DPANet: Depth potentiality-aware gated attention network for RGB-D salient object detection

There are two main issues in RGB-D salient object detection: (1) how to effectively integrate the complementarity from the cross-modal RGB-D data;(2) how to prevent the contamination effect from the unreliable depth map. In fact, these two problems are linked and intertwined, but the previous methods tend to focus only on the first problem and ignore the consideration of depth map quality, which may yield the model fall into the sub-optimal state. In this paper, we address these two issues in a holistic model synergistically, and propose a novel network named DPANet to explicitly model the potentiality of the depth map and effectively integrate the cross-modal complementarity. By introducing the depth potentiality perception, the network can perceive the potentiality of depth information in a learning-based manner, and guide the fusion process of two modal data to prevent the contamination occurred. The gated multi-modality attention module in the fusion process exploits the attention mechanism with a gate controller to capture long-range dependencies from a cross-modal perspective. Experimental results compared with 16 state-of-the-art methods on 8 datasets demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach both quantitatively and qualitatively. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with active dry yeast (ADY) alone or in combination with Bacillus subtilis (BS) on physiological parameters (laying performance, egg quality, blood indexes), reproductive traits, ileum microbiome, metabolome, and uterine gene expression in aged breeder hens. A total of 336 Hy-line brown layer hens aged 55 weeks were randomly assigned to three groups using a completely randomized design: control group (Con, basal diet), ADY group (1 g ADY/kg diet), and ADY-BS combination group (1 g ADY + 0.1 g BS/kg diet). Compared with the Con group, ADY-BS group significantly improved egg production ( P = 0.024) and reduced feed conversion ratio ( P = 0.034), while also significantly increasing feed intake compared to the ADY group ( P = 0.020). Additionally, both ADY and ADY-BS significantly enhanced eggshell-breaking strength compared to untreated hens ( P < 0.001), with ADY-BS further notably increasing lysozyme levels ( P = 0.031), antibody titers against avian influenza H5 and H9 subtypes ( P = 0.008 and P = 0.001, respectively), and calcium content in serum ( P = 0.021). analysis of the ileal microbiota revealed significant modifications, as evidenced by reduced richness (Chao1 index: P = 0.016 and P = 0.008 for the ADY and ADY-BS groups, respectively) and improved evenness (Simpson index: P = 0.032 for both groups). Relative to the untreated group hens, ADY enriched Streptococcus ( P = 0.007), Enterococcus ( P = 0.009), and Gallibacterium ( P = 0.027), whereas ADY-BS remarkably enriched Lactobacillus ( P = 0.028). Furthermore, Lactobacillus enriched in ADY-BS group hens was negatively correlated with ileum differential metabolites such as phenylalanyl-threonine and phenylalanyl-tryptophan. Correlation analysis indicated that these differential metabolites were negatively associated with gene expressions related to calcium ion transport and immune pathways in the uterus based on the data of RNA sequence. Twin-field quantum key distribution (TF-QKD) 1 promises ultra-long secure key distribution which surpasses the rate distance limit 2 and can reduce the number of the trusted nodes in long-haul quantum network 3. Tremendous efforts have been made towards implementation of TF-QKD, among which, the secure key with finite size analysis can distribute more than 500 km in the lab 4–6 and in the field 7. Here, we demonstrate the sending-or-not-sending TF-QKD 8 experimentally, achieving a secure key distribution with finite size analysis over 658 km ultra-low-loss optical fiber, improve the secure distance record by around 100 km. Meanwhile, in a TF-QKD system, any phase fluctuation due to temperature variation and ambient variation during the channel must be recorded and compensated, and all these phase information can then be utilized to sense the channel vibration perturbations. With our QKD system, we recovered the external vibrational perturbations on the fiber generated by an artificial vibroseis and successfully located the perturbation position with a resolution better than 1 km. Our results not only set a new distance record of QKD, but also demonstrate that the redundant information of TF-QKD can be used for remote sensing of the channel vibration, which can find applications in earthquake detection and landslide monitoring besides secure communication. © 2021, CC BY.

