Introduction: Heat stress poses a severe threat to the growth and production of soybean (Glycine max). Brassinosteroids (BRs) actively participate in plant responses to abiotic stresses, however, the role of BR signaling pathway genes in response to heat stress in soybean remains poorly understood. Objectives: In this study, we investigate the regulatory mechanisms of GmBSK1 and GmBES1.5 in response to heat stress and the physiological characteristics and yield performance under heat stress conditions. Methods: Transgenic technology and CRISPR/Cas9 technology were used to generated GmBSK1-OE, GmBES1.5-OE and gmbsk1 transgenic soybean plants, and transcriptome analysis, LUC activity assay and EMSA assay were carried out to elucidate the potential molecular mechanism underlying GmBSK1-GmBES1.5-mediated heat stress tolerance in soybean. Results: CRISPR/Cas9-generated gmbsk1 knockout mutants exhibited increased sensitivity to heat stress due to a reduction in their ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS). The expression of GmBES1.5 was up-regulated in GmBSK1-OE plants under heat stress conditions, and it directly binds to the E-box motif present in the promoters of abiotic stress-related genes, thereby enhancing heat stress tolerance in soybean plants. Furthermore, we identified an interaction between GmGSK1 and GmBES1.5, while GmGSK1 inhibits the transcriptional activity of GmBES1.5. Interestingly, the interaction between GmBSK1 and GmGSK1 promotes the localization of GmGSK1 to the plasma membrane and releases the transcriptional activity of GmBES1.5. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that both GmBSK1 and GmBES1.5 play crucial roles in conferring heat stress tolerance, highlighting a potential strategy for breeding heat-tolerant soybean crops involving the regulatory module consisting of GmBSK1-GmGSK1-GmBES1.5. © 2024

Water entry of structures is a typical hydrodynamic issue in the field of marine engineering. In this paper, an improved Weakly Compressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (WCSPH) method is utilized to develop a two-dimensional numerical model of water entry of a cylinder in free fall. In order to solve the problem of particle distribution along Lagrangian flow lines inherent to SPH, Gradient Particle Shifting Technique (GPST) is introduced. Besides, a sponge layer is installed at the domain boundary to prevent the effect of boundary reflection pressure. A typical test of water-entry of a tank is conducted. Such results as the surface morphology are compared with reliable experimental data, with a low error. Therefore, the present numerical model is validated. After that, the effect of water-entry velocity on slamming load is discussed. The obtained results shall provide a reference for the further investigation on water-entry impact problems. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The distribution of optical turbulence with height over the plateau is one of the most important points for laser propagation in the atmosphere. The simultaneous measurement of optical turbulence at three layers (2m, 5m and 10m) was carried out on Plateau with sand-grass underlying surface. The measured refraction index structure constant at 2m and local sunrise and sunset times were used to verify the applicability of the HAP model. The index of the HAP model and its diurnal variation are re-fitted by the measured refraction index structure constant. Compared with the traditional model, the average correlation coefficient and root mean square error are increased from 0.893, 0.796, 0.263 and 0.286 to 0.899, 0.816, 0.158 and 0.243, respectively. It is improved that the applicability of the new HAP model to plateau atmosphere. The new HAP model provides a new reference for the evaluation of the turbulence effect for plateau laser atmospheric transmission. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Designing three-dimensional (3D) catalytic sites in single-atom catalysts (SACs) that mimic thyroid peroxidase (TPO) function for achieving iodotyrosine coupling, although highly desirable for the synthesis of thyroid hormones, poses a great challenge. Herein, we design and synthesize a class of SACs with 3D catalytic centers composed of Cu-N5 as catalytic sites and BO2 as binding sites (BO2/CuN5C) for mimicking TPO in activating H2O2 to facilitate tyrosine iodination and conjugation for producing thyroid hormones. We demonstrate that the as-prepared BO2/CuN5C not only provides binding sites for H2O2 through hydrogen bond interactions but also possesses catalytic sites to promote an alternative O–O heterolysis process. BO2/CuN5C with TPO-like catalytic centers can produce 3,3′,5-triiodothyronine and D-thyroxine with 2.4-fold and 11.1-fold improvements relative to those of CuN5C. Besides, the assessment of 2-mercapto-1-methylimidazole and 6-propyl-2-thiouracil in vitro investigations of antithyroid drugs corresponds well with the European Thyroid Association guidelines and therefore can provide clinical medication guidance to prevent toxic reactions. Overall, this work unlocks an approach to precisely simulate the natural enzyme active site for amino acid coupling and pharmaceutical assessment. © 2025 science China Press

