Making socio-economic decisions is critical as they profoundly impact communities. It is imperative to approach these decisions with academic rigour and objectivity to effectively address prevalent community-wide issues. One such challenge often encountered by communities is socio-economic inequality. This study attempts to tackle this challenge by creating a decision model to assess socio-economic inequality in a region. The research was performed via four crucial stages, leading to the creation of a fuzzy decision model based on the Williamson Index (WI) method. This carefully developed model was designed and constructed using an object-oriented approach. The simulation results indicated that the integrated inequality index value for Sawah, an urban village in Ciputat, Indonesia, is 0.65. This em-pirical result provides valuable insights, enabling policymakers and stakeholders (as decision-makers) to design targeted policies and programs to reduce inequality and enhance community prosperity.

Shipbuilder safety and performance, structural integrity of welded joints in shipbuilding is of utmost importance. Traditional manual inspection methods to detect any potential defect can be time consuming and susceptible to human errors; alternative inspection systems have proven more cost effective and accurate solutions than manual approaches for defect identification. This paper investigates how advanced software quality assessment standards and machine learning techniques such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and You Only Look Once (YOLO) object identification framework can enhance weld defect detection. Research undertaken for this thesis addresses three core questions. 1) Which standards provide effective software quality assessments used for weld defect detection systems?; and 2) In what ways will they impact efficiency and reliability. How will implementation of these standards increase accuracy in manufacturing processes? Integrating high-quality annotated datasets, optimizing joint preparation and parameter settings, and using cloud solutions for computing needs can enable industries to achieve more reliable, efficient, and scalable defect detection. This proactive approach not only enhances immediate product quality, but also contributes to long-term durability and performance, decreasing maintenance costs and increasing overall reliability for steel plates used for marine applications. Furthermore, evidence has revealed that adopting software quality assessment standards in weld defect detection significantly enhances structural integrity as well as operational efficiency of shipbuilding operations.

Cardiovascular disease is one of the dangerous non-communicable disorders or diseases that has become one of the causes of death worldwide. Various studies have been conducted to prevent cardiovascular disease in the world. This study analyzed cardiovascular disease medical record data from the Kaggle public dataset by implementing correlational analysis combined with association rule mining to identify variables that are the predominant cause of cardiovascular disease. Correlational analysis can analyze the interrelationships between variables in a dataset, but not in depth. Association rule mining can identify the interrelationships of variables in the form of frequent item sets, which can be calculated for their support and confidence values. The result of this study is a combination of correlation analysis with association rule mining that can identify predominant variables to cause cardiovascular disease. In the era of advancing technology, deep learning, particularly within the realm of computer vision, has emerged as a critical tool for enhancing human safety. This research focuses on developing a drowsiness detection system for car drivers using the YOLOv5 algorithm, aimed at mitigating the risks associated with microsleep, a temporary loss of attention that poses a significant threat on the roads. The prevalence of traffic accidents attributed to drowsy driving is alarming, with statistics indicating that over 9.5% of accidents in Indonesia during late 2019 were linked to drowsiness. To address this pressing issue, our study employs the YOLOv5 model to classify driver states into ‘Drowsy’ and ‘Awake’ categories, enhanced by the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) augmentation technique, which optimizes performance in low-light conditions. The drowsiness detection system is designed as a user-friendly application that provides real-time alerts to drivers upon detecting signs of drowsiness. The implementation process includes data collection, preprocessing, and model training, leading to the evaluation of the system’s accuracy. Evaluation results demonstrate a detection accuracy of 94%, with precision and recall both reaching 93%. These findings underscore the efficacy of integrating YOLO and CLAHE in developing a reliable drowsiness detection system, contributing to road safety by reducing the risk of accidents related to driver fatigue.

Automation testing is essential to carry out functional testing quickly and precisely. Software testing is beneficial for testers doing many testing processes according to the existing scenarios. So, there is an urgency to explore a more advanced solution to replace the traditional approach. Silk Test Workbench is a tool for automation testing that can accelerate the functional testing of complex applications. For this research, we proposed automation testing on website applications with various testing scenarios that have been made. The visual test recording method is used for automation testing with Silk Test Workbench. Silk Test Workbench can speed up testing time, make a good test asset testing scenario, make it easier for users to do testing, and speed up the process to get the result in the form of a screen capture of the testing process. A comparison of testing time has been performed. The automatic testing time with the scenarios is 2 hours 46 minutes. The automatic testing time will be 2 hours 36 minutes using the all-in-one scenario. This study also used questionnaires from colleagues in the Quality Assurance field to get maximum User Acceptance Test results.

