Inductance parameter design based seamless transfer strategy for three-phase converter in microgrid

During the operation of microgrid, especially when the unplanned islanding occurs, the voltage of the point of common coupling (PCC) needs to be maintained within a certain range, otherwise it would affect the operation of loads in microgrid. This paper proposes a seamless transfer strategy based on the inductance parameter design for three-phase converter in microgrid, which considers both the fundamental component of voltage on the inductance and the ripple current in the inductance. In grid-connected mode, the PCC voltage is supported by the grid. When the unplanned islanding occurs, the PCC voltage is affected by the output voltage of converter and the voltage on the inductance. According to the single phase equivalent circuit, analyzing the phasor diagram of voltage and current vector, considering the prescribed range of PCC voltage and satisfying the requirement of the magnitude of ripple current, the inductance parameter is designed. At last, the simulation result shows that the designed inductance can ensure the PCC voltage does not exceed the prescribed range and restrain the ripple current.

Low back pain is a serious industrial problem and a common chronic disabling disease that affects the health of many workers, with a steadily rising rate of incapacity due to low back pain and a burden on individuals, families, businesses and society. Therefore, a new type of wearable lifting assist device, called the Industrial Passive Waist-assistant Exoskeleton (IPWE), was developed for workers' working conditions to reduce the risk of lower back muscle damage during manual handling. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of this IPWE on the muscle activity and oxygen consumption of the lower back in simulated lifting tasks. Meanwhile, local perceived stress, subjective perceived fatigue and system availability of the exoskeleton system were evaluated. The results showed that the IPWE significantly reduced the muscle activity of the thoracic erector spinaes and lumbar erector spinaes. During the 15-minute repetitive lifting task, the electromyographic amplitudes of the thoracic erector spinae TES1, TES2 and the lumbar erector spinae LES1, LES2 decreased by 19.14%, 14.63%, 28.03% and 25.05%, respectively. In addition, the exoskeleton did not cause significant differences in oxygen consumption and subjectively perceived fatigue. But it caused increased local pressure on the thighs and shoulders. Among them, IPWE was considered to have acceptable availability by half of the subjects. However, the obvious contact pressure on certain body parts were the cause of discomfort caused by IPWE.

Energy management of wind-PV-storage-grid based large electricity consumer using robust optimization technique

Large electricity consumers (LEC) can purchase energy from various energy resources such as bilateral contracts, pool market, micro-turbines, battery storage systems, wind turbines, photovoltaic panels (PV). The uncertainty of market price leads to uncertainty in the total cost to the LEC. Therefore, in this article, the robust optimization (RO) technique is provided to investigate the uncertainty of the pool market price in the presented problem. Also, demand response program (DRP) is provided to decrease the purchased cost to the LEC as much as possible. According to the obtained results, without considering DRP, purchased cost is approximately $40,253.252 and $42,586.984, respectively in the risk-neutral strategy (ideal condition) and robust strategy (worst condition). Furthermore, the purchased cost is reduced nearly $36,945.362 and $39,789.267 in the risk-neutral and robust strategies with considering DRP. So, it can be concluded that the purchased cost to the LEC with considering DRP is reduced 8.2% and 6.5% in risk-neutral and robust strategies, respectively.

TianQin is a planned space-based gravitational wave (GW) observatory consisting of three earth orbiting satellites with an orbital radius of about 105 km. The satellites will form a equilateral triangle constellation the plane of which is nearly perpendicular to the ecliptic plane. TianQin aims to detect GWs between 10−4 Hz and 1 Hz that can be generated by a wide variety of important astrophysical and cosmological sources, including the inspiral of Galactic ultra-compact binaries, the inspiral of stellar-mass black hole binaries, extreme mass ratio inspirals, the merger of massive black hole binaries, and possibly the energetic processes in the very early universe or exotic sources such as cosmic strings. In order to start science operations around 2035, a roadmap called the 0123 plan is being used to bring the key technologies of TianQin to maturity, supported by the construction of a series of research facilities on the ground. Two major projects of the 0123 plan are being carried out. In this process, the team has created a new generation 17 cm single-body hollow corner-cube retro-reflector which has been launched with the QueQiao satellite on 21 May 2018;a new laser ranging station equipped with a 1.2 m telescope has been constructed and the station has successfully ranged to all the five retro-reflectors on the Moon;and the TianQin-1 experimental satellite has been launched on 20 December 2019 and the first round result shows that the satellite has exceeded all of its mission requirements. Background: The influence of rising global temperatures on malaria dynamics and distribution remains controversial, especially in central highland regions. We aimed to address this subject by studying the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of malaria and the effect of climate change on malaria transmission over 27 years in Hainan, an island province in China. Methods: For this longitudinal cohort study, we used a decades-long dataset of malaria incidence reports from Hainan, China, to investigate the pattern of malaria transmission in Hainan relative to temperature and the incidence at increasing altitudes. Climatic data were obtained from the local meteorological stations in Hainan during 1984–2010 and the WorldClim dataset. A temperature-dependent R₀ model and negative binomial generalised linear model were used to decipher the relationship between climate factors and malaria incidence in the tropical region. Findings: Over the past few decades, the annual peak incidence has appeared earlier in the central highland regions but later in low-altitude regions in Hainan, China. Results from the temperature-dependent model showed that these long-term changes of incidence peak timing are linked to rising temperatures (of about 1·5°C). Further, a 1°C increase corresponds to a change in cases of malaria from –5·6% (95% CI –4·5 to –6·6) to –9·2% (95% CI –7·6 to –10·9) from the northern plain regions to the central highland regions during the rainy season. In the dry season, the change in cases would be 4·6% (95% CI 3·7 to 5·5) to 11·9% (95% CI 9·8 to 14·2) from low-altitude areas to high-altitude areas. Interpretation: Our study empirically supports the idea that increasing temperatures can generate opposing effects on malaria dynamics for lowland and highland regions. Tracking the trajectory of hydrogen intermediates during hydrogen electro-catalysis is beneficial for designing synergetic multi-component catalysts with division of chemical labor. Herein, we demonstrate a novel dynamic lattice hydrogen (LH) migration mechanism that leads to two orders of magnitude increase in the alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) activity on Pd@Pt over pure Pd, even ≈31.8 times mass activity enhancement than commercial Pt. Specifically, the polarization-driven electrochemical hydrogenation process from Pd@Pt to PdH x @Pt by incorporating LH allows more surface vacancy Pt sites to increase the surface H coverage. The inverse dehydrogenation process makes PdH x as an H reservoir, providing LH migrates to the surface of Pt and participates in the HOR. Meanwhile, the formation of PdH x induces electronic effect, lowering the energy barrier of rate-determining Volmer step, thus resulting in the HOR kinetics on Pd@Pt being proportional to the LH concentration in the in situ formed PdH x @Pt. Moreover, this dynamic catalysis mechanism would open up the catalysts scope for hydrogen electro-catalysis.

