Coping with the technical demand of radar stealth, a dual-polarized time-share on-off FSS is simulated in this article. Through the adaption of three layers of CLC compound structures and time-sharing control under the operation of switching diodes with dual and independent control, the proposed structure realized the autonomous regulation between transmission and rejection under TE and TM polarization. The optimum and performance of proposed structures are simulated by the full-wave EM simulation software. Simulation results indicate that this structure realized autonomous regulation between four states, i.e., dual-polarized transmission, single-polarized transmission Isingle-polarized rejection, and dual-polarized rejection. The insertion loss of passband less than IdB ranges from 8.5 to 11.5 GHz, and the stopband of transmission coefficient less than 10dB ranges from 7 to 10 GHz. Moreover, results support the fact that proposed structures realized the autonomous regulation between effective transmission and efficient rejection in desired polarizations. Results denote that the proposed dual-polarized time-share on-off FSS in this article is feasible. © 2024 IEEE.

Frequency selective surface (FSS) is widely used in radar stealth radomes because of its excellent integrated function of wave transmission and stealth. In this paper, the characteristics of high-frequency broadband transmission and low-frequency broadband absorption are realized through the cascade structure design of lossy layer frequency selective surface and lossless layer bandpass frequency selective surface loaded with lumped resistance devices. The lossy layer frequency selection surface is a six-sided ring branch loaded lumped resistor device structure, and the lossless layer bandpass frequency selection surface is a six-sided slot structure. Full-wave simulation shows that the reflection coefficient of the structure is less than - 10dB in the frequency range of 3.9GHz-15.5GHz, and it can cover C-band, X-band and some Ku-band. The insertion loss of the structure is less than 1 dB, and the frequency band range is 24.77GHz-30.9GHz. At the same time, the structure has good polarization stability. The structure can be widely used in satellite communication radar radomes equipped with carrier platforms. © 2023 IEEE.

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an important remote sensing technique and SAR imaging is one of the core steps in SAR data processing. In order to improve the SAR imaging efficiency, a novel backprojection (BP) algorithm based on aperture compression is proposed. The aperture is first compressed based on a well-designed filter in azimuth dimension. Then, the coherent integration operation is employed to accumulate the signal along new aperture. Finally, both simulation and spaceborne SAR data experiments are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed BP algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

Cyanate ester composites have the advantages of high-temperature resistance, low moisture absorption, excellent dielectric properties, and excellent mechanical properties. It is the most promising composite of the new generation radome. The key step in forming cyanate ester composites is thermal curing. There is no relevant experimental data on the influence of porosity on the mechanical properties of cyanate ester composites. This paper studied the influence law of different porosity on the properties of cyanate ester composites. Meanwhile, the performance data of cyanate ester composites were accumulated to provide a reference for the engineering treatment of faulty parts. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The reconfigurable frequency selective rasorber has the ability to switch its transmission band into absorption band and thus, has the potential to mitigate the contradiction between radar detection and radar stealth. However, the increasing complication of the feeding circuit of the active elements make it difficult to improve a frequency selective rasorber from narrowband to wideband transmission, as well as from single to dual polarization. In this paper, we proposed a dual-polarized metasurface with switchable transmission/absorption covering the X band. The unit cell design and feeding strategy of the proposed metasurface are discussed in detail. Simulation shows an 8–12 GHz transmission and absorption switch ability with good angular stability and polarization insensitivity is achieved, which is the key function to realize the dual-polarized frequency selective rasorber with wideband transmission. © 2024, Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

In order to meet the technical requirements of radar stealth, a dual-passband active tunable frequency selective structure (TDB FSS) is simulated. The antenna adopts a three-layer CLC composite structure and loads varactor diode branches to achieve two stable passbands, and the two resonance bands are effectively regulated by adjusting the PIN capacitance value. The full-wave electromagnetic simulation software was used to optimize the design and performance simulation of the structure. The simulation results show that the structure achieves two stable passbands near the 4.4 GHz and 12.6 GHz frequency points, and when the varactor diode capacitance changes from 0.1 pF to 1 PF, two adjustable passbands of 1.6 GHz to 4.4 GHz and 10.7 GHz to 12.6 GHz are formed, which realizes the independent regulation of the two passbands. The results show that the design scheme of dual-passband active tunable frequency selective structure proposed in this paper is feasible. © 2024 IEEE.

