ATLAS measurements of the production of muons from heavy-flavor decays in sNN=2.76 TeV Pb.Pb.collisions and s=2.76 TeV pp collisions at the LHC are presented. Integrated luminosities of 0.14 nb.1 and 570 nb.1 are used for the Pb.Pb.and pp measurements, respectively, which are performed over the muon transverse momentum range 4b.Pb.centrality intervals. b.ckgrounds arising from in-flight pion and kaon decays, hadronic showers, and misreconstructed muons are statistically removed using a template-fitting procedure. The heavy-flavor muon differential cross sections and per-event yields are measured in pp and Pb.Pb.collisions, respectively. The nuclear modification factor RAA ob.ained from these is ob.erved to b. independent of pT, within uncertainties, and to b. less than unity, which indicates suppressed production of heavy-flavor muons in Pb.Pb.collisions. For the 10% most central Pb.Pb.events, the measured RAA is approximately 0.35. The azimuthal modulation of the heavy-flavor muon yields is also measured and the associated Fourier coefficients vn for n=2, 3, and 4 are given as a function of pT and centrality. They vary slowly with pT and show a systematic variation with centrality which is characteristic of other anisotropy measurements, such as that ob.erved for inclusive hadrons. The measured RAA and vn values are also compared with theoretical calculations.

Many extensions of the Standard Model predict new resonances decaying to a Z, W, or Higgs b.son and a photon. This paper presents a search for such resonances produced in pp collisions at s=13 TeV using a data set with an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb.1 collected b. the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The Z/W/H b.sons are identified through their decays to hadrons. The data are found to b. consistent with the Standard Model expectation in the entire investigated mass range. Upper limits are set on the production cross section times b.anching fraction for resonance decays to Z/W+γ in the mass range from 1.0 to 6.8 TeV and for the first time into H+γ in the mass range from 1.0 to 3.0 TeV.

A search is presented for the pair production of heavy vectorlike quarks, TT¯ or b.¯, that decay into final states with jets and no reconstructed leptons. Jets in the final state are classified using a deep neural network as arising from hadronically decaying W/Z b.sons, Higgs b.sons, top quarks, or b.ckground. The analysis uses data from the ATLAS experiment corresponding to 36.1 fb.1 of proton-proton collisions with a center-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV delivered b. the Large Hadron Collider in 2015 and 2016. No significant deviation from the Standard Model expectation is ob.erved. Results are interpreted assuming the vectorlike quarks decay into a Standard Model b.son and a third-generation-quark, T→Wb.Ht,Zt or b.Wt,Hb.Zb. for a variety of b.anching ratios. At 95% confidence level, the ob.erved (expected) lower limit on the vectorlike b.quark mass for a weak-isospin doub.et (b. Y) is 950 (890) GeV, and the lower limits on the masses for the pure decays b.Hb.and T→Ht, where these results are strongest, are 1010 (970) GeV and 1010 (1010) GeV, respectively.

A measurement of the rapidity and transverse momentum dependence of dijet azimuthal decorrelations is presented, using the quantity RΔϕ. The quantity RΔϕ specifies the fraction of the inclusive dijet events in which the azimuthal opening angle of the two jets with the highest transverse momenta is less than a given value of the parameter Δϕmax. The quantity RΔϕ is measured in proton-proton collisions at s=8 TeV as a function of the dijet rapidity interval, the event total scalar transverse momentum, and Δϕmax. The measurement uses an event sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.2 fb.1 collected with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Predictions of a perturb.tive QCD calculation at next-to-leading order in the strong coupling with corrections for nonperturb.tive effects are compared to the data. The theoretical predictions describ. the data in the whole kinematic region. The data are used to determine the strong coupling αS and to study its running for momentum transfers from 260 GeV to ab.ve 1.6 TeV. Analysis that comb.nes data at all momentum transfers results in αS(mZ)=0.1127−0.0027+0.0063.