Photovoltaic technology with low weight, high specific power in cold environments, and compatibility with flexible fabrication is highly desired for near-space vehicles and polar region applications. Herein, we demonstrate efficient low-temperature flexible perovskite solar cells by improving the interfacial contact between electron-transport layer (ETL) and perovskite layer. We find that the adsorbed oxygen active sites and oxygen vacancies of flexible tin oxide (SnO 2 ) ETL layer can be effectively decreased by incorporating a trace amount of titanium tetrachloride (TiCl 4 ). The effective defects elimination at the interfacial increases the electron mobility of flexible SnO 2 layer, regulates band alignment at the perovskite/SnO 2 interface, induces larger perovskite crystal growth, and improves charge collection efficiency in a complete solar cell. Correspondingly, the improved interfacial contact transforms into high-performance solar cells under one-sun illumination (AM 1.5G) with efficiencies up to 23.7 % at 218 K, which might open up a new era of application of this emerging flexible photovoltaic technology to low-temperature environments such as near-space and polar regions.

Background: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is accompanied by disrupted cortical neuroanatomy. We investigated alteration in covariance of structural networks associated with PTSD in regions that demonstrate the case-control differences in cortical thickness (CT) and surface area (SA). Methods: Neuroimaging and clinical data were aggregated from 29 research sites in >1300 PTSD cases and >2000 trauma-exposed control subjects (ages 6.2–85.2 years) by the ENIGMA-PGC (Enhancing Neuro Imaging Genetics through Meta Analysis–Psychiatric Genomics Consortium) PTSD working group. Cortical regions in the network were rank ordered by the effect size of PTSD-related cortical differences in CT and SA. The top-n (n = 2–148) regions with the largest effect size for PTSD > non-PTSD formed hypertrophic networks, the largest effect size for PTSD < non-PTSD formed atrophic networks, and the smallest effect size of between-group differences formed stable networks. The mean structural covariance (SC) of a given n-region network was the average of all positive pairwise correlations and was compared with the mean SC of 5000 randomly generated n-region networks. Results: Patients with PTSD, relative to non-PTSD control subjects, exhibited lower mean SC in CT-based and SA-based atrophic networks. Comorbid depression, sex, and age modulated covariance differences of PTSD-related structural networks. Conclusions: Covariance of structural networks based on CT and cortical SA are affected by PTSD and further modulated by comorbid depression, sex, and age. The SC networks that are perturbed in PTSD comport with converging evidence from resting-state functional connectivity networks and networks affected by inflammatory processes and stress hormones in PTSD. © 2022 Society of Biological Psychiatry

Load Curve Modeling Based on Behavior Analysis of Distributed Power Customers

As renewable power generation directly affects the customers' traditional electricity behavior and then offsets the power load, this paper proposes a load curve modeling method for renewable power customers based on the behavior analysis. Firstly, customers' active behavior is represented by the quantity of active customer households. Based on the analysis of customer behaviors, a modeling method for the quantity of active customer households is proposed based on Markov Chain Monte Carlo method. Then, with the inputs as the quantity of active customer households and time of photovoltaic power generation, an inference model based on fuzzy logic is proposed to get the quantity of customer household starting electrical appliances. By combing the average usage time of electrical appliances, load characteristics are analyzed based on usage state of electrical appliance of distributed power customers. Finally, the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
