esA's Jupiter Icy Moons explorer (JUICe) will provide a detailed investigation of the Jovian system in the 2030s, combining a suite of state-of-the-art instruments with an orbital tour tailored to maximise ob.e.ving opportunities. We review the Jupiter science enab.e. by the JUICe mission, building on the legacy of discoveries from the Galileo, Cassini, and Juno missions, alongside ground- and space-based ob.e.vatories. We focus on remote sensing of the climate, meteorology, and chemistry of the atmosphere and auroras from the cloud-forming weather layer, through the upper troposphere, into the stratosphere and ionosphere. The Jupiter orbital tour provides a wealth of opportunities for atmospheric and auroral science: global perspectives with its near-equatorial and inclined phases, sampling all phase angles from dayside to nightside, and investigating phenomena evolving on timescales from minutes to months. The remote sensing payload spans far-UV spectroscopy (50-210 nm), visib.e.imaging (340-1080 nm), visib.e.near-infrared spectroscopy (0.49-5.56 µm), and sub-millimetre sounding (near 530-625 GHz and 1067-1275 GHz). This is coupled to radio, stellar, and solar occultation opportunities to explore the atmosphere at high vertical resolution;and radio and plasma wave measurements of electric discharges in the Jovian atmosphere and auroras. Cross-disciplinary scientific investigations enab.e.JUICe to explore coupling processes in giant planet atmospheres, to show how the atmosphere is connected to (i) the deep circulation and composition of the hydrogen-dominated interior;and (ii) to the currents and charged particle environments of the external magnetosphere. JUICe will provide a comprehensive characterisation of the atmosphere and auroras of this archetypal giant planet. © 2023, CC bY.

The hydrodynamic flow-like behavior of charged hadrons in high-energy lead-lead collisions is studied through multiparticle correlations. The elliptic anisotropy values based on different orders of multiparticle cumulants, v2sub>{2k}, are measured up to the tenth order (k = 5) as functions of the collision centrality at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of sNNsub> = 5.02 TeV. The data were recorded by the CMs experiment at the LHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 0.607 nb−1sup>. A hierarchy is ob.e.ved between the coefficients, with v2sub>b > v2sub>b ≳ v2sub>b ≳ v2sub>b.e. ≳ v2sub>b. based on these results, centrality-dependent moments for the fluctuation-driven event-by-event v2sub> distribution are determined, including the skewness, kurtosis and, for the first time, superskewness. Assuming a hydrodynamic expansion of the produced medium, these moments directly probe the initial-state geometry in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions. © The Author(s) 2024.

The origin of high-energy cosmic rays, atomic nuclei that continuously impact earth's atmosphere, is unknown. because of deflection by interstellar magnetic fields, cosmic rays produced within the Milky Way arrive at earth from random directions. However, cosmic rays interact with matter near their sources and during propagation, which produces high-energy neutrinos. We searched for neutrino emission using machine learning techniques applied to 10 years of data from the IceCube Neutrino Ob.e.vatory. by comparing diffuse emission models to a background-only hypothesis, we identified neutrino emission from the Galactic plane at the 4.5s level of significance. The signal is consistent with diffuse emission of neutrinos from the Milky Way but could also arise from a population of unresolved point sources.

Nowadays, articular disorders and musculoskeletal diseases are one of the major health issues and attack usually the older generations. The human knee joint is commonly infected by osteoarthritis (OA) disease. OA can affect the joints of the spine, fingers, thumbs, hips, knees, and toes, but it is most prevalent in the knee and hip joints. Here we are concentrating only on Knee joints. Knee Osteoarthritis is a serious, excruciating & potentially life-threatening joint disease, may lead to permanent disability. It can be detected by measuring changes in knee internal tissues such as cartilage, meniscus and subchondral Cartilage. For detecting knee osteoarthritis, Magnetic Resonance Imaging is performed to obtain a detailed picture of knee joint and change are measured from MR images. MRI is a test that uses powerful magnets, radio waves, and a make to comprehensive pictures inside our body. The main ob.e.tive is to develop a fully automated non-contrast MRI application for detection and segmentation of knee bones. The proposed approach is based on Convolution Neural Network to achieve a robust and perfect segmentation of even highly pathological knee structures.

