.

Multiplication is indeed the most crucial operation in digital signal processing (DSP). Its implementation requires large hardware resources and significantly affects the size, performance, and power consumption of a DSP system. Several DSP algorithms require different types of multiplications, specifically integer or Galois field (GF) multiplication. Since both functions share similarities in their structures, it is better to combine both circuits in a single circuit. In this paper, various reconfigurable multipliers for integer and Galois field multiplication will be analyzed and discussed in detail. A comparative study of these architectures with the proposed architectures based on high speed Shannon adder is made. Such study shows area savings of up to 10% at a marginal reduction in delay and power around 3% compare to the conventional adder based reconfigurable structures. From this perspective, function-specific reconfigurable circuits based on high speed Shannon adder can be considered feasible alternatives to standard ASIC solutions.
