qSTA2-2,a novel QTL that contributes to seed starch synthesis in Zea mays L.

The seed storage materials accumulate during seed development,and are essential for seed germination and seedling *** we employed two bi-parental populations of an F2:3 population developed from a cross of improved 220(I220,small seeds with low starch)and PH4CV(large seeds with high starch),as well as recombinant-inbred lines(RILs)of X178(high starch)and its improved introgression line I178(low starch),to identify the genes that control seed storage *** identified a total of 12 QTLs for starch,protein and oil,which explained 3.44-10.79%of the phenotypic *** them,qSTA2-1 identified in F2:3 and qSTA2-2 identified in the RILs partially overlapped at an interval of 7.314-9.554 Mb,and they explained 3.44-10.21%of the starch content variation,so they were selected for further *** mapping of qSTA2-2 with the backcrossed populations of ^(I220)/PH4CV in each generation narrowed it down to a 199.7 kb interval that contains 14 open reading frames(ORFs).Transcriptomic analysis of developing seeds from the near-isogenic lines(NILs)of ^(I220)/PH4CV(BC_(5)F_(2))showed that only 11 ORFs were expressed in 20 days after pollination(DAP)*** of them were upregulated and six of them were downregulated in NIL^(I220),and the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)between NIL^(I220) and NIL^(PH4CV) were enriched in starch metabolism,hormone signal transduction and glycosaminoglycan *** the eleven NIL^(I220) differential expressed ORFs,ORF4(Zm00001d002260)and ORF5(Zm00001d002261)carry 75%protein sequence similarity,both encodes an glycolate oxidase,were the possible candidates of *** analysis and validation indicated that mutation of the qSTA2-2 locus resulted in the dysfunction of ABA accumulation,the embryo/endosperm ratio and the starch and hormone levels.

Multi-Stage Confidence-Guided Diffusion and Emotional Bidirectional Mamba for Robust Speech Emotion Recognition

Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) in noisy environments is challenging due to the overlap between emotional and noise-related signals. We propose a novel emotion-diffusion approach to enhance SER performance in noisy conditions that transfers emotional information from clean to noisy speech through a multi-stage diffusion process. First, Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients and their delta features are extracted to capture emotional dynamics. Additionally, an Emotional Bidirectional Mamba Encoder with a Multi-time View Bidirectional State Space Model is designed to capture temporal emotional patterns. Next, the Emotion-Transferring Diffusion Network (ETDN) applies confidence filtering to retain key emotional features, ensuring effective emotion transfer despite noise. Finally, the Confidence-Guided Mutual Learning strategy refines noisy features for the Classification Network (CN), while the CN supervises the ETDN to maintain label consistency. Experiments on the IEMOCAP dataset show significant improvements in weighted accuracy, unweighted accuracy, and weighted F1 score across various signal-to-noise ratios. © 1994-2012 IEEE.

We present a method that the atomic transition frequency measurement relies on the accurate wavemeter,optical frequency comb and stable Fabry–Pérot cavity to precise determination of stable even isotope shift on single Yb+ion(A=168,170,172,174,176).The 6s^(2)S_(1/2)←→6p^(2)P_(1/2)and 5d^(2)D_(3/2)←→6s^(3)[3/2]_(1/2)resonance dipole transition frequencies are preliminarily measured by using a wavemeter which is calibrated by the 729 nm clock laser of ^(40)Ca^(+).Meanwhile,those frequencies are double checked by using optical frequency comb for correction of ***,by changing frequency locking points at an ultralow expansion cavity more slightly and monitoring the corresponding atomic fluorescence changing with 17%,we finally improve the resonant frequency uncertainty to±6 MHz,which is one order of improvement in precision higher than previously published measurements on the same transitions.A King-plot analysis with sensitivity to coupling between electrons and neutrons is carried out to determine the field and mass shift *** measurement combined with existing or future isotope shift measurements can be used to determine basic properties of atomic nuclei,and to test new forces beyond the Standard Model.

In order to enhance the fatigue properties of metallic materials,a feasible rationale is to delay or prevent the interior and surface fatigue crack *** on this rationale,the study investigates the approach of improving the very high cycle fatigue properties of TC6 titanium alloys through near-βforging coupled with shot peening,conducted at 930℃and ambient temperature,*** unveil the associated mechanisms,microstructure,microhardness,residual stress,and fatigue properties are thoroughly analyzed after each *** indicate a considerable refinement in microstructure and significant mitigation of the initially existed strong texture post near-βforging and annealing,efficiently delaying crack initiation and *** a result,the very high cycle fatigue property of TC6 achieves remarkable enhancement after *** to near-βforging,shot peening might not necessarily improve the very high cycle fatigue performance,particularly beyond 10^(6)cycles.

In recent years,the Lunar south pole region(SPR)has become the focus of future explorations due to its special illumination condition and the possible water ice in permanently shadowed craters around *** Shackleton crater locates almost exactly at the Moon’s south pole and has become the hottest destination for several landing missions,including the Chang’E-7 ***,people still know little about the electric potential and the dust environment around this *** this paper,we develop an analytical model to study the surface potential and the electrostatic dust transport around the *** is found that the crater’s floor can be negatively charged due to the topographic shielding,and the surface potential is as low as-175 V on the leeward crater ***,a large number of charged dust grains can be emitted from the leeward crater wall,with a maximum height of about 10 km and a horizontal distance of about 40 km,which brings a local dust cloud around the *** the topographic shielding and the local dust cloud are qualitatively verified by a numerical simulation,in which a typical dust density of 10^(4)-10^(5)m^(-3)is found near the *** results are important to the environmental assessment for future explorations near the ***,the results are helpful to understand the surface charging and the electrostatic dust transport on the other airless bodies.

