Difficulty-to-measure process parameter relative to production quality and efficient of complex industrial process is obtained normally by off-line analysis or expert estimation. One of the main reason is that the soft measuring model between multi-source input features and such process parameter is difficulty to be constructed. Aim at the above issue, a new soft measuring method is proposed in this study. At first, linear and nonlinear feature sub-sets are selected by using correlation coefficient and mutual information method. Then, four types of linear and nonlinear candidate sub-models are constructed based on the above feature subsets. At last, optimization and weighting algorithms are used to select and combine the selected ensemble sub-models. Thus, the final selective ensemble learning-based soft measuring model is obtained. The modeling results based on high dimensional mechanical vibration frequency spectrum validate effectiveness of this approach.

This paper studies several performance metrics of a wireless-powered decode-and-forward(DF) relay network with imperfect channel state information(CSI). In particular, based on the time switching(TS) protocol, the energy-constrained relay harvesting energy from a power beacon(PB), and uses that harvested energy to forward the source information to destination. The closedform expression of the outage probability is firstly derived over Rayleigh fading channels. Then, the asymptotic analysis, throughput as well as the symbol error probability(SEP) are derived based on the expression of the outage probability. Next, both transmission power of the source and the power beacon are optimized through the throughput optimization. Finally, simulations are conducted to corroborate our theoretical analysis, and to reveal the impact of the transmission power of the source and PB as well as the imperfect CSI on the system performance.

Filaments are very common physical phenomena on the Sun and are often taken as important proxies of solar magnetic activities. The study of filaments has become a hot topic in the space weather research. For a more comprehensive understanding of filaments, especially for an understanding of solar activities of multiple solar cycles, it is necessary to perform a combined multifeature analysis by constructing a data set of multiple solar cycle data. To achieve this goal, we constructed a centennial data set that covers the Hα data from five observatories around the world. During the data set construction, we encountered varieties of problems, such as data fusion, accurate determination of the solar edge, classifying data by quality, dynamic threshold, and so on, which arose mainly due to multiple sources and a large time span of data. But fortunately, these problems were well solved. The data set includes seven types of data products and eight types of feature parameters with which we can implement the functions of data searching and statistical analyses. It has the characteristics of better continuity and highly complementary to space observation data, especially in the wavelengths not covered by space observations, and covers many solar cycles (including more than 60 yr of high-cadence data). We expect that this new comprehensive data set as well as the tools will help researchers to significantly speed up their search for features or events of interest, for either statistical or case study purposes, and possibly help them get a better and more comprehensive understanding of solar filament mechanisms. Global warming results in the rapid melting of glacial lakes in the Himalayas. In this paper, we took the Karakoram range in the Himalayas as the study area, and we derived the glacial lake area in 2001, 2014, and 2017 with semantic segmentation algorithm. Firstly, five high-resolution images in Mount Lucania were collected from Google Earth. Secondly, each image was labelled, and 80000 training images with the size of 256×256 pixels were derived using augmentation approach. Thirdly, a model of the stacking network of U-Net and SegNet based on these training images to extract the glacial lake was trained. Then, another five images of Karakoram range were derived from Google Earth as a testing dataset to demonstrate the performance of training model. Finally, the glacial lakes were extracted from the images of Karakoram range in the same month in 2001, 2014 and 2017. Our result showed that the area of the glacial lake in Karakoram range increased rapidly from 2001 to 2014, but decreased from 2014 to 2017.

XSS is one of the common vulnerabilities in web applications. Many black-box testing tools may collect a large number of payloads and traverse them to find a payload that can be successfully injected, but they are not very efficient. And previous research has paid less attention to how to improve the efficiency of black-box testing to detect XSS vulnerability. To improve the efficiency of testing, we develop an XSS testing tool. It collects 6128 payloads and uses a headless browser to detect XSS vulnerability. The tool can discover XSS vulnerability quickly with the ART(Adaptive Random testing) method. We conduct an experiment using 3 extensively adopted open source vulnerable benchmarks and 2 actual websites to evaluate the ART method. The experimental results indicate that the ART method can effectively improve the fuzzing method by more than 27.1% in reducing the number of attempts before accomplishing a successful injection.