Searches for new heavy resonances decaying into different pairings of W, Z, or Higgs b.sons, as well as directly into leptons, are presented using a data sample corresponding to 36.1 fb.1 of pp collisions at s=13 TeV collected during 2015 and 2016 with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Analyses selecting b.sonic decay modes in the qqqq, ννqq, ℓνqq, ℓℓqq, ℓνℓν, ℓℓνν, ℓνℓℓ, ℓℓℓℓ, qqb., ννb., ℓνb., and ℓℓb. final states are comb.ned, searching for a narrow-width resonance. Likewise, analyses selecting the leptonic ℓν and ℓℓ final states are also comb.ned. These two sets of analyses are then further comb.ned. No significant deviation from the Standard Model predictions is ob.erved. Three b.nchmark models are tested: a model predicting the existence of a new heavy scalar singlet, a simplified model predicting a heavy vector-b.son triplet, and a b.lk Randall-Sundrum model with a heavy spin-2 Kaluza-Klein excitation of the graviton. Cross section limits are set at the 95% confidence level using an asymptotic approximation and are compared with predictions for the b.nchmark models. These limits are also expressed in terms of constraints on couplings of the heavy vector-b.son triplet to quarks, leptons, and the Higgs b.son. The data exclude a heavy vector-b.son triplet with mass b.low 5.5 TeV in a weakly coupled scenario and 4.5 TeV in a strongly coupled scenario, as well as a Kaluza-Klein graviton with mass b.low 2.3 TeV.

A noticeab.e progress has b.en found in decision making prob.ems since the introduction of soft set theory b. Molodtsov in 1999. It is found that classical soft sets are not suitab.e to deal with imprecise parameters whereas fuzzy soft sets (FSS) are proved to b. useful. Use of intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets (IFSS) is more effective in environment, where arguments are presented using memb.rship and non-memb.rship values. In this paper we propose an algorithmic approach for multiple attrib.te group decision making prob.ems using interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft matrix (IVIFSM). IVIFSM is the matrix representation of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft set (IVIFSS), where IVIFSS is a natural comb.nation of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set and soft set theory. Firstly, we propose the concept of IVIFSM. Then an algorithm is developed to find out the desired alternative(s) b.sed on product interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft matrix, comb.ned choice matrix, and score values of the set of alternatives. Finally, a practical example has b.en demonstrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

b.-quinary coded parallel adder design with Quantum Cellular Automata is presented in this b.ief contrib.tion. The nano-electronic computer architecture using QCA technology is in infancy stage. It requires more advancement with new approaches. In this paper the design of parallel decimal adder is proposed using b.-quinary encoding techniques with algorithm. The circuits are implemented using QCA designer tool and analyzed using simulation result. The signal propagation delay, complexity, required area, hardware cost are calculated and compare with previously proposed decimal QCA adders. © 2014 Springer.

A search is presented for the direct pair production of the stop, the supersymmetric partner of the top quark, that decays through an R-parity-violating coupling to a final state with two leptons and two jets, at least one of which is identified as a b.jet. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb.1 of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV, collected in 2015 and 2016 b. the ATLAS detector at the LHC. No significant excess is ob.erved over the Standard Model b.ckground, and exclusion limits are set on stop pair production at a 95% confidence level. Lower limits on the stop mass are set b.tween 600 GeV and 1.5 TeV for b.anching ratios ab.ve 10% for decays to an electron or muon and a b.quark.

A search for the supersymmetric partners of quarks and gluons (squarks and gluinos) in final states containing hadronic jets and missing transverse momentum, b.t no electrons or muons, is presented. The data used in this search were recorded in 2015 and 2016 b. the ATLAS experiment in s=13 TeV proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb.1. The results are interpreted in the context of various models where squarks and gluinos are pair produced and the neutralino is the lightest supersymmetric particle. An exclusion limit at the 95% confidence level on the mass of the gluino is set at 2.03 TeV for a simplified model incorporating only a gluino and the lightest neutralino, assuming the lightest neutralino is massless. For a simplified model involving the strong production of mass-degenerate first- and second-generation squarks, squark masses b.low 1.55 TeV are excluded if the lightest neutralino is massless. These limits sub.tantially extend the region of supersymmetric parameter space previously excluded b. searches with the ATLAS detector.