The noise conversion relationships of relative intensity noise (RIN) and shot noise in a broadband source sensing system using a 3×3 coupler are studied. RIN and shot noise are converted into the phase noise floor through the arctangent demodulation scheme and the performances of the 3×3 coupler. To quantify the contribution of RIN and shot noise, we analyzed the equivalent phase noise induced by RIN and shot noise. The theory and experiment demonstrate that the equivalent phase noise of RIN is related to the correlation of three RINs and the initial phase, and the shot noise is related to the initial phase. © 2023 SPIE.

Mobile manipulators integrate with the mobility of mobile platforms and the manipulation of the multi-degree of freedom manipulators, and have the superiority as large workspace, flexibility and intelligence, etc. According to the configuration of the mobile manipulator, the differential-drive mobile platform movement is converted to virtual joints, i.e., prismatic and revolute joints, together with the multi-degree of freedom manipulator, the mobile manipulator can be built as 2P7R joint configuration, which realizes the whole forward kinematics modeling of mobile platform and multi-joint manipulator, and thus overcoming the traditional divide and conquer modeling method. The analytical modeling of the whole forward kinematics for the mobile manipulator is verified through the Robotics Toolbox. Besides, the workspace of mobile manipulator is analyzed as well, which provides an important reference for high dimensional motion planning and motion control of the mobile manipulators. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Pathological image and genomic data have been widely explored in cancer survival analysis. However, due to the instability of gene sequencing and the randomness of tumor tissue sampling, it remains challenging to extract robust feature representation from each modality. Besides, the high semantic heterogeneity also adds an extra burden to the integration of tissue morphological feature and genomic expression information. In this paper, we propose the node Dropping and feature Alignment based Graph (DAGraph), a unified pathology-genomics fusion framework that utilizes graph neural network to model the spatial organization of pathological image and correlation information of genomics data. Notably, we propose to randomly drop nodes in pathological graph and genomic graph. Then we introduce an intra-modal consistency loss to guide the model to extract robust and general feature via minimizing the feature discrepancy between the original and modified graph in each modality. Additionally, an inter-modal alignment loss is also adopted to reduce the feature heterogeneity and contribute to more sufficient multi-modal fusion. Transformer-based fusion layer is utilized to integrate feature embedding of both modalities. Experiments on low-grade gliomas (LGG) dataset collected from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2025 IEEE.

To realize accurate fault diagnosis of electrical faults for the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive, a digital twin modeling assisted fault diagnosis method is proposed in this article. By developing a digital twin system for physical PMSM drives, the states of physical PMSM drives are precisely monitored and fault classification can be achieved without misdiagnosis. Simulation results are given to validate the feasibility of the proposed method. © 2024 IEEE.

The Early Cretaceous aluminous A-type granites in the Lower Yangtze River belt(LYRB)can provide important insights into the Mesozoic magmatism in eastern China,but their origin remains highly *** this study,radiogenic Ca-Nd isotopic analysis was performed for syenite porphyry and alkali-feldspar granite porphyry of the Yangshan pluton,a typical aluminous A-type granitic intrusion in the LYRB,to constrain its source and geodynamic *** results show thatε_(Ca)(126 Ma),ε_(Nd)(126 Ma)and K/Ca_(source) of the syenite porphyry range from-0.24 to+0.96,-7.2 to-6.0,and 0.31 to 1.26,*** corresponding values for the alkali-feldspar granite porphyry range from 0.26 to 0.84,-8.0 to-6.1,and 0.79 to 1.08,*** mixing modeling indicates that they were originated from the same sources with different proportion,namely,a mixing of 50%to 75%Neoproterozoic crust and 50%to 25%asthenospheric *** with previous works,we propose that the Early Cretaceous subduction of the ridge between the Pacific and Izanagi plates was responsible for the formation of the aluminous A-type granites in the LYRB.
