Effects of high hydrostatic pressure treatment on bacterial composition in donkey milk studied by high throughput sequencing

High hydrostatic pressure has become a non-thermal alternative to thermal pasteurization in dairy product *** this study,we investigated the effects of the treatment of high hydrostatic pressure on the bacterial composition in donkey milk using high-throughput sequencing technology and culture-dependent *** with the microbial composition in the untreated donkey milk,the relative percentage of Pseudomonas and Acinetobacter in donkey milk after high hydrostatic pressure was significantly decreased by 4.92%and 4.82%,*** diversity analysis demonstrated that the treatment of high hydrostatic pressure affected the microbial composition in donkey milk *** potential probiotic Enterococcus casseliflavus isolated from the untreated donkey milk has a good acidifying *** study revealed the effects of high hydrostatic pressure treatment on the microbial composition in donkey milk,exhibiting its practical industrial application and the potential use of biological resources in the future.

A new chloro-azaphilone derivative chaetoviridin L(1)along with four known analogues,namely,chaetomugilin A(2),chaetoviridin E(3),chaetomugilin O(4),and chaephilone D(5),is isolated and identified from the culture extract of Chaetomium globosum YP-106,a deep-sea derived fungus obtained from the hadal zone seawater collected in the Yap *** structures were determined based on detailed interpretation of nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectroscopic,mass spectrometry(MS)data analysis and comparison with the reported *** absolute configuration of the new compound was established by quantum chemical calculations of electronic circular dichroism(ECD).All the isolated compounds were evaluated for pro-angiogenesis activity using zebra fish *** 1,2,and 5significantly promoted the angiogenesis in a dose-dependent manner and thus,these compounds might be used as promising molecules for the treatment of cardiovascular disease.

On the Optimal Initial Inner-Core Size for Tropical Cyclone Intensification: An Idealized Numerical Study

Recent observational and numerical studies have revealed the dependence of the intensification rate on the inner-core size of tropical cyclones(TCs). In this study, with the initial inner-core size(i.e., the radius of maximum wind—RMW)varied from 20–180 km in idealized simulations using two different numerical models, we found a nonmonotonic dependence of the lifetime maximum intensification rate(LMIR) on the inner-core size. Namely, there is an optimal innercore size for the LMIR of a TC. Tangential wind budget analysis shows that, compared to large TCs, small TCs have large inward flux of absolute vorticity due to large absolute vorticity inside the RMW. However, small TCs also suffer from strong lateral diffusion across the eyewall, which partly offsets the positive contribution from large inward flux of absolute vorticity. These two competing processes ultimately lead to the TC with an intermediate initial inner-core size having the largest LMIR. Results from sensitivity experiments show that the optimal size varies in the range of 40–120 km and increases with higher sea surface temperature, lower latitude, larger horizontal mixing length, and weaker initial TC intensity. The 40–120 km RMW corresponds to the inner-core size most commonly found for intensifying TCs in observations, suggesting the natural selection of initial TC size for intensification. This study highlights the importance of accurate representation of TC inner-core size to TC intensity forecasts by numerical weather prediction models.

As a new sand mold forming for patternless casting process, a further study is needed in the extrusion-milling technology. Since the extrusion of sand mold can change the strength and gas permeability, it plays a vital role in the control of shape and performance. To study the law of pressure transfer during extrusion, static and dynamic models of sand particles are developed, and the force transfer mechanism between granular particles is revealed. In this study, the extrusion near-shape process of sand mold with 300mm cavity depth is simulated and analyzed by using discrete element method (DEM). The transmission law of force with 300mm cavity depth under single-sided extrusion is obtained. The deeper the depth of the sand mold cavity, the smaller the force on the bottom of the sand mold, and the more defects in strength and uniformity at the bottom. The correctness of the simulation model is verified by testing the strength and gas permeability of the bottom of the sand mold. This present study provides a research basis for the preparation of high-quality sand mold in extrusion cutting process. © 2022 SPIE

