The life-saving platform can provide remote life-saving materials and refuge facilities for victims who encounter sudden natural disasters and accidents within the delivery radius, and has the ability to improve the survival chances of victims. The rescue platform in this article is equipped with a modular floating airbag to provide the rescue platform with long-term floating capacity. In order to evaluate whether the connection belt and airbag pressure of the modular floating airbag and the selection of airbag material and connection belt material meet the requirements when the life-saving platform enters the water with different posture, three water entry posture were simulated and calculated. The simulation results show that the pressure of the connecting belt and the airbag of the water entry posture 2 is the most tested, and the design of the connecting belt and the airbag has a large safety space. © Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics 2025.

Fatigue significantly impacts modern flight safety, leading to decreased pilot performance, judgment errors, flight illusions, and potentially severe accidents. Rocket ejection seat for emergency escape with additional 35° mounting angle design. To verify the fatigue improvement effect of this design for long-duration flights, a simulated long-duration flight test was conducted. The trial uses wearable wireless physiological monitoring equipment to collect ECG from trainees. Short-term heart rate variability (HRV) indicators reflecting fatigue state were selected from the time-domain, frequency-domain, and nonlinear characteristics of valid samples. Paired sample test results showed significant changes in short-term HRV indicators before and after resting with the rocket ejection seat installed at a 35° angle, indicating reduced sympathetic activity and increased parasympathetic activity, thus alleviating fatigue. © 2025 The Authors.

This paper proposes a calculation method based on the rocket sled test method to quickly verify the performance of the main drag chute of aircraft. According to the working principle and folding process of the drag chute, combined with the pre-processing folding and calculation folding methods, the simulation folding process of the finite element model of the drag chute is designed, the finite element model of the rocket sled system was established. Then, the S-ALE fluid structure coupling algorithm was used to simulate and calculate the performance parameters of the rocket sled drag parachute system during the parachute deployment process, forming a simulation verification process for the parachute deployment performance of the drag chute. The calculation results show that the force on the rope of the drag chute during the operation process of the rocket sled drag parachute system shows a consistent trend over time, and the error generated by calculating the opening performance parameters of the rocket sled drag parachute system using the method proposed in this article are within 12%, which can meet the requirements of engineering use. The calculation method proposed in this article can to some extent replace the rocket sled test to verify the performance of the parachute. The calculation method proposed can quickly predict the performance of the drag chute instead of physical tests at the initial stage of development. © Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics 2025.

During normal flight, the ejection seat ventilation system provides a dedicated gas transmission channel for electronic oxygen and anti load regulators. The flow resistance of the pipeline directly affects the ventilation and supply performance of the regulator and the anti load protection ability during mobile operations. This article adopts a combination of numerical simulation and experimental testing methods to quantitatively analyze the flow resistance of a certain type of ejection seat ventilation pipeline. Based on the principle of gas supply performance testing and numerical simulation methods, a research process is designed. The simulation accuracy of different simulation models under different ventilation flow rates is analyzed, and the ventilation pipeline is optimized based on the calculation formula of pipeline flow resistance theory and the analysis results of pipeline flow field. The research results indicate that among multiple turbulence models, the Realizable k-e model has the best accuracy in simulating pipeline flow resistance, with a maximum error of 14.2% and a minimum error of 1.3% under different flow conditions, both below 15%, meeting the requirements for engineering use;the vortices generated at the corners and variable diameter areas of the ventilation pipeline can lead to energy dissipation. Optimizing the transition corners and pipeline diameter of the bend can reduce the generation of vortices and reduce the system flow resistance to 17.9% of the original value;under the premise of constant pipeline flow rate, the flow resistance of ventilation pipelines is inversely proportional to the fifth power of pipeline diameter. When optimizing pipeline flow resistance design, emphasis should be placed on optimizing from the pipeline diameter. © Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics 2025.

Dear Editor,The German cockroach,Blattella germanica(Insecta,Blattodea),is one of the most synanthropic cosmopolitan pests affecting public health,which is often described as“little mighty”because of its extreme vitality and *** characterization in cockroaches is primarily due to two crucial biological traits,strong regenerative capacity and excellent fecundity(Ren et al.,2023),but nothing is known about the underlying relationship between these two traits in terms of physiology and *** have evolved diverse appendages(***,labial palp,maxillary palp,leg,wing,and cercus)that are used for locomotion,feeding,communication,and other vital functions(Chen et al.,2022;Li et al.,2024).As a crucial adaptive strategy,appendage regeneration enables animals to restore injured body parts and their associated functions(Tanaka,2016),significantly enhancing survival ability and ecological adaptation(Zhong et al.,2023).Moreover,cockroaches exhibit extremely prominent capacity of leg regeneration in the insect kingdom(Li et al.,2018;Ren et al.,2024;Zhang et al.,2024).

