Performance tests and analyses are critical to effective HPC software development and are central components in the design and implementation of computational algorithms for achieving faster simulations on existing and future computing architectures for large-scale application problems. In this paper, we explore performance and space-time trade-offs for important compute-intensive kernels of large-scale numerical solvers for PDEs that govern a wide range of physical applications. We consider a sequence of PDE-motivated bake-off problems designed to establish best practices for efficient high-order simulations across a variety of codes and platforms. We measure peak performance (degrees of freedom per second) on a fixed number of nodes and identify effective code optimization strategies for each architecture. In addition to peak performance, we identify the minimum time to solution at 80% parallel efficiency. This study uses Random Forest machine learning to explore the distribution of soil parent material in Morelos, Mexico. Elemental composition was determined using a portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) spectrometer, and soil variability was examined using magnetic susceptibility (MS) measurements over the A and b horizons. The goal was to improve soil categorisation and mapping accuracy to promote sustainable land management and agricultural operations. The statistical study indicated substantial differences between soil horizons: Magnesium content ranged from 7.1 % to 15.7 % (mean: 11.4 %) in the A horizon and from 8.0 % to 20.9 % (mean: 10.4 %) in the b horizon;iron concentrations exhibited lower variability, with mean values of 8.9 % (A horizon) and 7.4 % (b horizon);calcium displayed the most significant variation, with a maximum of 28.5 % in the b horizon;silicon remained relatively stable, with mean values of 3.8 % (A horizon) and 4.0 % (b horizon);and magnetic susceptibility showed substantial dif The Random Forest model accurately reflected geographic variations in soil parent material, emphasizing important geochemical and mineralogical distinctions. The findings highlight machine learning's potential for high-resolution soil mapping and categorisation. This approach lays the groundwork for enhanced soil fertility assessments, erosion management, and land-use planning. Future study should include additional geographic and environmental factors to improve model accuracy and prediction capabilities. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

This paper describes the process through which “Secured payment system using face recognition technique”- project has been made. It describes the main objective of the project which is to be able to develop a secured and robust payment system using face recognition in python programming language with the help of OpenCV. It uses confidence value which can be described as the value generated by the system informing us about the accuracy of prediction. This project was made by combining various detection modules and pattern recognizer. In this project various existing methods are combined together to give us the result. Pin and one time password (OTP) are used for security measures to make safe and successful transaction. OTP will be sent to the registered phone number of the user.

A recommender system is a filtering tool that provides customized suggestions of products to users by using various techniques. A hybrid recommender system combines the approaches of two or more techniques, primarily focusing on Content-based recommender systems and Collaborative recommender systems, thus proving better suggestions by exploiting the advantages of both the strategies. This paper provides a detailed review of the various ways to implement a Hybrid Recommender System, enabling the reader to get a bird’s eye view on the concept. The study allows the user to understand the relationship between data characteristics and the relative performance of various approaches to a Hybrid Recommender System. The flow of the research starts with a description of the initial models of Recommender Systems, followed by a study on the application of Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms to the Hybrid Recommenders. The contributions to the study are dichotomous: 1) to identify and discuss the various techniques for Hybrid Recommendation Systems via a Systematic literature review and 2) to compare the various techniques to get a clear view of the efficiency and the accuracy of each technique. At the end of the study, the reader understands the development flow of Hybrid Recommender Systems and gets a clear idea of how various Recommender Systems work. It is observed that the technique which incorporates Deep Learning provides better results. © 2019 JPR Solutions. All rights reserved.

In the process of medication, it is a common practice to treat patients with saline for dehydration and other medical ailments to improve the health condition of the patients. When fed with saline continuous observation of nurses is mandatory in monitoring the level of the saline. There are many cases where patients are being harmed due to the staff inattentiveness, as their absence does not notice the completion of saline level in the container. This arise the problem of back flow of blood immediately after the completion of saline in container. Hence to protect the patient from getting harmed an IoT based saline level monitoring system has been developed. The proposed model incorporates a sensor which continuously detects the saline drops. Whenever the sensor does not detect the drops for a certain interval it alerts the staff of the hospital with the buzzer, helping to monitor the safety of the patients.

This paper investigates the secrecy performance of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system with transmit antenna selection (TAS) and maximal-ratio combining (MRC) over generalized α-μ fading. In the underlying wireless communication system, a single antenna is selected to transmit confidential messages to a multi-antenna receiver in the presence of a passive multi-antenna eavesdropper. In our analysis, new closed-form expressions are obtained for the secrecy outage probability (SOP) and the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity (SPSC), and are subsequently corroborated through Monte Carlo simulations to assess their validity. Moreover, asymptotic studies of the secrecy outage probability are derived and explicitly show the effects of various system parameters on the secrecy diversity gain. © 2019 IEEE.