The university admission process can be overwhelming for applicants and admission officers, with many questions being asked and answered every year. The manual classification of these questions can be time-consuming and may lead to errors, making exploring automated solutions to this problem essential. In recent years, advances in natural language processing (NLP), including question classification. The research proposes an architecture for a question classification system using the Indonesian Language in closed-domain question answering. The purpose of this research is to find out the classification of questions. We created a system with the Named-Entity Recognition method to recognize the next word that will be used as a candidate type of question and candidate answer. The type of question used is a factoid question. Research makes patterns and rules for extracting important words as features to determine the taxonomy of question classification. Datasets are collected from one private university in Indonesia. Data sources from binus Online Learning websites and data on questions frequently asked by users, especially prospective students. The results of the question classification are presented using descriptive statistics. The results show that the question classification with users' most frequent question type is 'What' by 63.3%, and the answer category is 'tuition fees' by 22.4%. It can be concluded that the most frequent question type asked by users is 'What', and the most frequent topic of interest is 'tuition fees'. Organizations can use this information to improve customer service by providing more relevant information and resources about tuition fees. © 2023 IEEE.

Social media has evolved into a vast and multifaceted data repository, presenting valuable opportunities to investigate gender-based variations in writing styles. This study aims to enhance the precision of gender classification on Twitter text by leveraging a combined word embedding approach. The paper proposes a framework that utilizes two distinct word embedding models - a combination of GloVe and BERT, as well as GloVe and Word2Vec - to capture both global and contextual linguistic nuances within the text. The dataset comprises a comprehensive collection of tweets and user profile descriptions harvested from Twitter, which underwent meticulous preprocessing and word representation steps before being further processed using the robust Random Forest algorithm. The experimental findings indicate that the combination of GloVe and BERT outperforms the other combination of GloVe and Word2Vec, and also surpasses the performance of single embedding models, with 62.93% accuracy being the highest achieved result. This study provides valuable insights into the potential of combined word embedding techniques for enhancing the accuracy of gender classification in social media text analysis.

Depression affects a significant number of people, and it has a significant impact not only on their lives but also on society as a whole. In light of this, we require more advanced methods that are capable of locating individuals who are depressed in a timely and accurate manner. This research investigates the effectiveness of Long Short-Term Mem- ory (LSTM) networks used in conjunction with DistilBERT, a small transformer-based model, in identifying indications of melancholy in posts made on social networking platforms. The text was cleaned up using a dataset that was obtained from Reddit, and then we used the mixed DistilBERT+LSTM model to evaluate how well it performed in comparison to the DistilBERT model by itself. The findings that we obtained indicate that both approaches produce results that are comparable but not flawless, with only slight variations in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 scores. The fact that this is the case demonstrates that there are issues with optimizing the model and displaying the data. © 2024 IEEE.

There are many alternative fuel types that can be used by a particular type of engine. Determining which fuel alternative is optimal for an engine presents its own challenges. This is especially true in an industrial setting, where certain standards are necessary to select the best fuel alternative to be used and operated. This study aims to develop a decision model for selecting a fuel type for boiler engines based on specific parameters or criteria. The decision model is designed using an object-oriented approach, utilizing three types of diagrams: object, activity, and sequence. An object-oriented model design approach allows for the decision model to be depicted transparently and very close to reality. Additionally, the analytical hierarchical process (AHP) and fuzzy logic are the core methods employed in constructing the decision model. Then, in developing this decision model, four main criteria or parameters are considered: cost, heating value, safety, and emissions. These four parameters were derived from a literature review and interviews with experts. Among the three evaluated fuel types (i.e., natural gas, industrial diesel oil or IDO, and coal), coal received the highest decision score of 0.78. Thus, based on this decision value―the outcome of the model's recommendation―it can be concluded that coal remains an objective choice as a fuel for use in boiler engines.

This study investigates emotion detection on tweets written in the Indonesian language, using the IndoBERT model that has been trained for 50 epochs. The examination conducted in this study provides a comprehensive analysis of the performance dynamics shown by the model. The assessment results provide an accuracy score of 0.74, indicating the model's proficiency in identifying sentiments within the collection of tweets. By using assessment criteria such as accuracy, recall, and the F1-score, the model's comprehensive analytical ability is validated, emphasizing its effectiveness in deciphering various emotional circumstances. The accuracy, recall, and F1-score of the model, with average values of 0.79, 0.78, and 0.78 respectively, combined demonstrate its resilience in accurately capturing subtle emotional subtleties. This study enhances our comprehension of language model applications in the field of emotional intelligence by exploring the complexities of sentiment analysis. It emphasizes the practical value of these applications in real-world scenarios.