With the continuous development of additive manufacturing technology, designing materials and structures with diverse functions and complex configurations to meet special needs has become a hot topic. However, the various manufacturing limits result in deviations between the design results and the actual results. This paper proposes an interval-based scale-span topology optimization method considering reliable manufacturing limits via the parameterized level set method and image recognition techniques. Firstly, this paper describes the boundaries of topology configurations based on the parameterized level set method. Then, based on the image recognition technology, explicit expression of structural boundaries is achieved, and various geometric features are further quantified and controlled based on the recognition results. Considering the uncertainty effects of structural size and size constraints, a reliability-based topology optimization design has been achieved. Design optimization has been carried out for metamaterial problems, mechanical problems, and thermal problems of multiscale structures. Finally, numerical validation and manufacturing are carried out on the design results, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

The water curtain spray system of the ship helps reduce surface thermal load and lowers thermal infrared radiation, notably enhancing the stealth and survivability of naval ships. The performance of the water curtain spray system is largely influenced by the density of the nozzles and their installation height. Therefore, a test platform was established to investigate these critical influencing factors, employing an orthogonal design methodology for the experimental study. Specifically, the study evaluated the effects of varying distances to the steel plate target and different injection heights on the cooling performance of the system. Results demonstrate that using one nozzle per 4 square meters of the ship's surface area effectively lowers the surface temperature, bringing it closer to the ambient background temperature. This nozzle configuration creates irregular infrared heat patterns, which complicate the task for infrared detectors to discern the ship's outline, thus enhancing its infrared stealth. Additionally, maintaining the nozzle installation height within 0.6 m to prevent the temperature difference between the steel plate and the background temperature from exceeding 4 K. Moreover, as the infrared imaging distance increases from 3 to 9 m, the temperature difference measured by the thermocouple and the infrared imager increases by 141.27%. Furthermore, with the increase in infrared imaging distance, the infrared temperature of the target steel plate approaches the background temperature, indicating improved detectability. These findings have significantly enhanced the stealth capabilities of naval ships, maximizing their immunity to infrared-guided weapon attacks. Moreover, their importance in improving the survivability of ships on the water surface cannot be underestimated.

Under complex flight conditions,such as obstacle avoidance and extreme sea state,wing-in-ground(WIG)effect aircraft need to ascend to higher altitudes,resulting in the disappearance of the ground effect.A design of high-speed WIG airfoil considering non-ground effect is carried out by a novel two-step inverse airfoil design method that combines conditional generative adversarial network(CGAN)and artificial neural network(ANN).The CGAN model is employed to generate a variety of airfoil designs that satisfy the desired lift-drag ratios in both ground effect and non-ground effect ***,the ANN model is utilized to forecast aerodynamic parameters of the generated *** results indicate that the CGAN model contributes to a high accuracy rate for airfoil design and enables the creation of novel airfoil ***,it demonstrates high accuracy in predicting aerodynamic parameters of these airfoils due to the ANN *** method eliminates the necessity for numerical simulations and experimental testing through the design procedure,showcasing notable *** analysis of airfoils generated by the CGAN model shows that airfoils exhibiting high lift-drag ratios under both flight conditions typically have cambers of among[0.08c,0.105c],with the positions of maximum camber occurring among[0.35c,0.5c]of the chord length,and the leading-edge radiuses of these airfoils primarily cluster among[0.008c,0.025c]

Fluid Dynamics and Infrared Stealth of Marine IRS Devices: A Review

Infrared suppression (IRS) devices for naval ships play a crucial role in reducing the infrared radiation signature of high-temperature exhaust, thereby enhancing the survivability of ships against infrared-guided weapons. This paper provides a comprehensive review of recent advancements in the design and optimization of IRS devices. The primary research problem of the devices is the need to effectively suppress infrared radiation from ship exhaust gases, which are the main targets of infrared-guided missiles. To achieve this, the paper analyzes the infrared characteristics of exhaust systems from the perspectives of fluid dynamics, radiation sources, and radiation transmission, with a detailed explanation of the associated physical mechanisms and computational methods. The working principles and structural features of commonly used IRS devices, such as eductor/diffuser (E/D) devices and DRES-Ball devices, are introduced, with a focus on the design and optimization of key components, including nozzles, mixing diffusers, and optical blocking obstacles. Advanced suppression technologies, such as water injection and aerosol particle dispersion, are also discussed as auxiliary methods to enhance the infrared stealth capabilities. The review highlights that the advanced cooling mechanisms and optical property modifications can significantly reduce the infrared radiation of exhaust plumes. Furthermore, the paper identifies several challenges and future research directions, including the performance impacts of multi-device coordinated operation, the development of intelligent adaptive control systems, and the pursuit of lightweight and modular designs to meet the high mobility requirements of modern naval ships. This review aims to provide theoretical support and technical guidance for the practical design of IRS devices, offering valuable insights for the development of next-generation infrared stealth technologies for naval vessels. © 2025 The Author(s). DNA methylation is a critical epigenetic modification that plays a central role in gene regulation, cellular differentiation, and the development of various diseases, including cancers. Aberrant methylation patterns have emerged as both biomarkers and mechanistic drivers in pathogenesis, underscoring the urgent need for precise and efficient predictive tools. Although some deep learning techniques have advanced methylation prediction, most existing models are trained independently on single-species datasets. This species-specific approach limits efficiency because each model can only handle one dataset at a time, often at the expense of predictive performance. Additionally, the state-of-the-art deep learning models tend to have enormous parameter counts and computational overhead, making them impractical for integration into local offline software applications. To overcome these challenges, we propose AutoFE-Pointer, a lightweight and novel framework that harnesses an improved softened pointer network to dynamically extract and weight features from diverse DNA sequences. AutoFE-Pointer is designed to simultaneously process 17 different benchmark datasets spanning multiple species, achieving superior performance compared to models that are trained individually on single-species data. In doing so, it not only offers state-of-the-art predictive accuracy and robust cross-species generalization but also significantly reduces computational demands, facilitating its deployment in local offline environments. This breakthrough represents a significant advancement in the field of epigenetic modeling and computational biology. © 2025
