Wireless Sensor Networks are attracting lots of attention for its broad application areas, and hence the services provided by WSNs become much more diverse. But with the development of in-depth applications, service discovery and composition are challenges to the end users. Service mining is a new technique in Internet which can discover new composite services from the abundantly existing services in Internet to meet the users' needs. However, those service mining methods are not practical in the energy-exhausted and application-oriented WSNs. In this paper, we develop a semantics-based service mining method for WSNs, to provide users with interesting composite services. In this method, services are combined and recommended to users actively according to the calculation of service similarity and an up datable semantic database. By the results of service similarity, useless compositions are filtered out so that energy consumption on service flooding can be reduced. The update strategy of semantic database is also given out, by which the composite services can keep up with time and be more applicative. The benefits of the proposed method are that all operations such as calculating, filtering, and updating are simple enough and can be performed at broker nodes. © 2011 IEEE.

Currently, more and more Internet of Things (IoT) applications use Internet cameras to sense the physical world, and a large amount of streaming media data is uploaded onto video data center. Consequently, it brings much pressure on the media streams' caching and storage resources of data centers. For solving this problem, we propose a streaming media caching resource scheduling approach which gives full consideration on the resource constraints of cameras and the caching server instability. We adopt a server-slave model to manage the caching server cluster. The management server monitors the state of each slave caching server in real-time, and schedules the connecting requests of Internet cameras according to the stability of the distributed caching servers. Therefore, we can obtain the higher reliability for streaming media uploading and the better workload balance among the caching servers. Based on the proposed scheduling approach, we implement a distributed caching system for reliable video uploading in data center, and the experimental results validate the effectiveness of our approach. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

In Wireless Audio Sensor Networks (WASNs), many applications such as target tracking, data fusion and localization, often require precise synchronization among audio streams. Extensive researches have been done under the assumption that wireless channel is well enough and the cluster head is power supplied. However, these conditions can not be satisfied in many applications. When audio event occurs, the burst of data is usually coupled with a high packet loss rate. Besides, the cluster head is usually battery-powered, especially in the wild environment. In this paper, we propose a distributed audio synchronization scheme to address these challenges. By dynamically detecting the endpoint of the audio streams and marking the start point of the audio synchronization obviously at the reporting sensor, we can eliminate the sound propagation delay effectively and synchronize the audio streams precisely even under the high packet loss rate. Moreover, by handling the synchronization task in a distributed way, we can lighten the burden of the cluster head and prolong the lifetime of the whole network greatly. To improve the flexibility of the scheme, we also propose a self-adaptive algorithm which can adjust the parameters of the synchronization according to the network condition. Experimentally, we show that the proposed scheme can synchronize the audio streams under different conditions with low energy cost. © 2011 IEEE.

Opinion mining is an important research area of web data mining. As it is related to natural language process and data mining, opinion mining is very challenging. This paper presents a web opining mining algorithm based on sentiment phrase classification vector. By the techniques of sentiment phrase classification, the algorithm compares the similarity between document vectors, mines the theme of the document and judges the document theme attributes. The experimental results show that the algorithm has better effectiveness and practicality. ©2010 IEEE.

Knowledge engineering stems from E. A. Figenbaum＇s proposal in 1977, but it will enter a new decade with the new challenges. This paper first summarizes three knowledge engineering experiments we have undertaken to show possibility of separating knowledge development from intelligent software development. We call it the ICAX mode of intelligent application software generation. The key of this mode is to generate knowledge base, which is the source of intelligence of ICAX software, independently and parallel to intelligent software development. That gives birth to a new and more general concept ＂knowware＂. Knowware is a commercialized knowledge module with documentation and intellectual property, which is computer operable, but free of any built-in control mechanism, meeting some industrial standards and embeddable in software/hardware. The process of development, application and management of knowware is called knowware engineering. Two different knowware life cycle models are discussed： the furnace model and the crystallization model. Knowledge middleware is a class of software functioning in all aspects of knowware life cycle models. Finally, this paper also presents some examples of building knowware in the domain of information system engineering.

multimedia tourism intelligent navigation system requires that the third party identifies and displays the location of GPS information receiver. A comprehensive method is presented to realize a GPS information real time marking system by the use of GPS, GPRS and GIS technology. Information is received through the GPS module, GPRS network as a transmission channel, MAPXTREME control as graphics platform. Content aware image resizing(CAIR)is an excellent technology used widely for image *** can also be used to tamper with images and bring the trust crisis of image content to the *** an image is processed by CAIR,the correlation of local neighborhood pixels will be *** local binary patterns(LBP)can effectively describe the local texture,it however cannot describe the magnitude information of local neighborhood pixels and is also vulnerable to ***,to deal with the detection of CAIR,a novel forensic method based on improved local ternary patterns(ILTP)feature and gradient energy feature(GEF)is proposed in this ***,the adaptive threshold of the original local ternary patterns(LTP)operator is improved,and the ILTP operator is used to describe the change of correlation among local neighborhood pixels caused by ***,the histogram features of ILTP and the gradient energy features are extracted from the candidate image for CAIR forgery ***,the ILTP features and the gradient energy features are concatenated into the combined features,and the combined features are used to train *** support vector machine(SVM)is exploited as a classifier to be trained and tested by the above features in order to distinguish whether an image is subjected to CAIR or *** candidate images are extracted from uncompressed color image database(UCID),then the training and testing sets are *** experimental results with many test images show that the proposed method can detect CAIR tampering effectively,and that its performance is improved compared with other *** can achieve a better performance than the state-of-the-art approaches.

Data collection is a fundamental issue in wireless sensor networks. In many application scenarios for sensor networks, approximate data collection is a wise choice due to the constraints in communication bandwidth and energy budget. In this paper, we focus on efficient approximate data collection with given error bounds in wireless sensor networks. The key idea of our data collection approach ADC (Approximate Data Collection) is to divide a sensor network into clusters, discover local data correlations on each cluster head, and perform a global approximate data collection on the sink according to model parameters uploaded by cluster heads. Specifically, we propose a local estimation model to approximate the readings of several subsets of sensor nodes, and prove rated error-bounds of data collection using this model. In the process of model-based data collection, we formulate the problem of selecting the minimum subset of sensor nodes into a minimum dominating set problem which is known to be NP-hard, and use a greedy heuristic algorithm to find an approximate solution. We also propose a monitoring algorithm to adjust these subsets according to the changes of sensor readings. Our trace-driving simulation results show that our data collection approach ADC can notably reduce the communication cost with given error bounds. © 2010 IEEE.

In this paper, an effective classification approach for action scenes is proposed, which exploits the film grammar used by filmmakers as guideline to extract features, detect and classify action scenes. First, action scenes are detected by analyzing film rhythm of video sequence. Then four important features are extracted to characterize chase and fight scenes. After then the Probability Neural Networks is employed to classify the detected action scenes into fight, chase and uncertain scenes. Experimental results show that the proposed method works well over the real movie videos. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.

Recent studies have found that adoption of structure similarity index (SSIM) was successful in reflecting human visual characteristic better compared with traditional PSNR metrics. However this method shows some defects when evaluating the quality of blurred images and compressed degraded images at low bit rate. Good quality results were hardly achieved as they do not match the human vision system (HVS) well. This paper is to introduce a new image quality assessment algorithm based on wavelet-domain structure similarity (WDSSIM). The relative importance of the edge information under different scales is considered sufficiently in image quality assessment. The experimental results have demonstrated better consistency with the subjective perception for a large range of image types. ©2009 IEEE.
