Bharat is a cultivation-based country that cultivates various crops, including rice, in colossal capacity. Rice is one of the daily used crops across the country and other parts of the globe. Rice is cultivated in almost every state in Bharat. However, rice plant diseases severely degrade the quality and quantity of the crop. Rice plants can be affected by different conditions, e.g., foot rot, sheath blight, etc., causing a loss in the farming output. Various steps, including academic research, are practiced to detect rice diseases in their early stage to minimize the loss and increase the productivity of the agriculture sector. The schemes involve traditional and technology-based innovative solutions like agricultural cyber-physical systems (ACPS) or precision agriculture. This paper provides a state-of-the-art on rice crop cultivation, its disease classifications, etc. The paper depicts the importance of rice in daily life and how it plays a vital role in health. Later, this paper provides statistics on rice production in Bharat, followed by the export of rice to different countries. Subsequently, we offer a detailed analysis of rice cultivation, various diseases that can occur in rice plants and other prevention mechanisms for these diseases in the early stages of their life cycle. Finally, recent developments in precision agriculture are provided. © 2023 IEEE.

The recent emergence of SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19, poses a significant health threat and has rapidly spread to 223 countries, affecting more than 755 million people. Globally, more than seven billion COVID-19 tests have been performed. Rapid antigen kits have emerged as valuable detection techniques in the global fight against COVID-19, providing quick and accessible testing capabilities. However, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of these kits is crucial for effective disease management. This paper presents the emergence of different COVID-19 biomarker techniques to detect these viruses. Next, explore the role of the formal verification technique, addressing the trustworthiness of rapid antigen kits. Furthermore, the paper explores the diverse quick antigen kits approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) available in the literature. Formal verification provides substantial implications in the context of rapid antigen kit verification, and it is increasingly becoming a prominent trend in medical diagnostics. © 2023 IEEE.

The rapid advancement of technology in recent years has brought about numerous changes in various industries, and the financial sector is no exception. The rise of financial technology (FinTech) has disrupted traditional banking and financial services by offering more convenient, accessible, and personalized services to customers. Contrarily, financial services have become more efficient, cost-effective, and secure with FinTech, enabling people to manage their finances with just a few clicks, even on their smartphones. FinTech has also created new opportunities for financial inclusion, making it possible for people who were previously unbanked or underbanked to access financial services. Despite its many benefits, the rise of FinTech has also brought about several challenges. This paper gives an overview of FinTech, its progress, and its importance. Following this, significant challenges of FinTech are highlighted to ensure its long-term success and continued growth. Quantum Computing is a fastly growing area with many applications, including quantum machine learning (QML). Due to the rapid increase of computational power, machine learning models based on artificial neural networks (ANN) have become highly effective. Even though classical machine learning models have been performing well, quantum computing with machine learning enhances the performance in multiple ways. This paper studies different aspects of quantum machine learning. It introduces quantum computing over classical computation, followed by the recent tools and techniques developed in the area. We look at multiple QML models like quantum kernel, quantum support vector machine (QSVM), etc. Finally, we present the literature survey to encourage researchers and academicians. © 2023 IEEE.

Stress has become a prevalent issue in modern society, with various negative impacts on mental and physical health. Stress in people is a physiological and psychological reaction to an imagined threat or difficulty. Several things, including employment, relationships, income, health problems, and significant life transitions, can cause stress. Depending on the person and the circumstance, stress symptoms can vary. They frequently include emotions of worry, irritation, and restlessness, as well as physical symptoms like headaches and muscle strain. Early stress detection is crucial for effective intervention and prevention of stress-related health issues. Detecting stress in real-time can be valuable in various domains such as healthcare, mental health, human-computer interaction, and workplace performance. This paper proposes a method for detecting stress using deep learning. A set of pre-trained models are employed for stress detection. The proposed technique is evaluated with publicly available datasets. Experimented results showed that the proposed stress detection method achieves accuracy in the range of 85.71-97.50% and the loss ranging from 0.4061 to 1.8144. © 2023 IEEE.

Several genetic disorders and other metabolic abnormalities work together to generate the lethal disease known as cancer. Today’s most contributing factors to mortality and disability in patients are lung and colon cancer. A World Health Organization (WHO) 2020 report listed cancer as one of the leading causes of mortality globally. About 2.735 million of these fatalities were caused by lung and colon cancer combined. A critical component of the patient’s treatment is the diagnosis of lung cancer by histopathology. Therefore, one of the leading research priorities, mostly in the domain of biomedical health information systems, is the identification and categorization of lung and colon cancer. The present article encompasses the Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and transfer learning-based approaches to classify lung as well as colon cancer. LBP has been used for extracting features, and transfer learning has been used for the classification of lung and colon cancer. Histopathological (LC25000) lung and colon datasets are used to validate the proposed methodology. The results of the proposed method have also been compared with different existing methods and reported in the article. Our proposed method has an average accuracy of 99.00% and a F1 score of 99.2%, whereas precision and recall have 99.4% for lung and colon cancer detection. The results of the investigation demonstrate that our suggested technique greatly outperforms current models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

As more and more contemporary items are linked to the internet, the Internet of Things (IoT) has grown widely. The development of the IoT has been facilitated by the confluence of numerous technologies, including ubiquitous computing, affordable sensors, embedded systems, and machine learning. This study examines how the IoT has developed from the first IoT products and applications to the present. The fundamentals of IoT architecture and its properties are explained first, then IoT connectivity and related technologies are discussed. The various energy sources needed by IoT systems are then enumerated. Finally, we examine a variety of IoT applications, difficulties, and potential future research approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected our lives in many ways. Many people faced different challenges during the pandemic to accomplish their daily activities. Many people faced various challenges during the pandemic might have been very stressful, overwhelming, and disgusting. Therefore, it is common to feel stress, irritation, mood swings, and anxiety during the pandemic. Different methodologies by medical practitioners are being taken. Additionally, researchers from academia are also trying to strengthen the methods. Unfortunately, the way for automatic, continuous, and invisible stress detection by the researchers are insufficient and not studied in depth. It becomes essential in the post-pandemic scenario due to COVID-19 disease. This paper studies the impact of stress on people during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study includes origin, classification, impact on health, prevention solutions, etc. Further statistics on the affected people by the stress during the period are provided. © 2023 IEEE.

A hybrid memory architecture supporting fine-grained data migration

Hybrid memory systems composed of dynamic random access memory(DRAM)and Non-volatile memory(NVM)often exploit page migration technologies to fully take the advantages of different memory *** previous proposals usually migrate data at a granularity of 4 KB pages,and thus waste memory bandwidth and DRAM *** this paper,we propose Mocha,a non-hierarchical architecture that organizes DRAM and NVM in a flat address space physically,but manages them in a cache/memory *** the commercial NVM device-Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory Modules(DCPMM)actually access the physical media at a granularity of 256 bytes(an Optane block),we manage the DRAM cache at the 256-byte size to adapt to this feature of *** design not only enables fine-grained data migration and management for the DRAM cache,but also avoids write amplification for Intel Optane *** also create an Indirect Address Cache(IAC)in Hybrid Memory Controller(HMC)and propose a reverse address mapping table in the DRAM to speed up address translation and cache ***,we exploit a utility-based caching mechanism to filter cold blocks in the NVM,and further improve the efficiency of the DRAM *** implement Mocha in an architectural *** results show that Mocha can improve application performance by 8.2%on average(up to 24.6%),reduce 6.9%energy consumption and 25.9%data migration traffic on average,compared with a typical hybrid memory architecture-HSCC.
