The accelerated increase in urbanization is generating reductions in green areas and phenomena such as the heat island;for this reason, greening solutions are sought in buildings with the use of the green wall, to mitigate the increase in surface temperature on the facades of single-family homes;the present study evaluates the behavior of surface temperature and relative humidity outside and inside in homes;and the surface temperature and relative humidity in a reinforced masonry green wall façade with concrete blocks using a hydroponic system with the species Nephrolepis exaltata. The results indicate that the exterior surface temperatures and interior relative humidity are higher on average by 5.5 °C and 3.6% than the interior surface temperatures and exterior humidity of the homes;instead, in the green wall prototype, the surface temperature decreases from 8.5 to 7 °C and the relative humidity increases from 5.1 to 6.8%. It is concluded that the green wall with hydroponic system with the species Nephrolepis exaltata reduces the surface temperature and increases the relative humidity outside the reinforced masonry homes with concrete blocks. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This research utilizes the rich SiO2 and Al2O3 sources in light-emitting diode waste quartz sand (LEDWQS) and granite sludge (GS) through alkali fusion and hydrothermal method as the precursor of synthetic mesoporous humidity control material (MHCM). The effect of adding amine functional groups on the amine functionalized mesoporous humidity control material (AF/MHCM) was also discussed. The results show that the crystalline phase and surface composition of MHCM are consistent with typical MCM-41 characteristics. The specific surface area of AF/MHCM was 29.91m2/g. The results confirm that the amine functional groups have been effectively modified on the pore surface, and the nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm of AF/MHCM has changed from type IV to type II. In addition, this study also proves that AF/MHCM has excellent humidity control performance, with a moisture adsorption–desorption performance of up to 63.36 g/m2, which is in line with the Japanese Industrial Standards for humidity control building materials (moisture adsorption–desorption performance > 29 g/m2). AF/MHCM synthesized by reused waste derived from the manufacturing process of electronic and electrical equipment as raw materials has excellent humidity control performance, and the result can be used as a smart indoor humidity control material in various construction applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V. 2024.

This preliminary paper presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to explore how consumer brand love of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Indonesia could be enhanced through branding strategies. MSMEs play important role in current Indonesia economic growth, but unfortunately, they focus on the trading and forget about the branding. It also examines previous research to observe what should be highligted about brand love, how to identify the variables of the consumer voices and if the latent consumer voices has been identified. To collect the literature data, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar were used as databases. There is a contradictive thing about the masstige brand and MSME's brands about brand love, brand loyalty and purchase intention. Some recommendations strategies could be determined such as good collaboration between the government and MSMEs, and how to gather the latent consumer voice. For further research could be suggested to include interview that would be converted to text document. © 2024 IEEE.

Expanding on an earlier study that assessed the performance of a Q-learning approach for solving the path planning problem for mobile robots, this research implemented the RL approach in a real-world setting employing the RoboMas-ter EP Core. The robotic system also included object detection and recognition through the robot's sensors and a pre-trained YOLOv9 model. The robot navigated to predefined target points while avoiding stationary obstacles. The Q-learning algorithm was trained using the Google Colaboratory platform. Experi-ments conducted at various speeds identified an optimal speed and high success rates in obstacle avoidance and target region accuracy were achieved. Additionally, the object detection sys-tem demonstrated strong performance in real-time applications. Despite these successes, challenges such as high friction and multitasking inefficiencies were identified. Future research should address these limitations by enhancing control systems and the robot's multitasking capabilities, as well as using a computer with better processing power to improve overall system performance further. © 2024 IEEE.

This empirical study presents a wave attenuation model for a stationary dry type of artificial box-shaped vegetated floating island based on dimensional analysis. The dimensionless coefficients for wave reflection, transmission and wave energy dissipation can be predicted by the multiplications of several non-dimensional terms containing parameters related to the matrix medium of vegetated floating island and wave characteristics, without vegetation drag coefficient and friction factor. The empirical model was validated with experimental cases and demonstrated good correlations. Moreover, the influence of the material properties of the matrix medium composition on wave attenuation is discussed based on the validated model. © 2024 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).

