A wide variety of disciplines contribute to bioinformatics research, including computer science, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. This study determines the number of research articles published on arXiv classified as bioinformatics topics and the most frequently used bioinformatics terms using topic modeling, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). An algorithm based on LDA is used to discover topics hidden within large collections of documents through the use of statistical analysis. Our research examined 226453 articles on arXiv between January 2023 and January 2024. As a result, there are more than 10521 articles categorized into bioinformatics topics. Most commonly, 6352 documents are in the "Mathematical Physics" category. The second most popular category is "computer science," with 2950 documents. Accordingly, the terms 'RNA,' 'sequence,' 'tree,' and 'homology' are the three most commonly used terms in bioinformatics. The study of RNA plays a vital role in molecular biology;thus, the study of RNA is prevalent in bioinformatics. Sequential data refer to the order in which nucleotides or amino acids can be found in a DNA molecule or a protein. © 2024 The Authors.

Efficiency of Multi-Language Data Serialization for Hybrid Cloud-Edge HRIS

In hybrid cloud-edge systems, data processing is distributed between cloud servers and edge servers, this makes data serialization critical for efficient data transfer between servers. This study evaluates the efficiency of multi-language data serialization of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in a hybrid cloud-edge environment. Because lack of existing studies that specifically evaluate multi-language data serialization for hybrid cloud-edge HRIS, this study conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to get the list of current state of the art of data serialization methods and then used this result to evaluate the methods. By focusing on HRIS employee data from the employee management module, this study measures both data serialization and deserialization using performance metrics of time, data size, and CPU usage. The results indicate that no methods excel in all metrics, but FlatBuffers, Protocol Buffer, and Apache Avro can provide balanced effectivity across the metrics. The study gives valuable insight for selecting data serialization methods, architecture, and systems requirements in hybrid cloud-edge HRIS to ensure the performance efficiency of the system.

Smart villages that utilize digital technology are a solution to assist rural community services in meeting their needs, especially for developing countries. However, financial problems, namely the high cost of infrastructure, the size of the informal economy and governance are challenges in limiting the government's aspirations regarding the smart village concept. The presentation of this article examines the state of smart village development in developing countries, which includes conceptual understanding, motivations, drivers and barriers to smart villages. The purpose of this study is to find answers to research questions by reviewing several selected study articles. The method used was to search for selected studies and there were 60 selected studies identified from a search of five literature databases which initially contained 3394 articles. The results of the data were analyzed using synthetic analysis and thematic analysis. The results of this study found data related to Concept, Technology, Barriers To Smart Village which came from several articles by answering questions from the research, namely RQ1: How many articles from the 10 most populous countries discussed Smart Village, RQ2: What are the basic dimensions of Smart Village, RQ3: What new technologies are discussed in Smart Village digitization, RQ4: What are the Challenges in Smart Village. The results of this SLR can also later be used as a reference for further researchers to find out the background of research related to smart villages. Malaria is a severe disease caused by parasites of the genus Plasmodium, which are transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito. Symptoms of malaria begin to appear at least within 10 to 15 days. If malaria is not treated immediately, it is feared that it will cause respiratory problems, shortness of breath, and death. To avoid the occurrence of these events, the idea arose to create an AI (Artificial Intelligence) project that can recognize the presence of malaria parasites in blood cells. Thus, the main objective of this project is to find out how to create a Machine Learning model that can efficiently identify malaria parasites in the human body. The AI project uses CNN (Convolutional Neural network) as an algorithm to recognize the presence or absence of parasites in blood cell images that will be inputted by the user. Process of implementing CNN, using VGG19 which is an advanced CNN that has pre-trained layers and a good understanding of describing an image, both the shape, color, and structure of the image. After implementing the Transfer Learning algorithm on the dataset, the result is a Transfer Learning algorithm that can detect the presence of Malaria parasites in blood cells with an accuracy rate of 92 percent a specificity of 95 percent, and a sensitivity of 89 percent. The accuracy can still increase depending on the diversity of the data provided. The more often we train and input test data as train data, the accuracy of AI will also increase. © 2023 IEEE.