The effect of precipitation aging on the fracture behavior of cast Mg-14.23Gd-0.45Zr(wt.%)alloy at room temperature has been studied in this *** tensile and three-point bending tests were conducted on samples peak-aged at 175,200,225,and 250 ℃.Notably,samples aged at 175 ℃ and 200 ℃ exhibited premature fracture during the uniaxial tensile *** fractographic observations of the tensile test samples and electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)analysis on the samples sub-jected to three-point bending tests,a preferential formation of cleavage cracks in samples aged at 175 ℃ and 200 ℃ was identified as the reason for their premature *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)results and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)observations of precipitates indicate that the dominant strengthening precipitates in all peak-aged samples are of theβ'phase,and their size significantly influences the formation of cleavage *** phenomenon is attributed to the shearing mechanism of ***,the smaller β'precipitates formed under the aging temperature of 175-200 ℃ are susceptible to dislocation shearing,leading to the formation of cleavage *** contrast,the larger size of β'precipitates formed under the aging temperature of 225-250 ℃ provides resistance to shearing,resulting in the restrained formation of cleavage cracks and ultimately contributing to the enhancement of the ultimate tensile strength.

Insect legs play a crucial role in various modes of locomotion,including walking,jumping,swimming,and other forms of *** flexibility of their leg joints is critical in enabling various modes of *** frog-legged leaf beetle Sagra femorata possesses remarkably enlarged hind legs,which are considered to be a critical adaptation that enables the species to withstand external *** confronted with external threats,*** initiates a stress response by rapidly rotating its hind legs backward and upward to a specific angle,thereby potentially intimidating potential *** on video analysis,we identified 4 distinct phases of the hind leg rotation process in ***,which were determined by the range of rotation angles(0°−168.77°).Utilizing micro-computed tomography(micro-CT)technology,we performed a 3-dimensional(3D)reconstruction and conducted relative positioning and volumetric analysis of the metacoxa and metatrochanter of *** analysis revealed that the metacoxa–trochanter joint is a“screw-nut”structure connected by 4 muscles,which regulate the rotation of the *** testing using a 3D-printed model of the metacoxa–trochanter joint demonstrated its possession of a self-locking mechanism capable of securing the legs in specific positions to prevent excessive rotation and *** can be envisioned that this self-locking mechanism holds potential for application in bio-inspired robotics.

Characterization and source apportionment of pharmaceuticals in surface water of the Yangtze Estuary and adjacent sea

Pharmaceuticals, which are closely linked to human activities, have attracted global attention. This study investigated the occurrence characteristics of 20 pharmaceuticals in surface water of the Yangtze Estuary and adjacent sea. A total of 14 targeted pharmaceuticals were detected in both spring and summer sampling campaigns. The mean concentrations of sulfonamides and non-sulfonamides were 36.60 ± 19.43 ng·L−1 and 50.02 ± 41.07 ng·L−1, respectively. As for non-antibiotics, their concentrations were in the range of 24.34 ± 916.8 ng·L−1 with caffeine accounting for 6.17 ~ 86.70% (average percentage of 42.22%). Meanwhile, spatial distribution patterns showed similarities between antibiotics and non-antibiotics, with high levels occurring near the upper estuary, aquaculture areas, wastewater treatment plants, and the maximum turbidity zone. This phenomenon could be related to the sources of pharmaceuticals and the physicochemical properties of water bodies. Obviously, the first three areas are highly impacted by human activities or serve as important sources of terrestrial contaminants entering the East China Sea. The last area retains high amounts of suspended particles which may exert strong trapping effects on hydrophobic chemicals. Principal component analysis revealed the presence of three potential sources for pharmaceuticals in the Yangtze Estuary, with a relatively high percentage originating from incompletely treated municipal sewage. As for the temporal trend, pharmaceutical contamination was found to be higher in spring compared to summer, potentially due to variations in pharmaceutical consumption patterns, local rainfalls, and water temperatures. These findings provide fundamental data support for implementing appropriate local management strategies for pharmaceutical usages. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Assessment of International GNSS Service Global Ionosphere Map products over China region based on measurements from the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China

The global ionosphere maps(GIM)provided by the International GNSS Service(IGS)are extensively utilized for ionospheric morphology monitoring,scientific research,and practical *** the credibility of GIM products in data-sparse regions is of paramount *** this study,measurements from the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China(CMONOC)are leveraged to evaluate the suitability of IGS-GIM products over China region in *** indices of mean error(ME),root mean square error(RMSE),and normalized RMSE(NRMSE)are then utilized to quantify the accuracy of IGS-GIM *** revealed distinct local time and latitudinal dependencies in IGS-GIM errors,with substantially high errors at nighttime(NRMSE:39%)and above 40°latitude(NRMSE:49%).Seasonal differences also emerged,with larger equinoctial deviations(NRMSE:33.5%)compared with summer(20%).A preliminary analysis implied that the irregular assimilation of sparse IGS observations,compounded by China’s distinct geomagnetic topology,may manifest as error *** results suggest that modeling based solely on IGS-GIM observations engenders inadequate representations across China and that a thorough examination would proffer the necessary foundation for advancing regional total electron content(TEC)constructions.
