The purpose of the investigation is to theoretically and experimentally explore the method and key techniques of using extrusion-die to manufacture armature part, which is a kind of a-symmetry iron 'ZV' shape work piece that is often used in relay assembly. The key problem is to design the cavity. On the base of modeling the billet and die parts, the FEM software DEFORM-3D is used to simulate the forming process and analyze the potential defects, and gain the best parameters to optimize cavity shape. Based on these results, experiment has been done, and it demonstrated that numerical simulation is effective and the die design is rational.

The effect of heat treatment on the magnetostrictive properties of a (110)-oriented polycrystal Fe83Ga17 alloy was investigated. It was found that the saturation magnetostrictive strain of the quenched Fe83Ga17 alloy exceeded 300 × 10 under a compressive stress of 25 MPa. The results of Neutron diffraction and differential thermal analysis confirmed that slow cooling leads to the change of phase structure which results in the change of magnetostrictive strain. The increase in magnetostrictive strain of the Fe83Ga17 alloy treated by quenching is explained as that the long-range DO3 is suppressed.

"Self-synchronization" is a key concept that constitutes the theory of Network Centric Warfare/Operation (NCW/NCO). But only a brief discussion is available in the classic literature on NCW. Further analysis and extended discussion is made in this paper. Approaches to realize self-synchronization network (SSN) in modeling/simulation domain are introduced, including agent-based framework, domain-specified knowledge modeling and decision-support algorithm. A case was constructed to confirm the idea and evaluate the effectiveness of "self-synchronization". simulation results reveal that self-synchronization has an advantage over other operational modes. At the end of paper, conclusions are drawn and expectation of future works is proposed.

The speed of spatial data transmission on the web is too slow to accept in the field of Web 3D visualization. Aiming at this condition, the paper proposes several methods to resolve it. For the network structure, the paper designs a rational architecture between the server and client to achieve the effective load balancing. For the terrain modeling, the authors adopt the Levels of Detail (LOD) technique using the improved binary triangle tree structure. It is similar to ROAM, but easy to be implemented. For the building modeling, the paper discusses the building texture division and compression technique. Finally, experiment results are demonstrated to prove the proposed research methods are really practicable.

This paper introduces the current technology of spatial auditory cues and auditory localization of Virtual Environment (VE). Vector Based Amplitude Panning (VBAP) method is introduced in this paper and some problems on auditory display are studied via loudspeaker arrays based on this method. The real-time interactive spatial sound system for virtual battlefield environment based on HLA and DIS is proposed and implemented in advancedsimulationtechnologylaboratory. In this paper, the display and management method of multi sound sources is analyzed. The synchronization and coherence of two-dimensional information including visual channel and auditory channel are also discussed. There are masses of entities in distributed interactive simulation to generate virtual sounds. A conception called Auditory Display Surrounding Sphere is defined, which center is the Virtual Observer/listener and then an optimization search algorithm is presented to manage the entities as sound sources in the area of interesting. This algorithm is used in the real system and the effect is quite good.

The run-time infrastructure (RTI) is a software infrastructure implements the interface specification for High-Level Architecture (HLA), which provides efficient data exchange to logical groups of federates. At the same time, it supports a variety of time management policies and coordinates the exchange of events between federates. Thus, RTI should be designed delicately to meet simulations of several different types of system, and to keep high performance of HLA-based application systems. This paper explores the possibility to improve the performance of RTI and reduce the system cost, and discuss the layered hierarchical software, as well as the way to optimize the data structure and the network.

The paper investigates the time management(TM) in distributed simulation system. The paper puts forward the purpose of TM and the problems that will be solved. The TM implementation mechanism in HLA/RTI is discussed. The design and implementations for the mechanism of messages transportation are given. The paper discusses deeply the TM algorithm, including the Conservative synchronization, Optimistic synchronization in parallel discrete event simulation and TM in HLA. Then the keytechnology of software implementation is studied. These technologies include the whole structure of AST_RTI, the implementation of multithread, the optimized LBTS algorithm, the effective data structure design and memory management. These algorithms and software implementation are given. This study and implementation was used in TM in self-developed AST_RTI. The application showed the design and algorithm had improved the RTI running performance effectively.