As social beings, humans like to interact with each other, including other creatures of God, such as animals, and keep them as pets. Many pets, such as dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits, and so on, include unusual pets such as reptiles, pigs, insects, etc. As a result of the lack of human awareness of pets and the nature of keeping animals, which is only for fun, it is not soulful to keep animals. So when people are bored, they abandon their pets, which causes new problems in human life today. In this case, we created a mobile application that can be shared with pet lovers where they can share information about abandoned pets and the possibility of owning pets from these abandoned pets. Mobile applications were designed using use case diagrams to show business processes, class diagrams to show database models, and user interfaces to present a similar interface to users. This mobile application will become a platform that can gather all people who care about pets and make pets a part of humans. © 2024 IEEE.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, broadband internet utilization is predicted to continue to grow and experience a significant increase. The pandemic has changed how people work, study, communicate, shop, and carry out many aspects of daily life. Research reported that since 2018, research on broadband internet has continued to increase until now. This quantitative study examines the impact of the four critical variables on the link between attitude, availability, pricing, and quality of service (QoS) on broadband internet customer satisfaction using the Structural Equation Model approach and the Partial Lease Square technique. Three hundred and sixty-one citizen respondents in DKI Jakarta Province were collected using the snowball sampling method facilitated by Google Forms. At the same time, the COVID-19 post-pandemic was still ongoing in Indonesia. Through rigorous statistical analysis, the results show that customer satisfaction with broadband internet services is influenced by all factors, from attitude towards broadband Internet, broadband Internet availability, broadband Internet price, and service quality. The implications of this research are significant for service providers. They provide actionable insights for developing effective strategies to improve customer satisfaction and increase broadband internet subscriptions. © 2023 IEEE.

As one of the cancer types with the highest incidence rates, colorectal cancer (CRC) would benefit from treatments with fewer side effects and reduced treatment-resistant potential. One of the options is to harness the anti-CRC potential of natural products. Previous studies have shown that Calamus draco exudate, dragon's blood, has anticancer activity in liver cancer and acute myeloid leukemia, but its bioactivity has not been studied in CRC. Here we conduct a bioinformatics study based on network pharmacology to explore the anti-CRC potential and mechanism of C. draco-derived compounds. The bioinformatics pipeline is composed of compound and target collection, biological network evaluation, and enrichment analysis. We found that there are 43 bioactive compounds from C. draco targeting 91 CRC-related targets, of which most compounds target MEN1, PTGS2, and IDH1. Further analyses show that the targets of C. draco are involved in the cellular response to hypoxia. By inhibiting those targets, C. draco bioactive compounds can potentially hinder angiogenesis and increase treatment response efficacy. © 2024 The Authors.

The increasing complexity of cyber attacks, including 0-day vulnerabilities and APTs, has rendered traditional defenses like firewalls and IDS/IPS insufficient. Honeypots have been proposed as a solution to detect and analyze new attack types by simulating vulnerable systems and capturing malicious activities. However, the deployment of honeypots introduces unique risks, necessitating a comprehensive threat modeling approach to mitigate potential drawbacks. This paper explores the intersection of threat modeling and honeypot deployment, identifying threats, and proposing effective mitigation strategies. We applied a threat model adapted from a simplified PASTA framework based on risk-centric and proposed mitigation plans such as network segmentation, outbound traffic filtering, resource monitoring, and regular updates. Additionally, we discussed alternative honeypot deployments outside the organization's internal network to avoid arising risks. We found that deploying high-interaction honeypots carries high risks due to a broader attack flow. The novelty of this study lies in adapting the attack-flow approach for honeypot threat modeling, providing a structured method to analyze and mitigate honeypot-specific threats. Future research directions include conducting long-term studies and detailed case studies to further optimize the interaction between honeypot deployments and threat modeling for enhanced security outcomes. © 2024 IEEE.

Stemming is the process of cutting affixes, both prefixes and suffixes from a term to get the root of the word that has affixes. Stemming can be done in any language, especially in Indonesia Language. Indonesian which is rooted in Malay and Sanskrit has a bigger influence on Language. The algorithm of stemming that has developed is the one that is based on the dictionary of a root word. This kind of algorithm was started by Nazief- Adriani and it grew up to be Confix Stripping (CS), and then was perfected to be Enhanced Confix Stripping (ECS). A scientometric analysis is a mathematical method used to identify academic publications related to citations and scientific matters and is intended for use in libraries or other fields. In this research, the publication of which using stemming algorithm selected and collected using keywords related to Nazief Adriani and ECS. The publications are collected from *** (an online database for advance scientific research). From those publication we did the analysis bibliometric help by the VOS Viewer application using the analysis technique of co-authorship and citation technique, and all done. The result are, from 310 publications that have keywords Nazief Adriani and 119 publications containing the keyword ECS, it was found that the owning documents will be the reference sources of the next research in which the most citation and co-authorship are found in Indonesia. © 2022 IEEE.