In this paper, we report the location results for the parent lightning strokes of more than 30 red sprites observed over an asymmetric mesoscale convective system(MCS) on 30 July 2015 in Shandong Province, China, with a long-baseline lightning location network of very-low-frequency/low-frequency magnetic field sensors. The results show that almost all of these cloud-to-ground(CG) strokes are produced during the mature stage of the MCS, and are predominantly located in the trailing stratiform region, which is similar to analyses of sprite-productive MCSs in North America and Europe. Comparison between the location results for the sprite-producing CG strokes and those provided by the World Wide Lightning Location Network(WWLLN) indicates that the location accuracy of WWLLN for intense CG strokes in Shandong Province is typically within 10 km, which is consistent with the result based on analysis of 2838 sprite-producing CG strokes in the continental United States. Also, we analyze two cases where some minor lightning discharges in the parent flash of sprites can also be located, providing an approach to confine the thundercloud region tapped by the sprite-producing CG strokes.

Otolith shape analysis for stock discrimination of two Collichthys genus croaker(Pieces:Sciaenidae,)from the northern Chinese coast

The otolith morphology of two croaker species(C ollichthys lucidus and C ollichthys niveatus) from three areas(Liaodong Bay, LD; Huanghe(Yellow) River estuary, HRE; Jiaozhou Bay, JZ) along the northern Chinese coast were investigated for species identifi cation and stock discrimination. The otolith contour shape described by elliptic Fourier coefficients(EFC) were analysed using principal components analysis(PCA) and stepwise canonical discriminant analysis(CDA) to identify species and stocks. The two species were well dif ferentiated, with an overall classifi cation success rate of 97.8%. And variations in the otolith shapes were significant enough to discriminate among the three geographical samples of C. lucidus(67.7%) or C. niveatus(65.2%). Relatively high mis-assignment occurred between the geographically adjacent LD and HRE samples, which implied that individual mixing may exist between the two samples. This study yielded information complementary to that derived from genetic studies and provided information for assessing the stock structure of C. lucidus and C. niveatus in the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea.

The hitherto unprecedented angular resolution of the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) has created exciting opportunities in the search for new physics. Recently, the linear polarization of radiation emitted near the supermassive black hole M87* was measured on four separate days, precisely enabling tests of the existence of a dense axion cloud produced by a spinning black hole. The presence of an axion cloud leads to a frequency-independent oscillation in the electric vector position angle (EVPA) of this linear polarization. For a nearly face-on M87*, this oscillation in the EVPA appears as a propagating wave along the photon ring. In this paper, we leverage the azimuthal distribution of EVPA measured by the EHT to study the axion-photon coupling. We propose a novel differential analysis procedure to reduce the astrophysical background, and derive stringent constraints on the existence of axions in the previously unexplored mass window ∼ (10−21 − 10−20) eV. © 2021, CC BY.

Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is a widely used cryptographic algorithm in our life. Although its theory has become one of the focuses, it is difficult to ensure its security during the process of implementation. One can break it easily by using side-channel attack such as power attack. In this paper, a key recovery platform is built with computer, filter, signal acquisition module, oscilloscope, and so on. Then, we implement the simple power attack on ECC, and employ self-correlation analysis to make it easy to recover the secret key automatically. Finally, some relevant and effective countermeasures are suggested against power attacks.

Learning graphons via structured gromov-wasserstein barycenters

We propose a novel and principled method to learn a nonparametric graph model called graphon, which is defined in an infinite-dimensional space and represents arbitrary-size graphs. Based on the weak regularity lemma from the theory of graphons, we leverage a step function to approximate a graphon. We show that the cut distance of graphons can be relaxed to the Gromov-Wasserstein distance of their step functions. Accordingly, given a set of graphs generated by an underlying graphon, we learn the corresponding step function as the Gromov-Wasserstein barycenter of the given graphs. Furthermore, we develop several enhancements and extensions of the basic algorithm, e.g., the smoothed Gromov-Wasserstein barycenter for guaranteeing the continuity of the learned graphons and the mixed Gromov-Wasserstein barycenters for learning multiple structured graphons. The proposed approach overcomes drawbacks of prior state-of-the-art methods, and outperforms them on both synthetic and real-world data.