With the rapid progress of deepfake techniques in recent years, facial video forgery can generate highly deceptive video contents and bring severe security threats. And detection of such forgery videos is much more urgent and challenging. Most existing detection methods treat the problem as a vanilla binary classification problem. In this paper, the problem is treated as a special fine-grained classification problem since the differences between fake and real faces are very subtle. It is observed that most existing face forgery methods left some common artifacts in the spatial domain and time domain, including generative defects in the spatial domain and inter-frame inconsistencies in the time domain. And a spatial-temporal model is proposed which has two components for capturing spatial and temporal forgery traces in global perspective respectively. The two components are designed using a novel long distance attention mechanism. The one component of the spatial domain is used to capture artifacts in a single frame, and the other component of the time domain is used to capture artifacts in consecutive frames. They generate attention maps in the form of patches. The attention method has a broader vision which contributes to better assembling global information and extracting local statistic information. Finally, the attention maps are used to guide the network to focus on pivotal parts of the face, just like other fine-grained classification methods. The experimental results on different public datasets demonstrate that the proposed method achieves the state-of-the-art performance, and the proposed long distance attention method can effectively capture pivotal parts for face forgery. To address peak-shaving demand and ensure energy security, deep underground energy storage stands as a crucial approach in the development of future energy reserves. The target depth of the underground gas storage salt cavern (GSSC) in the Jingjie district of Yulin City, China, exceeds 2600 m. Based on the geological characteristics, a new scheme for constructing an ultra-deep GSSC with thick interlayers was proposed, and a geomechanical model was developed. The simulation results indicated that the thick interlayer in 9 sub-members collapsed when the cavern pressure decreased to 12 MPa. Based on an extensive evaluation system, the stability of the GSSC with thick interlayers was analyzed. The results indicated that as operational pressure increased, there was a decrease in the displacement, volume shrinkage (VS), and plastic zone, alongside an increase in vertical stress and the safety factor (SF). The minimum operation pressure (MOP) range of 28–48 MPa is proposed to adhere to the stability criteria. A novel method for gas storage utilizing the void space within bottom sediments is proposed. The available volume of the cavern using sediment voids (7.43 × 10 5 m 3 ) is about 1.36 times that of the conventional cavern (5.48 × 10 5 m 3 ). The use of sediment voids can significantly improve the energy storage capacity of caverns. The research results demonstrated that Jingjie ultra-deep GSSC has good feasibility.

Prefried potato is a common semi-finished product used in catering services. However, the quality changes that occur during its transition from a semi-finished to a finished dish remain unclear. This study investigated the moisture and oil content changes in prefried potatoes during freezing–thawing and various reheating processes. The results showed that the oil contents of prefried, prefried–refried, and prefried–reboiled potatoes were 2.14 %, 3.34 %, and 1.33 %, respectively. The moisture content of prefried–reboiled potatoes was higher than that of prefried and prefried–refried samples. SEM and MRI analysis revealed that freezing significantly ( P < 0.05) increased porosity and promoted water–oil exchange in frozen–refried and frozen–reboiled potatoes. Ice melting contributed to reduced porosity and inhibited oil absorption in thawed–refried samples. However, there were no significant differences ( P > 0.05) in moisture and oil content between frozen–reboiled and thawed–reboiled samples. This study provides new insights into the quality changes of semi-finished foods during industrial processing.

In highway domain, business analyses are always multidimensional on massive data for the traffic monitor and control. It is tedious to develop data analysis jobs from scratch and is hardly to consider comprehensive factors from requirements. In this paper, we propose a domain specific service template on massive toll data in highway domain. Based on the service template, abundant multidimensional analysis jobs as services can be built and managed flexibly. Jet precession has previously been proposed to explain the apparently repeating features in the light curves of a few gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). In this Letter, we further apply the precession model to a bright GRB 220408B by examining both its temporal and spectral consistency with the predictions of the model. As one of the recently confirmed GRBs observed by our GRID CubeSat mission, GRB 220408B is noteworthy as it exhibits three apparently similar emission episodes. Furthermore, the similarities are reinforced by their strong temporal correlations and similar features in terms of spectral evolution and spectral lags. Our analysis demonstrates that these features can be well explained by the modulated emission of a Fast-Rise-Exponential-Decay (FRED) shape light curve intrinsically produced by a precessing jet with a precession period of 18.4 ± 0.2 seconds, a nutation period of 11.1 ± 0.2 seconds and viewed off-axis. The use of various types of calcium phosphate has been reported in the preparation of repairing materials for bone ***,the physicochemical and biological properties among them might be vastly *** this study,we prepared two types of calcium phosphates,nano-hydroxyapatite(nHA)and natural bone ceramic(NBC),into 3D scaffolds by mixing with type I collagen(CoL),resulting in the nHA/CoL and NBC/CoL *** then evaluated and compared the physicochemical and biological properties of these two calcium phosphates and their composite scaffold with *** electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray diffraction spectroscopy(XRD)and compressive tests were used to,respectively,characterize the morphology,composition,distribution and the effect of nHA and NBC to ***,we examined the biological properties of the scaffolds using cytotoxicity testing,flow cytometry,immunofluorescence staining,biocompatibility testing,CCK-8 assays and *** results reflected that the Ca2t released from nHA and NBC could bind chemically with collagen and affect its physicochemical properties,including the infrared absorption spectrum and compression modulus,among ***,the two kinds of scaffolds could promote the expression of osteo-relative genes,but showed different gene induction *** short,NBC/CoL could promote the expression of early osteogenic genes,while nHA/CoL could upregulate late osteogenic ***,these two composite scaffolds could provide MC3T3-E1 cells with a biomimetic surface for adhesion,proliferation and the formation of mineralized extracellular ***,nHA/CoL and NBC/CoL had different effects on the period and extent ofMC3T3-E1 cell mineralization.
