Understanding motorcycle rider behavior and the related traffic contexts in Indonesia using naturalistic driving study

Motorcycle crash fatalities remain a significant concern in Indonesia. Understanding the traffic events leading to such crashes is crucial for designing effective mitigation strategies. This preliminary study aimed to identify and analyze safety-critical events (SCEs) experienced by motorcycle riders. Using a naturalistic approach, 79 participants from six cities were observed while riding their motorcycles during daily routines, covering a total of 1036 km. A camera mounted on the rear-view mirror captured their riding behavior and traffic situations. Trained analysts conducted interviews with participants and reviewed video footage to identify and quantify SCEs. The study found no significant differences in the number of SCEs across cities but revealed notable differences in their causes. While rider behavior was a key factor, a substantial proportion of SCEs were attributed to the actions of other road users, such as near crashes caused by overtaking between opposing traffic. These findings highlight the need for comprehensive mitigation strategies, including rider education, improved road design, and better traffic signage. © 2025 The Authors

The proposed integrated homodyne receiver chip design, intended for use in dual band radio frequency receiver front-end, has been implemented in a standard tsmc 0.18um CMOS technological processing. The RF receiver front-end design consists of low noise amplifier, low power mixer and bandpass Gm-C loop filter. A novel approach with low power mixer instead of an excellence Gm-C bandpass loop filter circuit used in low noise amplifier can promote optimized conversion gain. input P1dB, and noise figure (NF) The proposed dual band antenna applying for dual band applications is presented in this article design. Experimental results of the RF integrated homodyne receiver exhibit enhance performance with dual band antenna. © 2021 IEEE.

The objective of this study was to improve the power noise and eye diagram signal on printed circuits board design. The method was to analyze the transmission signal and improve signal integrity by impedance matching. The power integrity introduces measured power initialization sequence, rails, and timing. The eye diagram of signal improvement from the experimental result was compared for jitter, clock, and voltage noise. The result shows the improvement of the signal transmission on printed circuits board design to achieve optimal signal integrity. © 2021 IEEE.

The article presents phase-locked loop consists of frequency synthesizers and multi-bands low-pass continuous-time Σ-Δ modulators. The promoted sigma-delta (Σ-Δ) modulators with cascaded integrator and frequency synthesizers are presented for phase locked loop controller. The promoted integration of phase-locked loop was implemented in tsmc 0.18 μm CMOS process. Experimental has achieved the SNDR of 42/33 dB over half MHz, phase noise of voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) produces-120.08 dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset, and phase noise of PLL produces-113.2 dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset, respectively. This dual-bands phase-locked loop (PLL) are carefully integrated for low dissipation sensor control applications. © 2021 IEEE.

This article presents a low-power and layout dimension efficient LC-VCO (voltage-controlled oscillators) and double balanced mixer are designed and implemented in tsmc 0.18mumathrm{m} COMS 1P6M process for microwave communications applications. The proposed VCO circuit applies PMOS cross-coupled pairs LC circuits. From the sourcing voltage of 0.9 V, the overall VCO total power dissipation of 1.54 mW, and tuning range is 532 MHz from 9.25 to 9.78 GHz. The double balanced mixer proposed converter gain of 8 dB, noise figure of 15.6 dB, IIP3 of -4.6 dBm, input P1dB of -1 6dBm. The tuning voltage is from 0 to 0.9V, and chipset core placement with layout optimization is 0.24mm2. © 2021 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

The proposed radio frequency receiver front-end applying for ultra-wideband applications is presented in article design from tsmc 0.18um CMOS 1P6M processing for ultrawideband applications. The low power RF receiver front-end design consists of distributed low noise amplifier with wake-up receiver, double balance mixer with broadband balun, Colpitts quadrature voltage-controlled oscillator and bandpass Gm-C loop filter. A novel approach with Gm-Cbandpass loop filter instead of a conventional passive loop filter used in distributed low noise amplifier with wake-up receiver can promote excellence gain and low power consumption. An integrated, low-phase noise Colpitts quadrature voltage-controlled oscillator (QVCO) and double balance mixer and balun are presented. Experimental results of the integrated circuit exhibit optimized performance with ultrawideband antenna. © 2021 IEEE.

This article introduces a 20-bit pipelined analog to digital converter and low noise amplifier with a wake-up receiver from an RF detector in a double-sided stacked-up integrated circuit as a neural recording device. The proposed design is to obtain stable built-in action and local field potential. The optimized phase margin of ideal degrees is made sure as compared with original solutions. This article introduces a solution for early diagnoses by establishing a neural recording architecture to measure electroencephalography (EEG) signal along with a deep neural network (DNN) that classify the suspected patients. © 2021 ECBIOS 2021. The eye tracking obtains the position data of both eyes;the fuzzy intent decision maker chooses the desired action for embedded vehicle. The action operation instructions are sent to edge computing to control the appliance and algorithm. The proposed article adopts eye aspect ratio and facial landmark detection with built-in pop count of XNOR-net to judgment driver monitoring system (DMS) on APEX2 and ARM NEON for NXP S32V234 platform. Verification of facial landmark detection and human behavior based on the human face image feature by camera is studied. Implementation network of the computing time upgrade to 59 ms from original 1624 ms under the accuracy loss is smaller than 3%. The overall algorithm has been improved to 16 fps from 0.5 fps. © 2021 IEEE.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the quadrotor type are widely used in both civilian and military applications due to their superior maneuverability, lower manufacturing costs, and the absence of crew risk. This has led to an increased demand for control and navigation systems that enable autonomous operation, allowing quadrotors to follow desired flight paths and avoid obstacles. In this study, an obstacle detection and avoidance system for an autonomous quadrotor was designed and implemented. The obstacle detection system can detect obstacles up to 7 meters away with a mean average precision (mAP) of 89.63%. The position estimation system can estimate obstacle positions up to 6 meters on the y-axis and 1.2 meters on the x-axis, with average errors of 0.146 meters and 0.019 meters, respectively. The flight route planning system uses the A∗ algorithm to calculate the shortest path to the target while avoiding obstacles. Based on test results, the quadrotor successfully detects obstacles, estimates their positions, determines the optimal flight route, and follows it with a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.101 meters, demonstrating reliable autonomous operation. © 2024 IEEE.
