Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR), as a device of voltage sag compensation, demands fast transient response, and the disturbance of source voltage is a main impact on control performance. The DVR control strategy based on discrete state space will enhance control bandwidth and stability. However, for the discrete space control system, the number of parameters is relatively more which will lead to a complicated design process. To solve this problem, this paper proposed a control parameter design method based on the idea of virtual resistor. Firstly, by means of state feedback control, an adjustable virtual resistor can be series in filter inductor. According to the requirements of steady-state error, phase margin and Routh's criterion in w domain, the variation regions of PI parameters and virtual resistance can be solved by a step-by-step method, and then the appropriate control parameters can be selected. Experimental results from a digital signal processor-based system are included to support theoretical analysis.

Degradation of sulfamethazine using Fe3O4-Mn3O4/reduced graphene oxide hybrid as Fenton-like catalyst

In this paper, FeO-MnO/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) hybrid was synthesized through polyol process and impregnation method and used as heterogeneous Fenton-like catalyst for degradation of sulfamethazine (SMT) in aqueous solution. The hybrid catalyst had higher catalytic efficiency compared with FeO-MnO and MnO as catalyst for degradation of SMT The effects of pH value, HO concentration, catalyst dosage, initial SMT concentration and temperature on SMT degradation were investigated. The removal efficiency of SMT was about 98% at following optimal conditions: pH=3, T=35°C, FeO/MnO-RGO composites=0.5g/L, HO=6mM. The inhibitor experiments indicated that the main active species was hydroxyl radicals (·OH) on catalyst surface. At last, the possible catalytic mechanism was proposed.

Matryoshka-caged gold nanorods （mCGNRs） were successfully synthesized by alternating between a seed-mediated silver-coating method and galvanic replacement reactions （GRRs）. As the number of matryoshka layers of the mCGNRs increased, the plasmon resonance peak broadened and was red-shifted, and the catalytic activity towards the reduction of 4-nitrophenol （4-NTP） increased. When mCGNRs with 6 layers were used as nanocatalysts in the reduction of 4-nitrophenol, the reaction rate coefficient was 5.2- and 3.7-times higher than that of the gold-nanorod- and caged-gold-nanorod-catalyzed reductions of 4-nitrophenol, respectively. In addition, the surface-plasmon-resonance-based absorption of light enhanced the catalytic performance of the mCGNRs. With the support of a polyurethane foam, the mCGNRs synthesized in this study can be applied as recydable heterogeneous catalysts for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol.

A detailed experimental investigation is conducted to suppress three-dimensional (3D) corner separation by a proposed passive control method using blade end slots in a highly loaded high-speed compressor cascade. Experiments are carried out under a wide range of incidence angles at Ma=0.59 using blades with and without blade end slots, respectively. Based on the experimental results, extensive comparisons show that the proposed method using blade end slots can efficiently suppress the 3D corner separation and broaden the effective operating range in the highly loaded high-speed compressor cascade. The total pressure loss is significantly reduced under most conditions. The reduction of total pressure loss in the measurement plane is as high as 18.4%, 20.6%, 24.3% and 39.4% at the incidence angle of -1.69, 0, 2 and 4, respectively. Furthermore, spanwise distributions of the pitch-averaged total pressure loss and deviation angle as well as the 3D flow field structures are analyzed to reveal the flow control mechanisms using blade end slots. The blade end slots can generate self-adaptive high momentum jet flow through the pressure difference from blade pressure and suction surface. These jet flows from the blade end slots effect downstream along the blade suction surface and significantly increase the flow momentum in the corner region. The main secondary vortex structures are suppressed by the high momentum jet flow;the 3D corner separation is reduced, and the two-dimesionality in the mid-span region is enhanced. © ISROMAC 2017. With the rapid development of 3D Digital City, the focus of research has shifted from 3D city modeling and geo-database construction to 3D geo-database service and maintenance. The frequent modifications on geometry, texture, attribute, and topology present a great challenge to the 3D geo-database *** article proposes an event-driven spatiotemporal database model (ESDM) that combines the historical and present 3D city models with the semantic classification and state expression, triggered by changing events predefined. In addition, a corresponding dynamic updating method based on adaptive matching algorithm is presented to perform the dynamic updating operation for the complex 3D city models automatically, according to the compound matching of semantics, attributes, and spatial locations. finally, the validity and feasibility of the proposed ESDM and its updating method are demonstrated through a 3D geo-database with more than 1.5 million 3D city models.

