Space weathering characteristics of lunar permanently shadowed regions soils:Evidence from experimental simulation

Permanently shadowed regions(PSRs)on the Moon are potential reservoirs for water ice,making them hot spots for future lunar *** water ice in PSRs would cause distinctive changes in space weathering there,in particular reduction-oxidation processes that diff er from those in illuminated *** determine the characteristics of products formed during space weathering in PSRs,the lunar meteorite NWA 10203 with artifi cially added water was irradiated with a nanosecond laser to simulate a micro-meteorite bombardment of lunar soil containing water *** TEM results of the water-incorporated sample showed distinct amorphous rims that exhibited irregular thickness,poor stratifi cation,the appearance of bubbles,and a reduced number of npFe^(0).Additionally,EELS analysis showed the presence of ferric iron at the rim of the nanophase metallic iron particles(npFe^(0))in the amorphous rim with the involvement of *** results suggest that water ice is another possible factor contributing to oxidation during micrometeorite bombardment on the lunar *** addition,it off ers a reference for a new space weathering model that incorporates water in PSRs,which could be widespread on asteroids with volatiles.

Proactive service is a kind of service that can be automatically provided based on logical judgment without human intervention. The traditional approach to evaluating proactive services involves conducting quantitative analyses through public datasets. However, this method can only evaluate the effectiveness of the specific algorithms and has limitations in evaluating the effectiveness of real-world applications as a whole. Determining a more appropriate evaluation approach for proactive services is a challenging problem. To address this issue, this paper proposes a method to evaluate the effectiveness of proactive services from a simulation perspective with a case of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) shipping as an example. Using the multi-agent simulation method, we design and implement a simulation model for LNG ships navigating at sea while avoiding dangerous areas by AnyLogic, which is capable of interacting with the deep learning model for predicting ships’ locations. Our simulation model also defines a set of metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of proactive services in the application case. We present a simulation demonstration on evading dangerous areas for LNG ships and conduct simulation experiments. The experimental results show that the simulation model can serve as an effective evaluation method for proactive services. Additionally, the simulation model can also be used to analyze differences in the application effects of proactive services implemented under different prediction algorithms. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The risks of railway protective facilities poses a huge threat to the safety of railway transportation, and railway traffic accidents occur frequently. In order to meet the needs of the development of the railway transportation industry in the new period, this paper summarizes the safety risk management and control at home and abroad from the concrete implementation level of the safety risk management and control work of the head office of the railway, the existing safety risk "Hazard source" is analyzed, and the safety risk control measures are formulated. This paper discusses risk management of safety of protective facilities, such as overcrossing railway and highway Bridges, undercrossing railway and road Bridges, and parallel sections of buses and railways, and puts forward the working methods of early detection, early treatment, early report and early communication, to provide a reference for the environmental safety management work along the railway. Research on Starlink Ephemeris Published by SpaceX

Faced with the significant disruption of normal space activities caused by Starlink satellites, the Starlink ephemeris published by SpaceX provides an opportunity for relevant research on Starlink satellites. However, due to the lack of clear instructions, it is challenging to utilize the data further. analysis of the ephemeris file reveals that it primarily represents the predicted orbit for the next 3 d. Research on mean orbital elements indicates that the front part of the ephemeris is an extrapolated orbit with perturbations up to at least the 20th order of Earth's gravitational field, while the latter part is a design orbit with J₂ perturbation. The ephemeris includes covariance information, providing accuracy details. The covariance indicates that the accuracy of the ephemeris for satellites located in parking and working orbits is better than 2 km in the first day, while the accuracy of satellites in raising orbit increases rapidly to thousands of meters in less than half a day. Utilizing the designed orbit of the ephemeris enables a more accurate analysis of constellation configuration, especially the designated position of each satellite, thus facilitating the identification and tracking of Starlink satellites. The study provides valuable insights for the extensive application of Starlink ephemeris, serving as a beneficial reference for maneuver detection and collision warnings of Starlink satellites. © 2024

