In the conventional use of the house bell, the first impression that arises is that it can only give a message ringing people who are in the house so that the person knows that guests are coming to the house, what will be the problem is what if there is no one in the house or the owner. Home away from home for a long time, so that any guests who come will not be detected. For this reason, a system is needed to make it easier for homeowners to provide message information that there are visitors to the house at some time which can be recorded on the device (notification bell) based on Internet of Things (IoT) and send the information via e-mail. This research was designed using internet-based Node-MCU as the hardware. It used a flowchart which contains procedures for how the doorbell notification device works and realtime time measurement using phpmailer as the software. The results of this study, in the form of a doorbell notification tool that can provide realtime messages to homeowners when there are known or unknown visitors. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Identifying the identity of a prisoner in a detention cell, through facial recognition automatically is a big, exciting problem and there are many different approaches to solve this problem because it must detect multiple faces (multi-face). Especially in uncontrolled real-life scenarios, faces will be seen from various sides and not always facing forward, which makes classification problems more difficult to solve. In this research, one method is combined deep neural networks that is Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Haar Cascade Classifier as real-time facial recognition, which has proven to be very efficient in face classification. Methods are implemented with assistance library Open-CV for multi-face detection and 5MP CCTV camera devices. In preparing the architectural model Convolutional Neural Networks Do configuration parameter initialization to speed up the network training process. Test results on 51 test data using constructs Convolutional Neural Networks VGG16 models up to a depth of 16 layers of convolution layers with input from the extraction of the Haar Cascade Classifier resulting in facial recognition system performance reaching an accuracy rate of about 87%. © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Experimental learning method offers more experience and knowledge for learners. This research aims to determine the influence of computer based training utilizzation on learning outcomes of solid state electronics viewed from different learning style. Computer Based Training (CBT) is part of Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI), which is learning by using computer aids, such as for presentations as teaching aids and so on. CBT, which refers to Electronics WorkBench (EWB) is a category of software tools that can be used to simulate the workings of an electronic circuit both analog and digital. learning style is the way individuals begin to concentrate on, process, internalize, and remember new and difficult academic information or skill. Using CBT on experimental learning with different learning style could result on different learning outcomes. This research used quantitative approach in quasi-experimental frame. In this research, the compared conditions were the experimental learning method with CBT and analog experimenter and learning style, which were grouped into three, visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning style. The research instrument used were questionnaires and tests, while the data analysis used two ways of ANOVA. The statistical analysis showed that there was difference learning outcomes in Electronica Solid State Subject among experimental learning with CBT and analog experimenter. Furthermore, there was no interaction among the experimental learning with CBT and the learning style in terms of their effect towards learning outcomes. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Nowadays, progressive parking systems still have disadvantages. It only serves to notify total parking rates to motorized vehicle users when they are still in the parking area. Besides, the payment uses cash. Meanwhile, some users want to pay parking fees using tokens or virtual money. It has dual functions. They are a total parking tariff notification online and to reduce the leakage of parking rates because parking users are not given tickets by park officials. Moreover, it can find out the position of the vehicle in the parking area. By using the GPS Module, it will send data to Arduino Uno if the vehicle is in the parking area. Furthermore, it will activate the initial parking time with the Wemos D1 Mini controller. Later, it will provide notifications on the user's smartphone using the Blynk application. Users can find out the total parking rates that will be paid through notifications on the smartphone and directly cut the balance in the parking user account progressively. The trial of an opened area progressive parking system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) produces a tool that is able to provide modern notifications using wireless or hotspot connections. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Designing a building automation system with open protocol communication and intelligent electronic devices

Building Automation System (BAS) is a microprocessor-based control network setup for controlling a building’s technical service systems such as air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, and hydraulics. BAS main microcontroller automatically handles all electronics in the building. To control the liked devices to suit the needs of the buildings’ occupants, the controller needs to be smart or intelligent. The system will be very flexible if the communication network between control and device used an open communication protocol. In this paper, we present a miniature BAS solution implemented using intelligent electronic devices (IED) as controlling devices. The system is built using 8-bit microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators. There are three IED in use, each handling lighting, air conditioning, and water pumps respectively. Communication between the devices and the human-machine interface (HMI) used the free and open Modbus TCP protocol.
