Measurements of normalized differential cross sections of top quark pair (tt¯) production are presented as a function of the mass, the transverse momentum and the rapidity of the tt¯ system in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of s=7 and 8 TeV. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb.1 at 7 TeV and 20.2 fb.1 at 8 TeV, recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events with top quark pair signatures are selected in the dilepton final state, requiring exactly two charged leptons and at least two jets with at least one of the jets identified as likely to contain a b.hadron. The measured distrib.tions are corrected for detector effects and selection efficiency to cross sections at the parton level. The differential cross sections are compared with different Monte Carlo generators and theoretical calculations of tt¯ production. The results are consistent with the majority of predictions in a wide kinematic range.

This paper presents a search for massive charged long-lived particles produced in pp collisions at s=13 TeV at the LHC using the ATLAS experiment. The data set used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb.1. Many extensions of the Standard Model predict the existence of massive charged long-lived particles, such as R-hadrons. These massive particles are expected to b. produced with a velocity significantly b.low the speed of light, and therefore to have a specific ionization higher than any Standard Model particle of unit charge at high momenta. The Pixel sub.ystem of the ATLAS detector is used to measure the ionization energy loss of reconstructed charged particles and to search for such highly ionizing particles. The search presented here has much greater sensitivity than a similar search performed using the ATLAS detector in the s=8 TeV data set, thanks to the increase in expected signal cross section due to the higher center-of-mass energy of collisions, to an upgraded detector with a new silicon layer close to the interaction point, and to analysis improvements. No significant deviation from Standard Model b.ckground expectations is ob.erved, and lifetime-dependent upper limits on R-hadron production cross sections and masses are set. Gluino R-hadrons with lifetimes ab.ve 0.4 ns and decaying to qq¯ plus a 100 GeV neutralino are excluded at the 95% confidence level, with lower mass limit ranging b.tween 740 and 1590 GeV. In the case of stab.e R-hadrons the lower mass limit at the 95% confidence level is 1570 GeV.

This article reports on a search for dark matter pair production in association with a Higgs b.son decaying to a pair of b.ttom quarks, using data from 20.3 fb.1 of pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV collected b. the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The decay of the Higgs b.son is reconstructed as a high-momentum b.¯ system with either a pair of small-radius jets, or a single large-radius jet with sub.tructure. The ob.erved data are found to b. consistent with the expected Standard Model b.ckgrounds. Model-independent upper limits are placed on the visib.e cross sections for events with a Higgs b.son decaying into b.¯ and large missing transverse momentum with thresholds ranging from 150 to 400 GeV. Results are interpreted using a simplified model with a Z′ gauge b.son decaying into different Higgs b.sons predicted in a two-Higgs-doub.et model, of which the heavy pseudoscalar Higgs decays into a pair of dark matter particles. Exclusion limits are also presented for the mass scales of various effective field theory operators that describ. the interaction b.tween dark matter particles and the Higgs b.son.

The effect of cross section dimension in trapezoid tunnel on cutoff frequency is analyzed with edge element method. The variation of cutoff frequency in trapezoid tunnel with top side, b.ttom side and height changes are found, respectively. It comes to a useful conclusion that the cutoff frequency of trapezoid tunnel is determined b. the larger one of tunnel's height and the average of tunnel's top side and tunnel's b.ttom side. A simple equivalent formula is given to calculate the dominant mode cutoff frequency in trapezoid waveguide. Computation results are presented to show the validity and the accuracy of the equivalent method. © 2012 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose the spatial domain b.sed watermarking scheme for color images. The proposed scheme emb.ds the watermark into cover image in YCb.r (Luminance, chrominance) components of the color cover image. This scheme uses the Sob.l and Canny edge detection methods to determine edge information of the Luminance and chrominance components of the color image. The edge detection methods are used to determine the emb.dding capacity of each color components. The large capacities of watermark b.ts are emb.dded into a component of large edge information. The rob.stness of the proposed scheme is analyzed considering different types of image processing attacks, like b.urring and adding noise.

A search for the standard model Higgs b.son produced in association with a vector b.son with the decay H→ττ is presented. The data correspond to 20.3 fb.1 of integrated luminosity from proton-proton collisions at s=8 TeV recorded b. the ATLAS experiment at the LHC during 2012. The data agree with the b.ckground expectation, and 95% confidence-level upper limits are placed on the cross section of this process. The ob.erved (expected) limit, expressed in terms of the signal strength μ=σ/σSM for mH=125 GeV, is μ<5.6 (3.7). The measured value of the signal strength is μ=2.3±1.6.

This paper describ.s the design and manufacture of a low-cost full scale pultrusion prototype equipment and discusses the production and mechanical properties of polypropylene/glass (GF/PP) reinforced composite b.rs fab.icated b. using the prototype equipment. Three different GF/PP pre-impregnated raw-materials, a commercial GF/PP comingled system from Vetrotex, a GF/PP powder coated towpreg [1-3] and, a GF/PP pre-consolidated tape (PCT) produced in our lab.ratories, were used in the production of composite b.rs that were sub.equently sub.itted to mechanical testing in order to determine the relevant mechanical properties and quantify the consolidation quality. Samples of the different composite profiles were also ob.erved under SEM microscopy.

Recent advances in tech.ology and wireless sensor networks made new trends to emerge in agriculture sector. One such new trend is Precision Agriculture(PA). This paper presents an automatic Irrigation Controller for precision agriculture. The irrigation controller regulates the desired moisture level in agricultural soil b. making the irrigation pump on or off b.sed on the sensor readings. This controller efficiently monitors moisture level in soil and proves efficient in b.th dry and heavy rainfall conditions. © 2011 IEEE.

In recent years, there has b.en a large increase in the use of polymers in engineering applications. Silica-styrene-b.tadiene rub.er filled hyb.id composites is a material designed with different weight % of silica and styrene-b.tadiene rub.er. Five crosshead speeds (0.01 mm/min, 0.1 mm/min, 1mm/min, 10mm/min and 100mm/min) are considered in this study. The results showed that yield stress and elastic modulus decreased with decreasing crosshead speed. An artificial neural network model is presented to predict the mechanical properties. The result of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) shows a good interaction b.tween filler materials and testing condition b. 99% confidence level. In the present investigation Scanning Electron Microscope studies has b.en done to see the dispersion of silica and styrene-b.tadiene rub.er particles in resin.

Multi-polarization of a flower shaped Microstrip antenna sub.array with directivity and gain enhancement for radar application in S b.nd is explained here. Sub.array consists of planar side flower shaped five Microstrip patch antennas with a dual fed element feeding the outer patches through a straightforward network of resonant Micro strip lines. The central Patch is excited b. a pair of coaxial-prob.s fed for Circular polarization. b. properly exciting the sub.array, any kind of polarization of the radiated field can b. ob.ained.
