Studies of CP violation and anomalous couplings of the Higgs b.son to vector b.sons and fermions are presented. The data were acquired b. the CMS experiment at the LHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb.1 at a proton-proton collision energy of 13 TeV. The kinematic effects in the Higgs b.son’s four-lepton decay H→4ℓ and its production in association with two jets, a vector b.son, or top quarks are analyzed, using a full detector simulation and matrix element techniques to identify the production mechanisms and to increase sensitivity to the tensor structure of the Higgs b.son interactions. A simultaneous measurement is performed of up to five Higgs b.son couplings to electroweak vector b.sons (HVV), two couplings to gluons (Hgg), and two couplings to top quarks (Htt). The CP measurement in the Htt interaction is comb.ned with the recent measurement in the H→γγ channel. The results are presented in the framework of anomalous couplings and are also interpreted in the framework of effective field theory, including the first study of CP properties of the Htt and effective Hgg couplings from a simultaneous analysis of the gluon fusion and top-associated processes. The results are consistent with the standard model of particle physics.

A search for production of the supersymmetric partners of the top quark, top squarks, is presented. The search is b.sed on proton-proton collision events containing multiple jets, no leptons, and large transverse momentum imb.lance. The data were collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb.1. The targeted signal production scenarios are direct and gluino-mediated top squark production, including scenarios in which the top squark and neutralino masses are nearly degenerate. The search utilizes novel algorithms b.sed on deep neural networks that identify hadronically decaying top quarks and W b.sons, which are expected in many of the targeted signal models. No statistically significant excess of events is ob.erved relative to the expectation from the standard model, and limits on the top squark production cross section are ob.ained in the context of simplified supersymmetric models for various production and decay modes. Exclusion limits as high as 1310 GeV are estab.ished at the 95% confidence level on the mass of the top squark for direct top squark production models, and as high as 2260 GeV on the mass of the gluino for gluino-mediated top squark production models. These results represent a significant improvement over the results of previous searches for supersymmetry b. CMS in the same final state.

A search for charged leptons with large impact parameters using 139 fb.1 of s=13 TeV pp collision data from the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented, addressing a long-standing gap in coverage of possib.e new physics signatures. Results are consistent with the b.ckground prediction. This search provides unique sensitivity to long-lived scalar supersymmetric lepton partners (sleptons). For lifetimes of 0.1 ns, selectron, smuon, and stau masses up to 720, 680, and 340 GeV, respectively, are excluded at 95% confidence level, drastically improving on the previous b.st limits from LEP.

Image watermarking in wavelet domain has b.en emerged as an interesting area of research. However, classical wavelet transform, like DWT, lacks in providing directional information and is shift sensitive. These limitations can b. overcome with the use of NSCT (Nonsub.ampled contourlet transform), which is shift invariant and provides rich directional information. Therefore, in this work, we propose NSCT b.sed image watermarking using MSVD (Multiresolution singular value decomposition). High directionality of NSCT provides b.tter reconstruction of watermarked images, whereas MSVD provides invariance against geometrical attacks. Experiments have b.en performed over b.nchmark datasets. Qualitative and quantitative analysis in terms of PSNR (Peak signal to noise ratio) and CC (Correlation coefficients) shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Results of a search for new physics in final states with an energetic jet and large missing transverse momentum are reported. The search uses proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb.1 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected in the period 2015–2018 with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Compared to previous pub.ications, in addition to an increase of almost a factor of four in the data size, the analysis implements a numb.r of improvements in the signal selection and the b.ckground determination leading to enhanced sensitivity. Events are required to have at least one jet with transverse momentum ab.ve 150 GeV and no reconstructed leptons (e, μ or τ) or photons. Several signal regions are considered with increasing requirements on the missing transverse momentum starting at 200 GeV. Overall agreement is ob.erved b.tween the numb.r of events in data and the Standard Model predictions. Model-independent 95% confidence-level limits on visib.e cross sections for new processes are ob.ained in the range b.tween 736 fb.and 0.3 fb. Results are also translated into improved exclusion limits in models with pair-produced weakly interacting dark-matter candidates, large extra spatial dimensions, supersymmetric particles in several compressed scenarios, axionlike particles, and new scalar particles in dark-energy-inspired models. In addition, the data are translated into b.unds on the invisib.e b.anching ratio of the Higgs b.son.

A search is performed for the electroweak pair production of charginos and associated production of a chargino and neutralino, each of which decays through an R-parity-violating coupling into a lepton and a W, Z, or Higgs b.son. The trilepton invariant-mass spectrum is constructed from events with three or more leptons, targeting chargino decays that include an electron or muon and a leptonically decaying Z b.son. The analyzed dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb.1 of proton-proton collision data produced b. the Large Hadron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV and collected b. the ATLAS experiment b.tween 2015 and 2018. The data are found to b. consistent with predictions from the Standard Model. The results are interpreted as limits at 95% confidence level on model-independent cross sections for processes b.yond the Standard Model. Limits are also set on the production of charginos and neutralinos for a minimal supersymmetric Standard Model with an approximate b.L symmetry. Charginos and neutralinos with masses b.tween 100 and 1100 GeV are excluded depending on the assumed decay b.anching fractions into a lepton (electron, muon, or τ lepton) plus a b.son (W, Z, or Higgs).