A wide variety of Galactic sources show transient emission at soft and hard X-ray energies: low- and high-mass X-ray binaries containing compact ob.e.ts, isolated neutron stars exhibiting extreme variability as magnetars as well as pulsar-wind nebulae. Although most of them can show emission up to MeV and/or GeV energies, many have not yet b.e. detected in the TeV domain by Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes. In this paper, we explore the feasibility of detecting new Galactic transients with the Cherenkov Telescope Array Ob.e.vatory (CTAO) and the prospects for studying them with Target of Opportunity ob.e.vations. We show that CTAO will likely detect new sources in the TeV regime, such as the massive microquasars in the Cygnus region, low-mass X-ray binaries with low-viewing angle, flaring emission from the Crab pulsar-wind nebula or other novae explosions, among others. since some of these sources could also exhibit emission at larger time-scales, we additionally test their detectability at longer exposures. We finally discuss the multiwavelength synergies with other instruments and large astronomical facilities.

bACKGROUND: Dysfunctional reward processing is implicated in multiple mental disorders. Novelty seeking (Ns) assesses preference for seeking novel experiences, which is linked to sensitivity to reward environmental cues. MeTHODs: A sub.e. of 14-year-old adolescents (IMAGeN) with the top 20% ranked high-Ns scores was used to identify high-Ns-associated multimodal components by supervised fusion. These features were then used to longitudinally predict five different risk scales for the same and unseen sub.e.ts (an independent dataset of sub.e.ts at 19 years of age that was not used in predictive modeling training at 14 years of age) (within IMAGeN, n z 1100) and even for the corresponding symptom scores of five types of patient cohorts (non-IMAGeN), including drinking (n = 313), smoking (n = 104), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (n = 320), major depressive disorder (n = 81), and schizophrenia (n = 147), as well as to classify different patient groups with diagnostic labels. ResULTs: Multimodal biomarkers, including the prefrontal cortex, striatum, amygdala, and hippocampus, associated with high Ns in 14-year-old adolescents were identified. The prediction models built on these features are ab.e.to longitudinally predict five different risk scales, including alcohol drinking, smoking, hyperactivity, depression, and psychosis for the same and unseen 19-year-old adolescents and even predict the corresponding symptom scores of five types of patient cohorts. Furthermore, the identified reward-related multimodal features can classify among attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, major depressive disorder, and schizophrenia with an accuracy of 87.2%. CONCLUsIONs: Adolescents with higher Ns scores can be used to reveal brain alterations in the reward-related system, implicating potential higher risk for sub.e.uent development of multiple disorders. Minerals are solid state nuclear track detectors – nuclear recoils in a mineral leave latent damage to the crystal structure. Depending on the mineral and its temperature, the damage features are retained in the material from minutes (in low-melting point materials such as salts at a few hundred ◦C) to timescales much larger than the 4.5 Gyr-age of the solar system (in refractory materials at room temperature). The damage features from the O(50) MeV fission fragments left by spontaneous fission of 238U and other heavy unstab.e.isotopes have long b.e. used for fission track dating of geological samples. Laboratory studies have demonstrated the readout of defects caused by nuclear recoils with energies as small as O(1) keV. This whitepaper discusses a wide range of possib.e.applications of minerals as detectors for eR O(1) keV nuclear recoils: Using natural minerals, one could use the damage features accumulated over O(10) Myr–O(1) Gyr to measure astrophysical neutrino fluxes (from the sun, supernovae, or cosmic rays interacting with the atmosphere) as well as search for Dark Matter. Using signals accumulated over months to few-years timescales in laboratory-manufactured minerals, one could measure reactor neutrinos or use them as Dark Matter detectors, potentially with directional sensitivity. Research groups in europe, Asia, and America have started developing microscopy techniques to read out the O(1)–O(100) nm damage features in crystals left by O(0.1)–O(100) keV nuclear recoils. We report on the status and plans of these programs. The research program towards the realization of such detectors is highly interdisciplinary, combining geoscience, material science, applied and fundamental physics with techniques from quantum information and Artificial Intelligence. Measurements of the inclusive and differential fiducial cross sections for the Higgs boson production in the H → ZZ → 4ℓ (ℓ = e, μ) decay channel are presented. The results are obtained from the analysis of proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMs experiment at the CeRN LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb−1sup>. The measured inclusive fiducial cross section is 2.73 ± 0.26 fb, in agreement with the standard model expectation of 2.86 ± 0.1 fb. Differential cross sections are measured as a function of several kinematic ob.e.vab.e. sensitive to the Higgs boson production and decay to four leptons. A set of doub.e.differential measurements is also performed, yielding a comprehensive characterization of the four leptons final state. Constraints on the Higgs boson trilinear coupling and on the bottom and charm quark coupling modifiers are derived from its transverse momentum distribution. All results are consistent with theoretical predictions from the standard model. © The Author(s) 2023.