In this letter, a cancelling-type structure (CTS) for decoupling compact (center-to-center spacing of 0.3 λ0) microstrip antenna is proposed. The CTS consists of an array-antenna decoupling array(ADS) which is above the antenna and a decoupling probe(DP) which is connected to the ground plane. The decoupling mechanism is that by adjusting the size and position of CTS, the reflected wave generated by CTS can cancel the coupling wave. To verify the idea, the antennas with and without CTS are proposed and simulated. The simulated results show that the maximum mutual coupling reduction is 30 dB for S12 at the center frequency. In the 1.2-1.3 frequency band, the S12 is reduced to less than -20dB. Meanwhile, the impedance bandwidth remains almost unchanged. The CTS can also obviously correct the pattern distortion caused by coupling, making the pattern curve of the upper half space of the antenna smoother. © 2023 SPIE.

In this paper, a dual-passband filter with wide upper out-of-band suppression is designed by combining the double-sided parallel symmetric spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPP) transmission line with a dual-band filtering structure. The dispersion and transmission characteristics of this structure are analyzed. Through the control of key parameters, the edge positions of the passbands can be independently adjusted. The results show that the lower passband ranges from 2.2 to 3.5 GHz with a relative bandwidth of 45.6%, and the upper passband ranges from 6.5 to 7.4 GHz with a relative bandwidth of 13%. The transmission coefficient is less than -40 dB in the frequency range of 9.7 - 30.2 GHz outside the upper passband. It has important reference value for the development of miniaturized, multifunctional and highly integrated radio frequency devices in modern communication systems. © 2024 IEEE.

A dual-passband single-polarized converter based on the band-stop frequency selective surface(FSS)with a low radar cross-section(RCS)is designed in this *** unit cell of the proposed converter is formed by a polarization layer attached to the band-stop frequency selective *** simulation results reveal that the co-polarization reflection coefficients below-10 d B are achieved in 3.82–13.64 GHz with a 112.4%fractional bandwidth(the ratio of the signal bandwidth to the central frequency).Meanwhile,a polarization conversion band is realized from 8.14 GHz to 9.27 GHz with a polarization conversion ratio which is over 80%.Moreover,the 1 d B transmission window is obtained in two nonadjacent bands of 3.42–7.02 GHz and 10.04–13.91 GHz corresponding to the relative bandwidths of 68.9%and 32.3%,***,the radar cross-section of the designed structure can be reduced in the wideband from 2.28 GHz to 14 GHz,and the 10 d B RCS reduction in the range of 4.10–13.35 GHz is *** addition,the equivalent circuit model of this converter is established,and the simulation results of the Advanced Design System(ADS)match well with those of CST Microwave Studio(CST).The archetype of the designed converter is manufactured and *** experiment results match the simulation results well,which proves the reliability of the simulation results.

Ceramic matrix composites have good mechanical properties and high temperature resistance, but it is difficult to process. In order to solve the problems of fast tool wear and low machining efficiency in the dry grinding process, ultrasonic vibration assisted grinding technology of quartz fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites is adopted in this paper. Grinding force, machining efficiency, tool wear and surface roughness are analyzed through the comparison experiment between the conventional grinding and the ultrasonic vibration assisted grinding. The influence of the ultrasonic vibration assistance and process parameters on machining quality and tool life is further obtained. According to the findings, when compared to traditional grinding, ultrasonic vibration grinding can lower the grinding force by 25% to 58% and the surface roughness by up to 16%. The tool life and machining efficiency can be significantly increased with the help of ultrasonic vibration. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