An Automatic Identification System (AIS) was installed on a barge. The AIS is active using solar panels with charge controller and battery to supply electric power at day time and night time. Such a novel actively AIS can offer the Speed over Ground (SOG), Course over Ground (COG), and position to tugboat for informing the Master and Officer about the sailing conditions of barge to maintain the towline tension stably and safety of navigation. The AIS also broadcasts the sailing status of barge to other ships in vicinity to maintain situational awareness of collision avoidance. Using this reliable theoretical calculation about the limit tension value of towing line with yawing motion can avoid the limit value of towline tension less than total maximum displacement of tugboat and barge. Those results contribute practical significance for improving the safety of towing operation and navigation at real time. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to The Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers (JASNAOE).

This paper presents the degenerate kernels for the polyharmonic and poly-Helmholtz partial differential operators in the polar and spherical coordinates. These degenerate kernels are essential if the analytical/semi-analytical solutions and the mathematical degeneracies involving these operators are conducted by the boundary integral equations. In addition, a two-dimensional creeping flow problem is considered to illustrate the use of the degenerate kernels for problems governed by coupled partial differential equations. The coupled governing equations of the creeping flow problems are converted into a biharmonic equation by using the Hörmander linear partial differential operator theory and the Cartesian partial derivatives on the harmonic and biharmonic degenerate kernels are used to obtain the degenerate kernels of two-dimensional creeping flow problems for BIE analyses. Finally, numerical experiments are conducted to study the convergence of the polyharmonic and poly-Helmholtz degenerate kernels. © 2022 Elsevier Ltd

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the quadrotor type are widely used in both civilian and military applications due to their superior maneuverability, lower manufacturing costs, and the absence of crew risk. This has led to an increased demand for control and navigation systems that enable autonomous operation, allowing quadrotors to follow desired flight paths and avoid obstacles. In this study, an obstacle detection and avoidance system for an autonomous quadrotor was designed and implemented. The obstacle detection system can detect obstacles up to 7 meters away with a mean average precision (mAP) of 89.63%. The position estimation system can estimate obstacle positions up to 6 meters on the y-axis and 1.2 meters on the x-axis, with average errors of 0.146 meters and 0.019 meters, respectively. The flight route planning system uses the A∗ algorithm to calculate the shortest path to the target while avoiding obstacles. Based on test results, the quadrotor successfully detects obstacles, estimates their positions, determines the optimal flight route, and follows it with a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.101 meters, demonstrating reliable autonomous operation. © 2024 IEEE.

The quality control process performs an acceptance sampling plan to determine if a batch of products meets quality specifications. Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) defines the acceptable level of defects, but determining the appropriate AQL rate is challenging due to manufacturing process variations. This study utilized Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) to determine the AQL for acceptance sampling plans and evaluate its performance against the current method using Operating Characteristic Curve. The study identified eighteen failure modes from PFMEA, with severity level 7, occurrence level 3, and detection level 3. The results demonstrated that PFMEA can serve as a valuable reference for modeling acceptance sampling plans. Acceptance sampling with AQL effectively assesses defective batches compared to the current method. Incorporating PFMEA in acceptance sampling plans enables companies to enhance their understanding of process performance and potential risks, empowering them to make informed decisions and improve product quality. © 2024 ACM.

This study examines value proposition enhancement and customer engagement techniques in the context of the integration of mobile applications in small scale start up coffee chains. Startups do not have the same resources and infrastructure for extensive technological integration, like well-established chains, thus operating in unique segment of the industry. The study investigates the transformative influence of mobile applications ordering platforms on customer interactions, and operational efficiency. Specifically, the value proposition, as most mobile applications offer similar promises all centered around convenience, encapsulated in the phrase "Use the App, Skip the Queue". Process Chain Analysis identified the difference of direct interaction for offline orders and the surrogate interactions of application orders, is the root of operational issues, causing frustration in the ordering process. This finding acts as the foundation for the multi-criteria decision tree to assist in selecting the appropriate solution, through calculated weighted score. The solutions selected through this method were kitchen display system, and QR tracking system both scoring 4.64 and 4.84 respectively. UML diagrams were used to provide visual representation for the concepts, to aid in comprehension of how the concept should be implemented and used in the store. The outcomes highlight how the solutions improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through transparency. The study is simply a concept, which has not been tested and all conclusions have been based on heuristic from previous implementation of similar solutions in restaurants and other food and beverage chains. © 2024 ACM.