Effects of aging temperature on microstructure and room temperature mechanical properties of solid solution treated Ti2AlNb based alloy have been investigated. The experimental results showed that after solution treatment and subsequently aging at different temperatures, all the alloys had β/B2, α2 and O three phases, which formed a typical bimodal microstructure with primary α2/O particles and acicular O precipitates dispersing within β/B2 matrix. With increasing the aging temperature, the acicular O precipitates decreased in amount but slightly increased in dimension;the particle α2/O phase did not change in amount but varied in structure, which changed into a core-shell morphology with an α2 core and a rim-O shell, and the rim-O shell was thickened;the change of microstructure led to the decrease in room temperature strength while slight improvement in plasticity. During the tension test, the cracks prefered to propagate along the prior β/B2 grain boundaries which were weaken by the necklace primary α2/O particles. © 2016 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Enhanced biodegradation of triclosan by means of gamma irradiation

Triclosan is an antimicrobial agent which has been frequently detected in the environment. In this paper, the biodegradation of triclosan after radiation-induced advanced oxidation was investigated. The results show that the removal efficiency of triclosan in the combined irradiation and biological treatment process ranged from 88% to 97%, depending on the absorbed dose, while it was only 54% in the single biological treatment process. The removal efficiency of total organic carbon (TOC) was in the range of 53.1%,-59.2% at dose of 1-5 kGy in the combined irradiation and biological treatment process. In comparison, the removal efficiency of TOC in the single biological treatment process was 24.5%, suggesting that irradiation can enhance the mineralization of triclosan. The dechlorination efficiency of triclosan ranged from 48.6% to 78.4% at dose of 1-5 kGy. The intermediates of triclosan degradation were tentatively identified by LC-MS analysis and the possible degradation pathway was proposed. Based on the above results, the combined irradiation and biological treatment process could be an alternative process for treating triclosan-containing wastewater.

Comparative study on sulfamethoxazole degradation by Fenton and Fe(ii)-activated persulfate process

Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) are emerging contaminants, which are ubiquitous and pose the potential risk to ecosystem and human health. It is necessary to remove PPCPs from water and wastewater. In this study, sulfamethoxazole, a widely used antibiotic, was chosen as targeted pollutant. Fenton process and persulfate process were employed to remove sulfamethoxazole from aqueous solution. The results showed that Fenton process required less amount of Fe(II) and oxidant than persulfate process to achieve 100% removal of sulfamethoxazole in the water sample prepared with de-ionized water. The maximal mineralization reached 83% when hydrogen peroxide concentration was 1 mM and Fe(II) was 0.05 mM for Fenton process. The maximal mineralization for persulfate process was 60% with 4 mM of persulfate and 4 mM of Fe(II). The increase of Fe(II) concentration could increase the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and persulfate, but did not increase the mineralization of sulfamethoxazole, indicating that the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and persulfate was not positive correlation with the removal and mineralization of sulfamethoxazole. Five intermediate compounds were detected in Fenton process while eight intermediate compounds in persulfate process, suggesting that different degradation pathway occurred in the two processes. The wastewater components had negative effect on the degradation of sulfamethoxazole for both Fenton and persulfate processes. The removal efficiency of sulfamethoxazole was 52.5% and 52.3%, respectively, for Fenton and persulfate processes. Persulfate process could be an alternative for treating the real wastewater containing PPCPs.

The quark model was formulated in 1964 to classify mesons as bound states made of a quark-antiquark pair, and baryons as bound states made of three quarks. For a long time all known mesons and baryons could be classified within this scheme. Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), however, in principle also allows the existence of more complex structures, generically called exotic hadrons or simply exotics. These include four-quark hadrons (tetraquarks and hadronic molecules), five-quark hadrons (pentaquarks) and states with active gluonic degrees of freedom (hybrids), and even states of pure glue (glueballs). Exotic hadrons have been systematically searched for in numerous experiments for many years. Remarkably, in the past fifteen years, many new hadrons that do not exhibit the expected properties of ordinary (not exotic) hadrons have been discovered in the quarkonium spectrum. These hadrons are collectively known as XYZ states. Some of them, like the charged states, are undoubtedly exotic. Parallel to the experimental progress, the last decades have also witnessed an enormous theoretical effort to reach a theoretical understanding of the XYZ states. Theoretical approaches include not only phenomenological extensions of the quark model to exotics, but also modern non-relativistic effective field theories and lattice QCD calculations. The present work aims at reviewing the rapid progress in the field of exotic XYZ hadrons over the past few years both in experiments and theory.
