Simultaneous degradation of sulfadiazine and dissolved organic matter based on low-impact development facilities

Sulfadiazine(SD)is a common antibiotic administered to treat bacterial infections in livestock,and its fate andmigration are greatly affected by dissolved organicmatter(DOM).The soil infiltration system[a typical low-impact development(LID)facility]can significantly alterDOMproperties during runoff pollution,thus affecting the complexation of ***,the binding characteristics of different DOM components and SD in the soil infiltration system were explored using spectroscopic techniques(excitation–emission matrices,parallel factor analysis,and synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy).Combined with the weakening of DOM fluorescence intensity and 78.63%reduction in mean SD concentration following treatment,synchronous degradation may have *** binding sequence of SD and DOM fluorophores was further explored using two-dimensional correlation *** DOM showed greater sensitivity to SD and more binding sites than influent ***,hydrophobic protein-like substances exhibited higher log K_(M) values than other fluorescent components,indicating that protein-like components play significant roles in SD *** soil percolation system improved the complexation stability and binding sequence of fulvic-like ***,SD–DOM can be intercepted and degraded using LID facilities to reduce the risk of SD in aquatic environments.

Effect of Zr on phase separation,mechanical and corrosion behavior of heterogeneous CoCrFeNiZr_(x) high-etropy alloy

CoCrFeNi high entropy alloy(HEA)has attracted extensive attention due to its excellent corrosion resistance,but the low strength limits its engineering application *** order to develop CoCrFeNi based HEAs with high strength,ductility and corrosion resistance,the effects of Zr content on the microstructure,mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of heterogeneous CoCrFeNiZr_(x)(x=0,0.25,0.5 and 1)HEAs were investigated in this *** results indicate that the increase of Zr content can significantly affect the phase stability of the alloy,and promote the formation of intermetallic compounds(Ni_(7)Zr_(2)and/or Laves phase)and the transformation of solid solution from face-centered cubic(FCC)structure(x=0,0.25 and 0.5)to body-centered cubic(BCC)structure(x=1).Reasonable control of the Zr content can endow the alloy excellent comprehensive ***,for CoCrFeNiZr_(0.25) alloy,composed of FCC matrix and a small amount of Ni_(7)Zr_(2)phases,the yield strength(~655 MPa)is increased by nearly four times higher than that of Zr-free alloy,and it also has good ductility(fracture stain>50%).Meanwhile,the corrosion resistance of CoCrFeNiZr_(0.25) alloy is better than that of *** EIS results show that the addition of Zr reduces the stability of the passive film on the alloy,which can be related to the content of the beneficial oxide in the passive film and the thickness of the passive film through XPS ***,the work functions of different phases in CoCrFeNiZr_(x)alloys were obtained by firstprinciples calculations,which further confirmed the selective corrosion mechanism of the CoCrFeNiZr_(x) alloy combining the experimental results.

Identifying Three Shapes of Potential Vorticity Streamers Using Mask R-CNN

Potential vorticity(PV)streamers are elongated filaments of high PV intrusions that generally exhibit three distinct shapes:ordinarily southwestward,hook,and treble-clef,each with significant influences on *** PV streamers are most frequent over arid and semi-arid Central Asia in the mid–high *** study applied the Mask Region-based Convolutional Neural Network algorithm(Mask R-CNN)to PV streamers on the dynamical tropopause during the warm season(May to September)over the years 2000–04 to train a weighted variational model capable of identifying these different *** trained model demonstrated a strong ability to distinguish between the three shapes.A climatological analysis of PV streamers over Central Asia spanning 2000 to 2021 revealed an increasingly deep and pronounced reversal of circulation from ordinary to treble-clef *** treble-clef shape featured a PV tower and distinct cut-off low in the troposphere,but the associated upward motions and precipitation were confined within approximately 1200 km to the east of the PV *** the hook-shape PV streamers were linked to a weaker cut-off low,the extent of upward motion and precipitation was nearly double that of the treble-clef *** contrast,the ordinary PV streamer was primarily associated with tropopause Rossby wave breaking and exhibited relatively shallow characteristics,which resulted in moderate upward motion and precipitation to 500 km to its east.