Oxpecker: Leaking Secrets via Fetch Target Queue

Modern processors integrate carefully designed micro-Architectural components within the front-end to optimize performance. These components include instruction cache, micro-operation cache, and instruction prefetcher. Through experimentation, we observed that the rate of instruction generation in the fetch unit markedly exceeds the execution rate in the decode unit. However, existing frameworks of processors fail to explain this phenomenon. Consequently, we empirically validate the presence of an optimization feature, referred to as the Fetch Target Queue (FTQ), within the Intel processor. To the best of our knowledge, our study represents the first empirical validation of FTQ across various Intel processors and provides a comprehensive characterization of unrecorded FTQ micro-structural details on Intel processors. Our analysis uncovers overlooked insights that front-end rollbacks caused by the incorrectly ordered instructions or mismatched instruction lengths stored in FTQ introduce specific execution latencies. Based on these observations, we introduce the Oxpecker attack, consisting of two attack primitives, which leverages the FTQ to construct novel side-channel attacks. We construct two distinct exploitation scenarios for each attack primitive to demonstrate the Oxpecker attack's capability to leak secret control flow information and break Kernel Address Space Layout Randomization. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

Background: In this study we evaluated changes in left ventricular (LV) function and myocardial microstructure in fetuses with right ventricular hypoplasia (RVH) using 2-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography, diffusion tensor cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, and proteomics analysis. Methods: Fifty-one singleton fetuses diagnosed with RVH and 51 normal fetuses were retrospectively included. LV global longitudinal strain and global circumferential strain were acquired using 2-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography. Fraction anisotropy, mean diffusivity, and helix angle were measured using diffusion tensor cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging in 4 fetal specimens with RVH and 3 normal fetal specimens. Bioinformatics analysis was performed for differentially expressed proteins between RVH and normal specimens. Results: In RVH fetuses, LV global longitudinal strain and regional longitudinal strain were significantly lower than in controls (P < 0.001), whereas LV sphericity index and LV global circumferential strain were increased. In RVH fetuses, fraction anisotropy was higher in middle and apical segments than in normal fetuses (P < 0.001). LV mean diffusivity was reduced in all of the segments (P < 0.001). Circumferentially oriented myocytes and left-handed oriented myocytes were increased, but right-handed oriented myocytes were decreased (P < 0.001). Using proteomics, 95 myocardial proteins differed with upregulation of 66 and downregulation in RVH hearts including myocardial contractile fibrillar proteins and cell membrane protein complexes. Conclusions: In fetal RVH, the left ventricle demonstrates altered function with reduced longitudinal but augmented circumferential strain, which might support its need to augment its preload and consequent cardiac output. The demand for semiconductors is increasing day by day, but the noise hazard becomes more and more serious with the increase of semiconductor production. The noise was detected using sound level meter in semiconductor production workshop. The results shows that the noise intensity of a semiconductor workshop is about 93.1 dB (A)–94.7 dB (A), which exceeds the noise limit of 9.7 dB and mainly distributes in the frequency range of 1 k–8 k, so it is belongs to high frequency noise. A sound screen was set up at 0.7 m distance from the equipment for noise protection in this paper. On the basis of comparative analysis, the transparent PC board is selected as the sound insulation material. Through theoretical calculation, it is found that the height of sound insulation screen should be at least 1.6 m in order to achieve 20.5 dB sound insulation effect and meet the requirement of noise limit. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Most existing industrial robots face challenges due to their limited intelligence and flexibility, hindering their ability to adapt to complex and dynamic environments. This limitation primarily stems from inadequate exploration of boundary solving within robot workspaces and insufficient analysis ofrobot singularities. Addressing this gap, this paper introduces a novel method for robot workspace analysis to accurately assess robot singularities. Initially, the paper establishes a kinematics model for a six-axis industrial robot and employs Pieper's solution method to solve inverse kinematics. Subsequently, it integrates geometric and analytical methods to derive the robot workspace surface envelope equation. To further enhance accuracy, the sector space meshing method is applied to discretize the robot workspace across z-direction, radial direction, and rotary angle. Under each spatial mesh point, the robot Jacobi matrix is computed, and the Jacobi condition number is evaluated to determine workspace singularities. Through this proposed methodology, a comprehensive solution for the entire workspace of a six-axis industrial robot is attained, offering substantial support for enhancing industrial robot flexibility. © 2024 SPIE.