We present a unified probabilistic formulation for diffusion-based image editing, where a latent variable is edited in a task-specific manner and generally deviates from the corresponding marginal distribution induced by the original stochastic or ordinary differential equation (SDE or ODE). Instead, it defines a corresponding SDE or ODE for editing. In the formulation, we prove that the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the marginal distributions of the two SDEs gradually decreases while that for the ODEs remains as the time approaches zero, which shows the promise of SDE in image editing. Inspired by it, we provide the SDE counterparts for widely used ODE baselines in various tasks including inpainting and image-to-image translation, where SDE shows a consistent and substantial improvement. Moreover, we propose SDE-Drag - a simple yet effective method built upon the SDE formulation for point-based content dragging. We build a challenging benchmark (termed DragBench) with open-set natural, art, and AI-generated images for evaluation. A user study on DragBench indicates that SDE-Drag significantly outperforms our ODE baseline, existing diffusion-based methods, and the renowned DragGAN. Our results demonstrate the superiority and versatility of SDE in image editing and push the boundary of diffusion-based editing methods. With the rapid expansion of livestock production,the amount of livestock wastewater accumulated *** of biodegradable organic matter makes denitrification of livestock wastewater after anaerobic digestion more *** this study,Myriophyllum aquaticum constructed wetlands(CWs)with efficient nitrogen removal performance were established under different carbon/nitrogen(C/N)*** of community composition reveals the change of *** CWs in microbial community structure with C/N *** proportion of Proteobacteria which is one of the dominant phyla among denitrifier communities increased significantly under low C/N ratio ***,to obtain cultivable denitrifier that could be added into CWs in situ,33 strains belonging to phylum Proteobacteria were isolated from efficient *** CWs,while the best-performing denitrification strain M3-1 was identified as Bacillus velezensis JT3-1(GenBank ***032506.1).Redundancy analysis and quadratic models showed that C/N ratio had significant effects on disposal of nitrate(NO_(3)^(−)-N)and the strains isolated could perform well in denitrification when C/N ratio is relatively *** addition,they have relatively wide ranges of carbon sources,temperature and a high NO_(3)^(−)removal rate of 9.12 mg/(L·hr)at elevated concentrations of 800 mg/L ***,strains isolated from *** CWs with low C/N ratio have a practical application value in the treatment of nitrate-containing *** denitrifying bacteria could be added to CWs to enhance nitrogen removal efficiency of CWs for livestock wastewater with low C/N ratio in the future.

The mirid bug Apolygus lucorum(Hemiptera:Miridae)is a polyphagous pest that affects a wide range of host *** control remains challenging mainly due to its rapid reproduction,necessitating an understanding of sex pheromone *** recognition of sex pheromones is vital for courtship and mating behaviors,and is mediated by various chemosensory-associated *** these,sensory neuron membrane protein(SNMP),a CD36-related protein,is suggested to play crucial roles in detecting sex *** this study,we employed transcriptomic and genomic data from *** and phylogenetic approaches,and identified four putative SNMP genes(AlucSNMP1a,AlucSNMP1b,AlucSNMP2a,and AlucSNMP2b)with full open reading *** analysis revealed the ubiquitous presence of AlucSNMP transcripts in multiple tissues,with only AlucSNMP1a exhibiting male-biased expression in the antennae,suggesting its potential role in male *** analysis using the Xenopus oocyte expression system,coupled with two-electrode voltage clamp recording,demonstrated that the co-expression of AlucSNMP1a with specific pheromone receptors(PRs)and the Odorant receptor co-receptor(Orco)significantly enhanced electrophysiological responses to sex pheromones compared to the co-expression of PRs and Orco ***,the results indicated that the presence of AlucSNMP1a not only affected the responsiveness to sex pheromones but also influenced the kinetics(activation and inactivation)of the induced *** contrast,the co-expression of AlucSNMP1b with AlucPR/Orco complexes had no impact on the inward currents induced by two pheromone *** examination of the selective pressures on SNMP1 genes across 20 species indicated strong purifying selection,implying potential functional conservation in various *** findings highlight the crucial role of AlucSNMP1a in the response to sex pheromones.

Cities are increasingly vital in global carbon mitigation efforts,yet few have specifically tailored carbon neutrality ***,out-of-boundary indirect greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions,aside from those related to electricity and heat imports,are often overlooked in existing pathways,despite their significance in comprehensive carbon mitigation *** this gap,here we introduce an integrated analysis framework focusing on both production and consumption-related GHG *** to Wuyishan,a service-oriented city in Southern China,this framework provides a holistic view of a city's carbon neutrality pathway,from a full-scope GHG emission *** findings reveal the equal importance of carbon reduction within and outside the city's boundaries,with out-of-boundary emissions accounting for 42%of Wuyishan's present total GHG *** insight highlights the necessity of including these external factors in GHG accounting and mitigation strategy *** framework serves as a practical tool for cities,particularly in developing countries,to craft effective carbon neutrality roadmaps that encompass the full spectrum of GHG emissions.