This paper investigates the secrecy performance of multiple-input multiple-output systems under generalized α -μ fading conditions. To this end, we focus on two distinct scenarios: 1) the transmitter has knowledge of the channel state information (CSI) of the eavesdropper channel and 2) the transmitter is not aware of the CSI of the wiretap link. by considering transmit antenna selection in the underlying system, we develop closed-form analytical expressions for the lower bound of the secrecy outage probability (SOP) and the probability of the strictly positive secrecy capacity. Furthermore, two novel approaches are proposed to derive an analytical expression of the average secrecy capacity (ASC). First, the ASC is expressed as a function of the average capacity of the desired link and an interaction term regarded as the ASC loss. Second, the ASC is expressed in terms of the average capacities of the desired and eavesdropper links, plus an interaction term that can be regarded as some sort of ASC gain due to the statistical independence between the desired and eavesdropper links. In addition, asymptotic studies of the SOP and the ASC at high signal-to-noise ratio are carried out, which precisely reveal the secrecy diversity and array gains. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

In the medical field, many images are acquired using different modalities like X-ray, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Organizing these images and retrieving them is a critical task. In this paper, a novel retinal image retrieval and automatic annotation of ten different retinal diseases is presented and is comprised of three steps namely, feature extraction, automatic annotation and retrieval of similar images. In feature extraction, visual features like texture, color and shape were derived from the images and stored in a database. The retinal images are affected by various diseases and have to be identified easily and quickly for better treatment. For automatic annotation, we have considered ten different retinal diseases and annotated the retinal image with its corresponding disease using Support Vector Machine (SVM) with Active Learning (AL) and discriminative based automatic image annotation. In retrieval of images, bray Curtis distance measure was used to retrieve the similar images by comparing the feature values of images stored in the database. Our proposed system has achieved a precision of 82% and specificity of 96.3%.

We present three-dimensional (3D) maps of Jupiter’s atmospheric circulation at cloud-top level from Doppler-imaging data obtained in the visible domain with JIVE, the second node of the JOVIAL network, which is mounted on the Dunn Solar Telescope at Sunspot, New Mexico. We report on 12 nights of observations between 2018 May 4 and May 30, representing a total of about 80 hr. First, the average zonal wind profile derived from our data is compatible with that derived from cloud-tracking measurements performed on Hubble Space Telescope images obtained in 2018 April from the Outer Planet Atmospheres Legacy program. Second, we present the first ever 2D maps of Jupiter’s atmospheric circulation from Doppler measurements. The zonal velocity map highlights well-known atmospheric features, such as the equatorial hot spots and the Great Red Spot (GRS). In addition to zonal winds, we derive meridional and vertical velocity fields from the Doppler data. The motions attributed to vertical flows are mainly located at the boundary between the equatorial belts and tropical zones, which could indicate active motion in theses regions. Qualitatively, these results compare well to recent Juno data that have unveiled the 3D structure of Jupiter’s wind field. To the contrary, the motions attributed to meridional circulation are very different from what is obtained by cloud tracking, except at the GRS. because of limitations with data resolution and processing techniques, we acknowledge that our measurements of the vertical or meridional flows of Jupiter are still to be confirmed. © 2023, CC bY.

The Illinois Express Quantum Network (IEQNET) is a program to realize metro-scale quantum networking over deployed optical fiber using currently available technology. IEQNET consists of multiple sites that are geographically dispersed in the Chicago metropolitan area. Each site has one or more quantum nodes (Q-nodes) representing the communication parties in a quantum network. Q-nodes generate or measure quantum signals such as entangled photons and communicate the results via standard, classical, means. The entangled photons in IEQNET nodes are generated at multiple wavelengths, and are selectively distributed to the desired users via optical switches. Here we describe the network architecture of IEQNET, including the Internet-inspired layered hierarchy that leverages software-defined-networking (SDN) technology to perform traditional wavelength routing and assignment between the Q-nodes. Specifically, SDN decouples the control and data planes, with the control plane being entirely classical. Issues associated with synchronization, calibration, network monitoring, and scheduling will be discussed. An important goal of IEQNET is demonstrating the extent to which the control plane can coexist with the data plane using the same fiber lines. This goal is furthered by the use of tunable narrow-band optical filtering at the receivers and, at least in some cases, a wide wavelength separation between the quantum and classical channels. We envision IEQNET to aid in developing robust and practical quantum networks by demonstrating metro-scale quantum communication tasks such as entanglement distribution and quantum-state teleportation. © 2021, CC bY.