After the discovery of the ARECh_(2)(A=alkali or monovalent ions,RE=rare-earth,Ch=chalcogen)triangular lattice quantum spin liquid(QSL)family,a series of its oxide,sulfide,and selenide counterparts has been consistently reported and extensively *** KErTe_(2) represents the initial synthesized telluride member,preserving its triangular spin lattice,it was anticipated that the substantial tellurium ions could impart more pronounced magnetic attributes and electronic structures to this material *** study delves into the magnetism of KErTe_(2) at finite temperatures through magnetization and electron spin resonance(ESR)*** on the angular momentum J after spin-orbit coupling(SOC)and symmetry analysis,we obtain the magnetic effective Hamiltonian to describe the magnetism of Er^(3+)in R3m space *** the mean-field approximation to the Hamiltonian,we can simulate the magnetization and magnetic heat capacity of KErTe_(2) in paramagnetic state and determine the crystalline electric field(CEF)parameters and partial exchange *** relatively narrow energy gaps between the CEF ground state and excited states exert a significant influence on the *** example,small CEF excitations can result in a significant broadening of the ESR linewidth at 2 *** the fitted exchange interactions,although the values are small,given a large angular momentum J=15/2 after SOC,they still have a noticeable effect at finite ***,the heat capacity data under different magnetic fields along the𝑐axis direction also roughly match our calculated results,further validating the reliability of our analytical *** derived parameters serve as crucial tools for future investigations into the ground state magnetism of KErTe_(2).The findings presented herein lay a foundation for exploration of the intricate magnetism within the triangular-lattice delafossite family.

Occurrence and Decay of SARS-CoV-2 in Community Sewage Drainage Systems

The rapid spread of the coronavirus disease(COVID-19)pandemic in over 200 countries poses a substantial threat to human *** acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),which causes COVID-19,can be discharged with feces into the drainage ***,a comprehensive understanding of the occurrence,presence,and potential transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in sewers,especially in community sewers,is still *** study investigated the virus occurrence by viral nucleic acid testing in vent stacks,septic tanks,and the main sewer outlets of community where confirmed patients had lived during the early days of the epidemic in Wuhan,*** results indicated that the risk of long-term emission of SARS-CoV-2 to the environment via vent stacks of buildings was low after confirmed patients were ***-CoV-2 were mainly detected in the liquid phase,as opposed to being detected in aerosols,and its RNA in the sewage of septic tanks could be detected for only four days after confirmed patients were *** surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage could be a sensitive indicator for the possible presence of asymptomatic patients in the community,though the viral concentration could be diluted more than ten times,depending on the sampling site,as indicated by the Escherichia coli *** comprehensive investigation of the community sewage drainage system is helpful to understand the occurrence characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage after excretion with feces and the feasibility of sewage surveillance for COVID-19 pandemic monitoring.

Remote sensing image target detection is one of the key technologies in the field of intelligent interpretation of remote sensing images, and it has significant application value in various areas, including military defense. When performing remote sensing image object detection on airborne and spaceborne platforms, the vast amount of remote sensing data processing and limited computational resources impose high real-time requirements on the object detection algorithms. This paper designs a lightweight object detection network model named YOLOv5-tiny, based on the existing deep learning network detection model YOLOv5s, and deploys it on the Jetson TX2 development board for training and testing. Experimental results show that the proposed YOLOv5-tiny model, when tested on the SAR-AIRcraft-1.0 with an input image size of 640x640, is 10 times smaller than YOLOv5s;it has a computational cost of 5.2 GFLOPs, which is 1/5 of YOLOv5s, and the processing time for a single image is reduced to half that of YOLOv5s, with only a 0.1% decrease in accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.
